  1. Yep, that amount of money would allow you to get a late model R32 GTR, so it should be in a better condition. But if you're buying in Japan, i'm not sure if anyone done R32 compliance under the new SEVS rule, otherwise try to find one locally.
  2. it all depends what u really want from your car. if looks don't matter (and price too i think - since u didn't mention), then keep in mind that it'll be more likely to find a r33 gtr in better condition compared to r32 gtr, considering r32 age, and whether it's been trashed/dragged/raced in japan. the r32gtr is still quite favourite in japan being a lighter car and with similar mods can outrun the r33gtr. also depends on how professionally the car was tuned in japan, it could mean between buying a ticking bomb or a real fast car. but this doesn't mean that r33 gtr has less performance potential. I believed nissan has improved the rb26 from r32 to r33 generation, so there should be some gain there to get the r33.
  3. which gauge is this? got any pics to show us?
  4. funny, isnt' the slim plate has the same width with regular? or are they actually a bit wider?
  5. this is interesting... what time will it start? and how do i get to winston? i actually plan to watch HSV trackday @ PI but might put this into consideration.
  6. That's great work. Some other places worth to try perhaps are the Centreline Suspension in Thomastown/Reservoir (supplier of Whiteline) and also Fulchrum Suspension in Bayswater area (tuned lots of Targa Tas GTRs)
  7. did it state somewhere in the requirement, "measured 30m from the side of the track" ? so in other words, cant really compare the normal epa 90db noise test which is done at 1m 45deg angle. i was told many exhaust that is over the 90db noise test limit above will still be under 75db from 30m away.
  8. yeah perhaps but the idea is to modify the rear brake lights to have the ring halo effect rather than just round red glowing balls.
  9. Thank's for the info. Can it be also the first CAMS event I can walk in with the form in hand and give it to the official?
  10. you can do the red "devil" halo effect for the tail lights... that's not illegal as long as it's red.

    shipping from japan

Corporate discount? Being a frequent user of EMS service there should be some significant discount given.
  12. Offset of the rims please? if you know. thank;s
  13. I've already have this bolt-on Trust front pipe, would it be better just getting the bolt-on HKS split dump only, or sell the Trust front pipe and get CES split dump+front pipe in one piece?
  14. hiro, on my R33 the mirror never folds when locking the door externally. not sure maybe in your R32 is different, it may even be an optional feature.

    shipping from japan

Gee, this thread was more than 1 yr old! Shipping via EMS is a killer particularly with heavy items, but with the advantage of tracking number so you'll know where your parcel if it got delayed. Try SAL (Surface Air Lift) if it's not too big, it'll be much cheaper but there will be no tracking number and if it's missing, you're on your own.
  16. Damn, I wanna go but: - pending how soon I will get my L2S sent to me, and - my old folks r here on Sunday as we'll be on the way to NZ in the following couple of days... so I had to miss out I guess...
  17. You can use Auto ECU and get away with it but u may not get optimum result. Checkout the dyno sheet below, which is a manual conversion R33 GTS-t still using the original Auto ECU. See where the auto ECU cut power to allow the auto gearbox to shift (cos it thinks the auto's still there). You'd get better result with Manual ECU. Also have a look at my leaner A/F ratio, so you gotta be careful with boost not to get it too lean and detonate your engine.
  18. Yes, it's tempting... but as I said they're skinny, 17x7 only. I was quoted $900 a set no tyres.
  19. Ever heard of Vision rims? I was interested but the model below only available in 17x7 (a bit skinny ) so it won't be ideal to use it with 235/45R17 tyres as these tyres are only optimum to be used on 8" (min 7.5") based on tyre manufacturer's recommendation. With 7" would only suit 215 or 225 tyres, anything larger than that will have a bit too much flex on the sidewall...? FYI the rims below is 17x7 114.3x5 and 38mm offset.
  20. Talked to munkeh on the club meet, he said when you switch to fold, as soon as the mirror clicks, quickly flip the switch back to unfold, it will fix the problem. I tried on mine, the mirror folds, clicked, I flipped the switch, the mirror unfold back only about 0.5cm then halt again. Haven't found the correct "sequence" yet till now... But that confirms that somehow the unfold switch still works. I dunno what else caused the motor to seized....? Anyone tried this?
  21. If he said car is using a bit of oil, so I reckon the exhaust smoke should have a bluish colour if it's burning oil. ring land issue too.. or perhaps oil seal on turbo, either way, better get it checked.
  22. SHOWBAGS SHOWBAGS SHOWBAGS :-) He hehe... OTH I've got the CAMS form, forgot to ask on the day if we can just send it straight away or do we have to wait until a certain time? E.g any paperwork SAU committe need to submit to CAMS before we can send the CAMS form in?
  23. 13_devil, Doesnt mean that if it only happens at 5000rpm it will not destroy ur engine in the long run. I believe the problem doesn't just occur suddenly at 5000rpm but it may build up slowly until it's noticeable enough at 5000rpm to show up on dyno graph. so it could start to happen at a lower severity (hardly noticeable) at 2000, 3000, 4000 rpm. keep running it over and over and after a while it can just go bang at the time u least expected. After a while the problem may shifted to 4000rpm at 4th gear, then as it goes worse it can be at 3rd gear 3000rpm until the whole engine seized. I'd say get it fixed dun ignore it. See my dyno graph below right when still having same pinging problem with yours, and below left after I fixed it (my fuel pump not supplying enough pressure). It only happens last yr at 5500rpm and raised boost, this year it happens at stock boost as low as 3000rpm engine start pinging cos leaning out. Lucky i fixed it and compression test shows engine is still healty (was running stock boost over 1 yr since 1st problem detected). Cheers, rs Edit: stupid attachment, the one i attached first turns out to be on the right.
  24. obviously it has shaved 1,440,000/100th second (approx 4 hours) of your time to get to Albert Park meet yesterday... we've all long gone - LOL Denham, u better ask Dave to give the rear strutbrace back. hehe
  25. So the point is... your rear strut brace gave him the 700kw?
