  1. unless you press the reset button at the back of the PFC, or there's a possibility if you take it out for extended period then it may reset itself, but I haven't tried that out yet... the unit should have a backup battery inside to store all setting (like your computer motherboard remembering what date/time after you turn it off). Eventually the backup battery will run out of power if not on the car for too long.
  2. Normally if you buy a proper 240kph/300/320 speedo (not just changing the face over to the one with more numbers on it) then you don't need to calibrate it. Just plug and play. It may be out by 5-10% depending on ur car transmission, diff ratio, gear ratios, etc.. but I personally won't be too bothered about it. I just know with my nismo 300kph one, I'm only doing 91km/h actual speed when i'm doing 100km/h according to the speedo. Can be tested on a dyno or any of the roadside speed check displays.
  3. I think it's not that VIC laws overriding NSW laws, it's just that when you enter VIC, you are now under VIC State jurisdiction, therefore you have to obey Victorian road laws. So if you can't comply with VIC laws, either you leave/return to NSW, or cop the consequences of breaking the laws. If VIC law overrides NSW laws, that means that Victorian laws applies in NSW, on top of NSW laws itself. That is called overriding.
  4. Probably stuffed starter motor. Last time it happened in one of my previous old car. Took it to auto elec who clean it for $70, then it's running fine till the day I sold the "old friend". Worse case scenario would be buying a new starter motor or get a 2nd hand one in working condition from a wrecker.
  5. Go slower. Like 90 in 5th you'll save a bit more petrol and u wont get booked ever...
  6. All factory diff are viscous. Mechanical ones are usually aftermarket, installed by previous owner.
  7. I still have to log on everytime (IE6)
  8. I paid about $600 for a PFC tune in Bayswater VIC, includes changing new spark plugs to accommodate extra boost (+/-11psi).
  9. I thought we had a similar one in the old SAU... I haven't checked the new one whether it's there or not.. It used to be accessible from user control panel (cp) and choose "car" option.
  10. HICAS means her car has a problem with the rear-wheel steering system. Most skyline imported here have HICAS (4WS) from factory, they don't turn much probably only by a degree or so to help counter the oversteer during hard cornering for the average driver out there. If the HICAS light is on, chances that it's been disconnected, or removed. Aftermarket steering wheel can also cause HICAS to stop functioning. There's lots of threads in thsi forum about HICAS, and most people will have it disconnected totally as soon as it's having problem anyway...
  11. Mine probably won't understand why I needed that $2k to upgrade something that she can't see... but yet she'd love to drive my R33 sometime (and I did let her)
  12. I had HKS split dump, quite old bought 2nd hand and when I bought it, it doesnt seem to crack and works well (keep exhaust still reasonably quiet)... So I guess even stainless steel is prone to cracking compared to mild steel, it also all depends on the quality of the product. Most cheaper stainless steel items on ebay looks like HKS rip offs made in china, so maybe it'll not be as strong as the original one.
  13. James, from the first picture it looks like a 4x100pcd? Or is it a 5x114.3? Also do all centre caps complete, none missing? Any gutter scratches/dents? And what is the brand of the tyres?
  14. what sort of engine management you have? looks like your car is running too rich, keep burning your bumper... got lots of fuel in the exhaust there...
  15. If you want it to be perfect you'll need to swap headlights, bonnet, and front bar (and perhaps the frontbar support too - I'm not too sure), and rear spoiler. Then if you wanna go extreme there's the seat & interior trims, then driver side airbag steering wheel, passenger airbag (swapping whole dashboard), dash panel, speedo & tacho set has different trim (round style around the warning lights). Perhaps selling your S1.5 and get a S2 will work out cheaper.
  16. This maybe a silly question, but will the dyno reading be run on shootout mode?
  17. Thank's but I'll have to give it a miss... I was just quoted by GCG to hi flow this unit, and at their price, I'd rather get a brand new GT-RS for not much more. Good luck with the sale...
  18. Bass Junky... is turbo from R34 GTT will bolt on perfectly to R33 GTST? Like the oil/water line, inlet/outlet position, etc?
  19. man, a 3" catco cat sold by batmbl on this forum is EPA approved, so you shouldn't have any issue
  20. I think there's somewhere stated in the law (different from state to state) that you're not suppose to leave a car engine running unattended. Therefore it's the ground for considering remote start as illegal equipment. In a manual car you gotta be careful not to trigger it when the car is in gear otherwise it'll jump forward. It's a lot safer on automatic cars because autos can't be started when the gear selector is in any positions except P (Park) and N (Neutral).
  21. Looks like gearbox due for rebuild... Mine likes to pop out of 3rd gear when downshifting and heel-toeing fast during corner approach. Not fun revving up on corner exit only to find the car's actually in neutral...

    nice GT-R

if its' one of the earlier models, you can get one on the road from under $35k these days... that $40k a bit pricey for a stockie. dun trust the 59,000km much on aftermarket speedo without any service history.
  23. Al has one for sale I think... Are you selling the hi flow now?
  24. same thing on my r33. it rattles since day 1 the hd clutch went in about 2 years ago. still driving, no problem. it's said it's the thrust bearing that does it, but if it's not break yet, dun think it worth the $ to rip it apart and replace the little bugger.
  25. Yeah, I've got the same problem, my front is too low till it can scrape the tyre on hard cornering... I dunno why but most ppl with Whiteline kit would have this "dive in" stance with the cars. I think I'm gonna ask my front ones to be re-adjust like yours, make it a bit higher so the car's sitting horizontal again...
