HKS Hypermax Coil-Over Shocks? pretty to look at but!
rs73 replied to superspit's topic in General Automotive Discussion
If it's caused by the helper spring rubbing coils, go to a suspension workshop, they should have some sort of insulator that they can wrap around the coil to quieten things down. -
Good that JustJap has them... even at $49 a piece, I'd reckon it may be cheaper than buying one direct from Nissan.

I purchased an auto because at the time of finding my R33 all the manual ones are either dodgy (body/mechanical/interior) or has shown evidence of being damaged/abused. The auto I purchased is one of the cleanest one I can find, and many has agreed so.

24th April? It's 1 day after my Birthday, so I voted for The Moon... but will have to wait till I win the lotto so I can buy all the fuels needed to cruise there.... unless all of you want to generously chip in for enough fuel ;-) Meanwhile, I'll go with the flow. Anywhere is fine.

I thought snow tyres are suppose to provide more grip on slippery surface? Or is it because the big grooves (to prevent snow clogged in it) reduces contact area and reducing grip on normal roads? How do these tyres work?
-
hahaha, must be crossed our ways... doesn't matter.... till next time, on a cruise, on a show, on a skidpan, on a track, wherever
-
funny, there was a few guys hanging around near the drive thru... around a bright red lancer coupe.... omg, i hate to think that's you.... cos it means ur R33 looks like a lancer to me. he he
-
what?? where were u? didn't u see my car when I arrive? anyhow good to hear you went... yeah those D1 drivers were awesome. so much corner entry speed... pity I had to leave around 3pm so miss the rest of the show. heard there were even more to see after I left.

WTF happens man.... You northerners are a bunch of no-shows I've been waiting in that Bell St Maccas from 9.45 for about 1/2 hr. Not a single soul show up.... so I left 10.15 and go straight to Calder as some of the others is suppose to show up 10.30 there... I arrived like 10.40 and there's only a couple of SAU members there. That looks like one of the most disorganised meet-up. Anyhow I had a great day at Calder. We still manage to get the SAU people to park at one corner of the main car park outside, maybe about 10-15 cars only. Those Jap D1 drivers are nuts!!!! Those who didn't go miss out a big time.... BTW Funkeh, did you go? I didn't see you there.

Hi Geoff, Sounds good. There's like 2 or 3 threads of this now in this forum can be quite confusing to follow... northern suburb guys meet at 9.45am @ bell st maccas? I read about the western suburb gonna be at calder 10.30am and they got vip treatment for sau club, like opening the door early just for us. It's in the other thread... so let's northerners be there too!
-
Well there's a couple of Maccas at Preston, u mentioning the one opposite northland or the one on Bell St near St Georges Rd? Opposite Nthland not too bad depending how many cars we got. If we get in early before the weekend shopping rush pours in. But at about 10-ish I'd suppose many shops will be opened already and too many cars there. We can go to Maccas Bell St, rock up early, have some breakkie then go from there.

rs73 replied to 666DAN's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)

Which Megamart? Anyone from northern suburb keen to meet up to cruise to Calder? I know from northern suburb should be very close already, but rather than going south then back north again...

New bilstein/Kings setup: review
rs73 replied to SLY33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I dont have GTR, but anyhow, have you tried setting the front rollbars at its softest setting and play around the rear ones, maybe make it firmest at the rear? Also play with shock damper setting till you can dial in the best oversteer balance to suit your driving needs.... hope this will help to reduce the understeer and induce a bit more oversteer or even a 50/50 balance. -
New bilstein/Kings setup: review

I think what they mean is sometimes others overstock them from previous shipment, maybe they get a deal to get them to supply your order...? -
I think those are the only places you can go to as other than those list may not be recognised by EPA to clear your notice. And it's not $37 but $27.50 I believe, and some places are just not in favour of what happens to motorist, wasting time and money just to get a noise test, especially when some of them are performance exhaust supplier and enthusiast as well... My experience going down to an exhaust testing place was quite pleasant and they're not really your enemy. But if your exhaust really need a fix badly, then they'll have to charge more to fix as they also have to protect themselves and won't dare to declare a 97db car as being noise-legal. If yours is 90 or under, just pay the certificate and u'll be fine, no more extra charges required.

Great photos guys... wish I was there... I'm still overseas now and there is no skylines at all here Just millions of 100cc Yamaha/Honda motorcycles and gazillions of public mini-buses "white bread shape car", corollas, accords, and a few locally built people movers with bizzare names like Mitsubishi "Horse" or Toyota "Reindeer". Till I get back... cheers

New bilstein/Kings setup: review
rs73 replied to SLY33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sly33, Is your bilstein rear shocks has adjustable knob that can be accessed through the parcel shelf or do they have to be removed from the car to be adjusted? When I got my whiteline kit I was told Bilstein has stopped making R33 shocks so could yours be the last batch they imported? Also considering Bilstein shocks need regular overhaul every 2 yrs, I went along with the maintenance-free Koni shocks as supplied by whiteline. I couldn't complain the ride was better even as said by a professional race car driver/instructor when he had a ride in my car recently. I was told that Bilstein will ride better than Koni however it needs regular maintenance. -
is that why u asked me abt hks evc today? well, in hks evc there's a switch at the back of the control unit to select either internal/external wastegate. didn't the profec b spec2 has somehting similar? maybe hidden in somewhere in the webs of its electronic menu or options, unlike a swithc or something.
