  1. I wonder if anyone will wanna do a strawberry face on their skyline? Like put a R34 or V35 front on their R33...
  2. What rear spats are they? Any pics?
  3. Half lower switch? u got that on your R33? where's the button? I have one button in my dash but i think it's for the parking pole at corner of front bumper which dun work, not for the electric antenna...
  4. that letter from the Charade guy is funny LOL... he's definitely trying to pick a fight... I find him perhaps quite dellusional while writing the letter or terribly drunk... unless his charade is not stock and perhaps got a stroked V8 supercharged drag monster in it, I'd say the guy is a tool. PS: Isn't a Charade is made by Daihatsu? And where does Daihatsu comes from.... ?
  5. Sydneykid, u talking about the latest SAFC-II? And is WOT = Wide Open Throttle?
  6. Don't scare me ya bastard LOL Yeap good idea, I might get it fitted as soon as I'm a bit free at work. Meanwhle i'm keepin it in the box so it's well protected. FYI the damaged one is now being advertised. Still in NSW. I have done a leak test on it before and it has no leak, so only cosmetic damage only at the back which can't be seen after it is on a car. Let me know if anyone is interested. As SydneyKid said it can be easily repair with tweezers just takes time.
  7. Maybe he accidentally double-clicked the Post Thread button? I did that sometimes.....
  8. Yeah. he is a top bloke!
  9. no worries. just dbl check regulation in ur state. each state is different too. we victorians live in a state that even driving a stock import can be a sin....
  10. GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS!!!!!! Replacement has arrived today - in mint condition. It has note on it that it is a refund and the buyer (me) can show proof of previous tax paid on it (good thing I kept all my papers). Customs won't bother opening it this time, and not a single dint in it now! Very happy. Fast replacement by nengun - I'd recommend him to anyone who is after any parts from Japan.
  11. reason to put carbon fibre bonnet beside reduced weight is to put to asssist cooling with the vents. something that factory bonnet is lacking. no point getting a carbon fibre bonnet if u have to seal the holes again. with such lightweight bonnet u need to make sure its secured properly and wont pop up on the freeway because it's "floating" against the wind pressure inside ur engine bay. having vent will reduce that lift effect. u can have have secondary bonnet restraint like in race cars, but u can get hassled having it on your road car as they can argue its a sharp pointing object that may cause injury if say... u hit a pedestrian (touch wood) and he/she slides over the bonnet and got cuts from ur vents or bonnet pins. laying low is the best defense. i'd rather have a wolf in sheep's clothing but its up to you mate. everyone is different.
  12. they ride pretty good, suitable for our bumpy roads. had on mine for 6 months now. the R33 model front one is easy to adjust with 720degree of adjustment (no clicks) but basically each step is 180degree turn from softest to hardest - so you get about 5 settings. rear ones need to be removed on a hoist any suspension workshop can do that. takes about 30 mins or you can do it yourself if you got car jack and know what u're doing.
  13. Try EKW wrecker (I think?) in Footscray... I think they are in yellowpages.
  14. I guess they'll have to retrim the dash to cover where they cut it right..? Good if they can find the same trim material, otherwise it might look funny against the rest of the interior.
  15. Some said (true or not, not sure) that the LHD Mustang in this country which was converted to RHD has suffer from lacking some "steering response" compared to the original LHD ones. Would be a pity if the conversion to a LHD GTR suffer similar loss of steering feel and weight balance. Cos the car wasn't engineered to be LHD in the first place, conversion may shift the weight distribution between left-right unevenly... it just won't be the same car again. Beside if u take a look at that dash pic, the display is facing the "wrong way" - still facing towards RHD driving position.
  16. Yes and No. Yes - If you find the 260RS wagon which has RB26DETT (twin turbo GTR) engine and GTR AWD running gear No - If you buy the normal RS Four with RB25DET (single turbo GTS-t) engine and AWD running gear - more like GTS4 turbo Price is hard to say they range from $18k for an auto RS4 to $60k+ for a genuine 260RS
  17. The damaged one most likely get sent back to Japan so nengun can claim insurance on his behalf there (all cost including shipping)... Good thing I don't have to pay $200+ shipping cost back to Japan as the damaged one is sent to an agent in Sydney, so in the end cost me $20-odd only to deliver it there.... FMIC can be replaced, but the hassle, the heart break, and the wasted time waiting for another replacement can't be replaced. And true Pappaduck, no one can even pin-point exactly the pr1ck who was heavy handed with the FMIC in the first place, they just get away with it and we just have to bit the bullet. But hey - it's life... sh1t happens... This is the 1st time in 3 yrs it happens anyway. No use whinging abt the past now.
  18. ic.. maybe i'll put a boost gauge in front of my factory one then
  19. NEWS UPDATE: Replacement FMIC has left Japan today. Nengun is top bloke organising the replacement. Hope this time it gets here safely... finger cross...
  20. There's a law says you're not suppose to block factory gauges. However if you placed the boost gauge in front of factory boost gauge (same function), would this be ok? anyone know?
  21. Got my quote from JustCar, but this is on normal Auto RS Four, not 260 RS as I don't know how much they cost. Vehicle Make/Model: 1997 Nissan Stagea RS Four Wagon 12 Months Comprehensive Cover: $1166 Agreed Value: $19000 Standard Excess: $450 Compulsory Excess: $700 Theft Excess: $700 260RS I reckon around the $40k-50k bracket? For comparison, I can insure an R33 GTR about $40k price for around $1300-1500 mark, but not sure for 260RS cos its a much rare vehicle in Australia.
  22. How's insurance things goin for Stagea? I lodged in mine for Rating 2 >30 male in VIC and it's $1100, which is $200 less than my R33 for the same agreed value. (Using an example of a $19000 landed RS Four from an importer's list)
  23. Luv the XR6T... $3k for a >30yo Rating 1 is a bit much of an ask... Damn, now I would think twice into getting a Stagea for my next car.. But is that quote for specific 260RS or just a general Stagea? I better file in a quote too, hope it's cheaper here in VIC.
  24. And to add to that... my car IS a respray job, and it does have stickers on. even got the side Skyline strip which looks like an option in Japan that the resprayer even masked off, causing rough edges around the stripe sticker. If you're in VIC and coming to any future cruises, I'll show you the respray job on my car. That is, if I haven't done another full respray on the car myself before we meet.
  25. I never concluded that way, I only ever said "could have been" resprayed, I never say that every R33 without boot sticker IS definitely 100% a respray. It suggest a possibility only. owners can remove them, but if people thinking towards respray then it is because of majority of cases are caused by respray - as people normally don't bother sourcing another sticker after respray. I don't think R33 came out of the factory without badges or boot sticker, it should be standard issue.
