  1. well - spotted pearl white R35 GTR parked on Lonsdale St this afternoon 5pm+ between queen n eliz st...
  2. yo mate, car wash open tomorrow?
  3. my Nissan dealer will definitely fit it onto my car if I ever need one. I mean c'mon they're all VQ35DE engine same as 350z. whereabouts you live, sounds like your local Nissan dealer dunno nothing about cars unless they're tiida/pulsar.
  4. In the other videos where they shown various V35, they kept saying taking out the DVD-ROM and replace it with Australian compliant player... while keeping all the factory trip computer functions. what they don't realise is the DVD ROM is the brain that pretty much control all your trip computer, those who had installed another player in the upper glovebox space actually had the DVD ROM relocated somewhere else out of view. Can't really disconnect the thing just like that. Well can't blame them 100% they're sales people, they're not auto electricians.
  5. yeah I did a quick read around the E85 and looks like the car need to be prep for 'flex fuel' capability... not recommended in 350Z which uses VQ35DE - that means probably no for me too (V35). sounds like a lot of hassle to get it tuned to E85 when only a few places stock it... what is the effect if it's tuned to E85 and you fill up with regular?
  6. man I got 9 wires but don't feel like it's done anything... perhaps I was expecting too much.
  7. does that wired to the transmission?
  8. Is it E85 = 85% Ethanol? What about the media circulation that some car make prior to 2004 or something may not be suitable to run even on a E10 or E20? as it may corrode/ruin the fuel system...
  9. Merry Christmas (belated) to you all and Happy New Year. I finally put on the ground wire kit I bought from Fox earlier this year, after months of procrastinating, but I didn't put the transmission ground cable yet as I kind of stripped the edge of the bolt that goes into point #2 where 3 cables are joint together, so I had to improve and move one of the cable from point #2 to point #1, and didn't have time to jackup the car to go underneath yet. (was running out of daylight). so probably new year resolution is perhaps get the transmission ground cable mounted at some point :-) not much change on engine side, perhaps easier start, and a bit more responsive all the way to work (normally it started to be laggy as it gets warmer)
  10. where did you get the xforce from, by the way? I did a search and didn't come up with anything if they made any for V35/G35
  11. well on first look the Asuka hawk ranger II looks slimmer than HiTV. about half.
  12. well i just got a parcel in the mail - weirdly it's behind a shrub in my front yard and the plastic casing of the dvd was cracked in the corners, either it's thrown to the house in anger or step on or being squeezed too full with other stuffs. so post is working already... although half of them were probably pissed if they don't get the payrise they wanted... expect a lot of damaged mail...
  13. Whatever you do, get your car insured AND a good 2pt or 3pt immobiliser. I've been around this forum long enough to see/read too many sad stories over these many years where people's Skyline gets stolen from their driveway, and even worse when a lot of them aren't insured or even have proper immobiliser/alarm. And, no, where you live does not matter. All the real sad stories I've read happened just about everywhere, north, west, south, east. There are no particular areas more prominent than others. Most insurers will require a good 3pt immobiliser installed - black wiring overall is the best. Be wary of the influx of cheap immobiliser kits out there that are just not up to standard and not insurance-compliance. But no matter if you put a $5000 alarm system, pros will still get to your car and disable it if they want the car. That's why you need insurance. If you cannot afford the price of annual insurance, you cannot afford to keep the car in the first place, even if you can afford to buy it in the beginning. Something to keep in mind. JustCar online quote is somewhere you should start, if you cannot afford the annual premium on top of rego and servicing cost, probably you need to re-think your priorities and car choice.
  14. This kind of thread has been brought up over and over again... R32 Gts-t made 157kw as stated, you can't just take an approach "yeah just drop it to 155 she'd be alright"... if the spec said 157kw then 157kw it is. Every kilowatt counts. The car is over 125kw/tonne based on 1245kg stated so it is illegal for P plates to drive. No turbo for Ps I'm afraid. lay off the turbo till you're off your Ps or suffer the consequences if you get pulled over... There are R32 Gts non turbo which is an alternative that may be P-legal - they look just as good as the R32 Gtst, and even without turbo I am sure their performance are very decent compared to most shopping carts toyotas or hyundais most other P-platers are driving. Drive that for 3 years till you're off Ps then trade it in for R32 Gtst... that's the only way to go I'm afraid.
  15. didn't he emailed you, Cam?
  16. Might give it a go this long weekend... by the way, I had converted the first M35 Stagea in Melbourne tonight! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  17. has anybody compared HiTV vs Asuka in terms of feature?
  18. mate, I think talking feature is an option... some of the premium cars with navi/tv only have beepers that beeps and just display message on screen. voice seems to be optional, or it could be part of the scotch lock of cables and weird grey boxes that Chris removed from my car during compliance as it was wired to factory immobiliser that often gives drama than glory down the road, and was replaced with a more reliable 3pt immobiliser/alarm.
  19. excellent. perhaps an inclusion of how to drop the glovebox / tear up dash apart should be included for completeness sake?

    New Cars

LOL... a british Jag + a korean Hyundai doesn't make you euro enough, your polarity probably end up somewhere in the middle... ie. russian Lada or Chinese Cherry / Great Wall car? anyway... I'm sure she'll be happy with the car and I heard Hyundai has ramped up on their build quality compared to the Excel of 8 years ago. happy holidays and congrats with the wedding.
  21. Yeah Cam... I had a chat with Andy the lens probably need some TLC, most of the time disc cleaner brush is just not enough to clean it. It's worth to have a map disk always in the drive, as it can reduce the amount of dust gathering over the lens over time when leaving the drive empty.
  22. Well I've been seeing a lot of V35s since I start doing the Xanavi English conversion on cars in Melbourne!
  23. been there done that... nope - she's not talking to me
  24. how come mine never spoke to me? I got a mute chic...
  25. if you have factory TV screen most likely 99% you have a TV tuner
