Yea leaving the gear box in made life very difficult... but its a GTR gear box (VERY HEAVY) and i have no access to a hoist so im worried that if i drop it down i may never get it back up again :laughing-smiley-014: in the process of removing that propella shaft i damaged the rubber ring seal in the front diff where the shaft enters..... now how in the hell am i supposed to find a replacement seal for this!!!!

**UPDATE** got it out pretty much... the splein is still in the diff by a couple of mm. But has enough play to come out completely when i left the engine up a bit i think...

ok. Im looking at HKS metal head gaskets now on nengun performance.... Trying to decide between 1.2mm, 1.6mm or 2.0mm. ??? recommendations???

cheeers guys! ripped the RB20 out this morning! so now its time to start preping the rb25 for the drop in. I dont want to push anything over 240rwkw now as i want to keep a bit of reliability/streetability, id be more than happy with the more responsive and torquish power from the 25 after driving the 20. All the parts i have are interchangable between the engines except for: Jun front fed Plenum, custom fuel rail, and GTR injectors. Trying to figure out if i should go stock 25 plenum and pay for extra cooler piping or buy another front fed plenum to fit the 25... So now its time for my shopping list... Would love for some input. (Trying to keep to a budget and only getting what i NEED for this to work.) The RB25 shopping list: (So far...) - Head studs - 555cc nismo injectors - Metal head gasket (What size is recommended for say 14-15psi of boost.) - Gasket kit - New belts - New hoses - Oils and fluids

Hey guys, Long story short: I own a R32 GTS4 rb20det moderately to highly modified, about 2-3 months ago i damaged the engine, we think its a head gasket but havent pulled it apart yet. I have been more keen to get my RB25det in! So anyway, when i blew the engine a few months back, we rolled it and stored it at a friends place near by. Last night we were finally able to bring it home!!! so happy to see it again!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANYWAY, the rb25 hasnt been rebuilt or anything it came straight out of a staggy half cut with low K's so im keen to just throw it in. But there is one precaution i would like to take and that is replace the OEM head gasket with a metal one to help prevent blowing another one too soon. This will be done by me and a friend so just wondering what were the 'technical' aspects about this project... ive heard you have to undo the bolts in a certain sequence to prevent bending the head as it comes off? Anyone know this sequence? Any extra info would help Cheeeeers

do you have the aluminium pipe that connects to the plenum and the stock bov connects too??? i have the standard plenum but no 'elbow'... ill just call it that

Ok, thank you ~Im also using a GT-R gear box. does my box need to come out during any of this??? I've heard its extremely heavy and not easy to remove/install? ~For the last 15 minutes ive been searching for a tech article on how to interchange the sumps (looking for GTR's swapping to a GTS4 sump) just for the general idea.... no such luck yet so if anyone knows of any good tech threads that show interchanging 4WD sumps, care too share??

EDIT: misunderstood something Ok im an extreme newbie to the drive train..... So if i was to bolt the 20det sump ratio's (4.375) onto my 25det and leave my rear diff ratio's on my 32 standard i shouldnt have any problems? It's an unexperienced guess, but wouldnt it be beneficial (performance wise) to keep the better ratios of the 32?

no one knows? i know the gts4 sump is better than the gtr (ratios), what about the sagea ratios?

OK. my front cut was delivered today. At work at the moment so i cant get pics atm. I will be dropping this engine (RB25det AWD sump) into my R32 GTS4. First 2 questions: - Are the 25det staggy 4wd sump ratio's different from my rb20det 32 4wd sump ratio's - There is a button behind my steering wheel on the staggy front cut with a picture of the AWD train (will get pics up soon) any one know what this button used to do?? Hey guys, ALREADY SEARCHED FOR MY ANSWER ON HERE AND ALSO NS. I've heard a romour that running my GTS4 in RWD mode (removing the fuse) for drift, Does not run the same as a GTSt and has bad balance?? It's been a dream of mine since i was 14 to learn drift and get to the track. My engine is currently shagged atm, so this may be an opportunity for me to switch to a GTSt drive train while the engine is out.... Anyone have any experienced opinions or guidance they wanna share??? cheers!

I am also interested as to who has any experience with these turbo's? Any opinions on them?? I saw them advertised cheap from like $800 new on thier website....

hey guys, Ive noticed the wheelworx car converted to the 34 front end on thier 32... I was hoping to be able to do this but never found it available in aus. I searched further and now viva garage have a limited stock available to aus for the 32.4 conversion... Also i was wanting to know if anyone has converted to a S15 front end strawberry face on thier 32??? Or do you know of its availability and where??? cheers guys.... pics would be good to if you have any.
