  1. I'm planning to use bolt on replacement turbo to miminise custom fabrication and tedious installation. Car is daily driver so wont go something like aftermarket plenum as around 200rwkw is what i'm only after. So with this in mind, I'd suppose this type of fmic with stock cooler piping is sufficient for me?
  2. same thing happens to me.... anyone got a solution yet?
  3. I'll bring some chicken wings then...
  4. Petrol is popular cos its ability to produce power quicker than diesel could because of faster combustion rate. More suitable for lighter cars where u need to accelerate quick. In trucks, they can't accelerate quick but many trucks indeed have more torque to pull tons of loads than most race cars. In the past, diesel was also associated with dirty and smoky combustion. Now the combustion has been improved especially in Benz TDI engines, so smoky engine is no longer an issue, providing a regular service is maintained. But still for acceleration, in general diesel will loose to petrol engines, but in load pulling ability, diesel win upper hand. Basically two different engine for two different purpose. The market determines which type of car majority of consumers would prefer to have...
  5. The one u saw could either be: 1. personal imports in which the owner must live & own the car overseas for at least 12 months and have proofs. it can be brought freely as personal import. 2. a sample that is imported by a registered automotive workshop (RAWS) in order to apply compliance for the specific vehicle model. 3. v35 compliance may have been out already, but I dunno... or... 4. it's illegally brought in.
  6. I dun think compliance is available yet for V35 series atm...
  7. I think DOTARS need them more than taiwanese....
  8. I just went down to my living room and measure it, yes it is 2.25" because it is a stock turbo exhaust system. The common 3" ones are all aftermarket.
  9. whats the result of this run guys?
  10. Do we have any indication how many ppl will turn up? That will give us idea how much meat/drinks to bring along... I wanna come along, but don't have any cooler to keep the meat/drinks cool, so if the cruise doesn't take that long, I can bring some meat - otherwise maybe some chips/snacks so it's safer as I don't have to keep them cool.
  11. jamesw, he repetitively grows his left kidney with the latest cloning biotechnology and sell 'em as grey imports when they're ripe.
  12. welcome on board, Darren. We now have 6 drivers on the day...
  13. Another reason why diesel is still produced, beside excellent fuel consumption, is the ability ot a diesel engine to produce so much torque at very low rpms. Therefore diesel is very suitable for commercial vehicles that need to haul heavy load while allowing them to make slow take off, also for 4WD where very low speed hill climb/descent could be helped by diesel's power curve characteristic.
  14. I was told to get the shocks and keep the std sway bars in my R33, as they are already pretty good.
  15. No the factory boost solenoid is still there, it's just to the right of the power steering fluid reservoir.
  16. Do I also note that the forum takes a bit longer to load compared to before, is this because of server performance issues or is it because of the new style more graphic intensive compared to old one? I'm still on 56k. (No don't say get a broadband, coz I really can't right now)
  17. will a turbo version catback fits? will it give extra pwr? as I have one from turbo, not non-turbo. piping is about 2.25"
  18. I think xr6t was rated around 240kw at the flywheel because the latest xr8 is rated around 260kw. Only the fpv range would go up to 300kw I think.... not sure if they're out yet. Check the www.ford.com.au website for spec.
  19. I have to go on a skidpan that day, so sadly I'll have to miss it...
  20. OMG this thread comes back alive again...
  21. Need to watch the ebay as well sometimes they will try to offload the goods there...
  22. I'd love to go, but Saturday 20th I'll be very likely on another skidpan day from about 1pm to 5pm... If it's evening I'd surely make it, or Sunday. Elwood would be great. Our company normally had year end BBQ evening there as it's not too much people and we can almost have the whole park to ourselves.
  23. Is it possible to add capability of attachments in private messages (pm) just like normal posts in threads? Or am I just asking too much
