  1. 225/45R17 is actually the same size as 255/40R17. 235/45R17 is slightly taller etc.
  2. Performance > Price
  3. Nah the reason for it is clearance on full lock. The 17/18 stagger is a common S series (S13, S14, S15) fitment option, as people are modifying lock knuckles and other steering components for additional lock than factory, and the larger wheels simply do not get enough clearance to achieve this. On the Skylines, the guards tend to have more room so you can get away with the bigger wheels.
  4. Go the +20 all round. 9.5s are not too wide for the car. What size tyres are you looking to run on it?
  5. They are mildish fitment but as the tyres will not be stretched at all, they should fill the guards with next to no camber. I personally would be looking at going wider on the wheels, but your best bet is to fit something similar up and see if they are the look you are after. I would suggest a 225/45R17 on the front as it is the same diameter as the 255/40R17 and will also give the car a far more even look.
  6. I just bought the Cusco Drag Rod kit for my 34. Impressive piece of kit Can't wait to install it with the rest of the arms
  7. Really? Nah when you've got the money saved, ask for recommendation. Better still, keep an eye out for wheels you love online and we can tell you what they are. Then we can recommend sizes as well. If you want proper 3-piece wheels, budget $3k+ without tyres.
  8. From my experience they feel more accurate, are nicer to drive on, and the quality of them is higher as well. I'm fitting Zero2E's with the in car damper adjustment on mine, which actually makes a massive difference compared to the Chinese crap we always get with "32 points of damper adjustment".
  9. So sad that Aussie companies can't design their own kits and just have to rip off other companies.
  10. Then he should pull the wheels off and drive around on stockies until he can afford the parts needed to actually fit his wheels. Don't go any narrower if you buy wheels again in the future. If you go narrower your car will look gay as f*ck. Sell the wheels and get the supporting mods first. They're far more important.
  11. It's all the same, just tuned by Status.
  12. No, I've just been there, and see a lot of the issues and what they are from. They're either people bitching coz they know someone from another workshop, or they're people rocking up with no idea and expecting the world for $3.86. I could never own a workshop myself. I just couldn't handle the BS so many people try to pull The shop is reopening shortly with a new look, and will continue to grow in a huge way Watch for them to become one of the biggest shops in SA very quickly
  13. Why waste that money when you can buy some guages that are actually accurate (the stock ones are f*cking rubbish) and just fit them to the spot provided. Each to their own, but seems like you're looking at it all wrong. Someone will definitely swap you your dash for their NA one though, coz they're so much better.
  14. They're completely fine for the street. They are like any stiff coilover. They're stiff. People just seem to throw coilovers in a car without understanding how to set the rest of it up to suit. You'll be completely fine. I think racegtst should have developed his car a little more before pulling them out. We've had success with multiple cars with HSDs, from VIP cars, to drift, to grip cars.
  15. Tein's are ok, but you'll get far superior results from Cusco. I've run both and wouldn't even compare the two. Silk Road's are also the other brand you should look at. Not sure if they make them for R33, but I love them to death. If they made them for ER34 I'd definitely have a set, but I'm going with Cusco Zero2E for mine
  16. The car is too high for one. The camber is looking like it's set to 0 which is not really going to work unless you have smaller tyres. You have a couple of options. 1) Roll your guards flat. Fit 235/40R18s and lower the car. Adjust the camber so the wheels clear the guards by millimetres and it will look perfect. 2) Roll your guards flat. Keep the 265/35R18s and lower the car. Dial in more camber until they clear. Don't bother with 245/40R18s. They're too tall for your car. Go for the 235/40R18 all round. Camber will need to probably be around -2.5 to -3 all round. Understand that the gay is going to look goofy sitting so high, so you'll need to save for springs or coilovers to lower the car. Unfortunately a lot of people jump into things without fully understanding what's involved. But we'll help you out of your predicament
  17. Should have made myself more clear. Not the ones he bought, but the new ones Rota have released Drifteks are just copies of Nismo's and BeeRs
  18. Don't bother with CR Kai's in that size. You wanna be looking at 17x9 +17 all round with 225/45R17's and a little camber. These will tuck with a decent ride height and guards rolled flat.
  19. If you gate next to a cop you deserve to be canary'd lol. There is definitely an argument for street cars to have external gates plumbed back in, but seriously, how could you happily remove the glorious sound Adam's car is making. I completely understand the argument. It's an experience I've been through before. But I can only imagine how your car currently sounds, and feel it would be a loss to other road users to lose that external gate noise I'm going to have to learn to drive sensibly again once my external gate in on my car. I tend to use it as a self control mechanism so I don't drive like a dickhead haha.
  20. Hey Andy, Realistically a little camber and just rolling the lips of the guards up (not pumping the guards out) should work. Realistically I would be swapping the 265/35s for some 235/40s as that will also allow them to fit nicely on the car. Won't be hard to get them to tuck without rubbing with a few small adjustments as the static camber will help. Pics will be a great guide
  21. Send his car to me so I can smash it, then pay me to have a decent one built for him. Or send me some money so I can step up my 34 even more The end result is disgusting and has nothing going for it at all.
  22. What a piece of crap. No taste and no style. Sorry for his loss.
  23. For legality, keep the guage pods and throw aftermarket guages in them. Just waiting on mine to rock up to cop the Defi treatment
  24. Now I just have to work out how to remove the traction control (hopefully on a switch) and ABS from mine. Drivers airbag will be pulled off when the new steering wheel goes on
