  1. Here you go Sly.
  2. pentae, i see a shite load of "kids" in s13's too, but that doesnt stop me from liking them any less.
  3. I disagree. Olive oil is clearly superior.
  4. Spray some WD40 or CRC on it and let it soak in. It will help loosen it. Then just keep wiggling it... itll come off, just be persistnet. Mine took a while too. Good luck
  5. Theres a product called "Sikaflex". Its a range of sealants you can buy from hardware and automotive stores. There are a few varients of Sikaflex, but they have an automotive removable sealant specifically for this kind of thing. It worked a treat for me. Good luck.
  6. shweeet rims!!! good luck with the sale... bumparoonie!
  7. Reminds me of the other day when, at a set of lights, I came across a stock VL commy sedan with those oval "GENIII V8" badges on the front quarters. Quite sad. Not to mention the smoke that bellowed out the exhaust as he took off.
  8. easily worth the money your asking. nother free bump.
  9. umm, whats better, a 2 metre piece of string or a 2.5 metre piece of string? some might say 2.5 coz they like longer pieces of string. others might say 2 coz they may not need 2.5 metres. it all comes down to the application of the vehicle and personal preference. also have to consider the engine. under the given conditions that you intend to use the car, one form of forced induction may yeild better results than the other. and i know you have a surpa, but its a very vague question, so youre not going to get the kind of responses your looking for.
  10. were the cream recaros not sold?
  11. These are some factory figures from a reliable internet site- if there is such a thing: Skyline R33 GTS25T: 187kw @ 6400rpm 295nm @ 4800rpm 7000rpm redline 1390 kg 6.18 seconds 0-100 14.39 seconds 400m 2.5 GT-Turbo: 208kW @ 6200rpm 362Nm @ 4800rpm 7250rpm redline 1600 kg 7.00 seconds 0-100km/h 15.06 seconds 400m You fellas can extrapolate what you want from those figures. Just putting everyone on the same page. There seems to be a lot of people who judge 'near-equal' performace cars be their kerb weight. So just out of curiousity i took some figures from the Holden website about various VY Commodores, as these seem to be the baseline car when people talk about weight; they always get mentioned somewhere along the line. Anyway, here you go. SV8 Manual: 1638 kg SV8 Auto: 1645 kg SS Manual: 1658 kg SS Auto: 1664 kg SS UTE Manual: 1618 kg SS UTE Auto: 1624 kg 245kW @ 5200 rpm 470Nm @ 4400 rpm
  12. I wonder if he was one of those wannbe turbo, atmo fellas, sticking his head out the window and making "pshhh" noises Your Astra isnt the new turbo model is it?
  13. How do you know the Soarer was even trying? Unless of course it was a friend of yours driving the Soarer, and both of you knew it was a race. In which case i withdraw my comment. Even if the Soarer was trying to beat you in the Astra, how do you know the Soarer wasnt the 3L atmo variety? Not meaning to have a go at you man, its just that comparisons like that dont really mean much, if anything at all. Contrary to you comparison, the 1JZ has always been renowned for their "glorious" (quoting HPI) low-end torque, which would account for greater accelaration than your astra.
  14. if only we all had that much money to waste.
  15. had same prob... the assembly is sealed on with that black sealant. just need to use constant pressure, and lots of it, dont bang it. drain the water, remove the old sealant and replace it with fresh stuff. dont use stuff like "no more gaps" or "all clear" or any of those products coz you might want to get the lights out another day use a proper removable automotive sealant for the job. hope that helps.
  16. hi amosite, which gtst were you refering too? RB20 or 25? i have an R33 and a genuine HKS installation manual for my HKS GT2530 with an application chart on the cover . So yes, to use your terminology, it is "designed" for the gtst, amongst many others, including the SR and GTR as you suggest. I would not say turbochargers are designed for individual cars, but for hp applications. the same HKS GT2530 in my friends R32 creates equal havoc on the street.
  17. That is one of the dumbest, unsubstantiated statements Ive heard on this forum for a long time. You successfully made yourself sound like the idiots you claim GCG to be... well done turbogtst, well done. I strongly suggest you spend many, many, many hours searching these forums to soak up some knowledge, hard facts and others' personal experience before you think about posting again.
  18. The pic shows wastegate is bolted on - no dramas.
  19. manufacturers of wheels would have strick guidelines and thorough testing proceedures forced upon them to ensure their deisgns are safe. just like any other consumer product of this nature. not to mention that it is in their own interest to ensure their wheels arent crap, to avoid legal action from road accidents caused by their failing wheels. i can assure you anything you purchase will be fine and serve you well. these were my old rims. light as a feather, you could pick them up with one hand and chuck'em about without straining at all... i was amazed. great for reducing weight.
  20. that makes sense... i didnt think anybody could be that stupid, and so persistently so back to the thread... sorry muesil, i dont have any answers for you.
  21. i would have thought most of the users in this section have turbo cars. this thread is in the FORCED INDUCTION PERFORMANCE section afterall. no offense, mistakes do happen.
  22. HKS GT2530's are not at all too small for RB25's... on what info and prior experience are you guys basing this comment on? for those with only moderate power ambitions, this turbo on the RB25 is capable of making considerably more power over the standard item, spooling at almost identical RPM to standard and with its steel exhaust turbine can support increased boost pressure. having bought one myself, ive done the research. i have all the support systems and will be installing once the car comes back from the painters. i will be happy to post dyno charts for those who are more sceptical. btw, the HKS manual that came with the turbo kit has an application chart on the front cover, where the RB25DET in clearly mentioned. i think they should know.
  23. Put a dog on your bonnet.
  24. how much did the turbo set u back if you dont mind? do the s2 turbos spool up any quiccker than a s1?
