GTR rear strutbar & bootfloor stiffening plate install?
rs73 replied to rs73's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I ended up installing just the brace, but not the stiffening plate. Reason is I don't want the hassle when it's time to access the battery, plus my amp is installed beside that battery space. Anyone want this can grab it off me for $50, otherwise in a couple of days it'll just be sent away as scrap metal. See pic of the plate above (in my 2nd post on this thread). Rianto -
Stock R33 parts for sale....

bump. Speedo SOLD. JapCab, exhaust still available if you are still interested... -
Rom, No helmets required. In regards to joint ownership on the car, I have seen cases where people who use company cars normally would be required to sign a statutory declaration stating that the company allows him/her to use the car in such car course. So I'd suppose you'll need to bring a letter of approval from the registered owner, giving you permission to let you use the car. It's definitely in a controlled environment, all user level welcome (beginner to advance) as the instructor will sit beside you and giving you instruction according to your level and speed of progress. All cars welcome (RWD/FWD/AWD, Skylines/Silvia/WRX/Gemini/BMW/Merc/Supra/Porsche/Lotus etc.) The only restriction is we can't have extremely loud car on the venue which is 150m away from residential. So no open exhaust or straight pipes, anyone with such exhaust should do something about it before joining (even just attaching a tip silencer for 4 hours of this session should help).

For Sale Forum Suggestion?
rs73 replied to Anquetil's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
Trader rating is a good idea. Post count can also be an indicator, but you gotta take consideration that a few users love to whore on Wasteland, and some really senior users may not post that much cause busy with work, family, etc... -
Honestly I have no idea of the trash session u mention. However, you'll learn lots about car control and sideway drifting in this course. You can bring any car, a RWD E55 would be easier to drift than an AWD GT-R of course, and much more fun. But you can bring ur GT-R before as we had one previously. Takes different approach to drift a AWD.

Let's start a list then... 1. Rianto 2. Ex-static 3. meshmesh

Brendan, right? Of course you can... we'd love to see the Rex on skidpan...

Replacement clutch R33
rs73 replied to Sleeper R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If you want a cheaper clutch, some guys here fitted Nissan Patrol clucth on R33 gts-t. They fit straight in, handle power well too, and cheap. Do a search on Patrol Clutch -
Hi fellas... It's time for the first skidpan training day in 2004!!!!! We've had lots and lots of fun last year, as you can check out these galleries: SAU Skidpan 20 Sep 2003 SAU Skipdan 15 Nov 2003 SAU Skidpan 16 Nov 2003 SAU Skidpan 20 Dec 2003 (a few pics from Chris only) What I may suggest for the next one that we have an option of a BBQ at lunchtime.. (woo hoo!) It works this way: we'll need a group who do a morning session (5-6 people), the afternoon group comes in around 11am and set up bbq and start cooking. At 12 or 12.30 to 1pm we'll have a small BBQ together (let the morning guys eat first). Then the afternoon group take their turn doing the training while the morning guys cook some more food for the afternoon group and help packing/cleaning up.... Considering this I'm thinking around 20 (Sat) or 21 (Sun) February to "recruit" enough participants for the training day... Cost is $120 which you spend your day with a qualified instructor from Driver Dynamics. Hardly any tyre wear, you won't smash your car against anything, and less chance of breaking anything in your beloved ride. Please register your interest here, and these are welcomed for all returning or new comers to the training program.... places are filling up fast..... Here is the list so far: 1. Rianto "rs73" (R33) 2. Simon "meshmesh" (R33 GT-R) 3. Simon's bro (Benz E55) 4. Thanh (RX7) 5. Deric (Supra) 6. Rachel (Supra) 7. Steve "Cooks44" (R33) 8. Thai Cao (AE86) 9. Chris "Scotsman" (R33 GT-R) 10. Terry "krptr" (R33) 11. Denham "INASNT" (R33) 12. Nick "HKSgtst" (R33) 13. Alan "halz" (R33) 14. Kevin "king_kw13" (R33) 15. Corey "resonance" (180SX) 16. Geoff "skylinegeoff" (R33) 17. Andrew "Snowman" (R34 GT-R) 18. Denham (2) (WRX) Cheers! Rianto

Gearbox jumps when clutching in
rs73 replied to shoey_R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
in my car i can't feel anything thru the clutch pedal... the sound is coming from under the car... -
I got this weird pedal feel when my ABS kicks in... when I first purchased my car, if I slam on the brake pedals, it will feel like vibrating phone (very fast and consistent pulse/vibration), which confirms my ABS is working. Please don't mixed this one up with brake shudder caused by disc warp. recently it's not doing those pulsating/vibration anymore it's kicking back in a series of jolts (hard to describe). I had brake shudders as well. Yesterday I just got machined all my discs which fix the brake shudder. However when I lock up my brakes the ABS is still giving that kicking jolts on the pedal, no more rapid pulse vibration like it used to be 1.5 yrs ago. What else could it be?

In most application EBC greenstuff is the way to go. It brakes well when it's cold, and enough to do a few pace laps on a circuit. So you'll get brakes on the street. Only if you're doing serious racing more than driving your car on the road, then go for higher spec compound... (red or blue stuff)
-
I paid about $50 a disc, done thru reputable race workshop who's done lots of suspension work for race car (including Brock's Monaro). Definitely remove my shuddering problem. I think sometimes you get what you paid for. My disc was machined last year (probably cost less than $50 a disc) by some common brake shop and even after machining it, brake shudder remains. So we ruled out it wasn't the disc and waste time for a year checking wheel alignment, balancing rims, etc. Turn out it is due to to poor machining job on the disc last yr. With this recent $50 a disc job, it fixes the problem. I shouldn't have wasted so much money on alignment and balancing....

I use whiteline works kit, car has been lowered 15mm at its highest setting. Ground clearance is just on the 10cm requirement with my 3" exhaust.
