  1. I read this somewhere in the lines of RTA / Vicroads vehicle modification guide... On the top of my head: (correct me if I'm wrong) Well, the idea is if rims are limited to a max of 1" wider than stock, this is to prevent ppl from putting tyres that are too wide that may cause the car to tramlining in the wet, instead of improving performance. As said before, there are no limit for the rim size providing you still got enough space in the wheel well. It would also be a logic that tyres should follow the width of the rims, which means approx a maximum of 1" wider than standard tyres are also allowed. Then also tyre manufacturer has recommended rim width for each tyre size, so you can't put a 245 wide tyre on a 6" rim as it may reverse the performance of the tyre. (I'm talking about street tyres here, race/drag spec tyres may have some rules of exception) The circumference of tyres are also limited to max +/-15mm from standard in order to keep your speedo accurate within reasonable amount. Therefore increasing tyre width require you to choose lower profile to prevent increasing your tyre circumference by more than 15mm.
  2. I don't think it should be a prob if you have a RWD car. As long as you don't mix tyre size on the same axle. But if you have 4WD/AWD, then you need to have the same tyre size all around. PS: Is there a reason why you don't want to put 225 all around?
  3. I found it easier by contacting nengun on this forum. Replies are generally pretty quick...
  4. Stuffs that need to be prepared.... plus suggestions... 1. Pump up tyres to a minimum of 40PSI 2. Remove/secure any loose items from the cabin 3. Loose, comfy clothing (It'll be hard to drive in leather jackets) 4. Light jacket if windy/umbrella if rainy but please secure it in the boot 5. Light snacks/water/soft drink (session is 4-hour long) 6. If possible wash & wax your car the day before so any dirt/grease don't stick to your paintwork 7. Generally check your car from now, e.g. check if low on oil, coolant, etc. Therefore you got the whole next week to get your car serviced if required. The last thing we want is your car to break down on the day. I'll organise a digi-cam to take happy snapshots of everyone skidding around, you can bring yours but not compulsory. I'll distribute the photos after the session to all participants listed. Other than that, see you next week Sunday! Cheers, Rianto
  5. No, he's not. LOL Ask Rakis, he's done it before and the instructor is fine with his car....
  6. Denham, No, it's not in Sandown. The cost to rent Sandown would be too great for a 6-people session.
  7. u dun need mini ones, those g-techs r pretty small to strap on top of ur nitro car roof with a duct tape heheh... and with a separate battery box for the 12v dc power source
  8. maybe u guys should have a private mini drag strip.... say if ur Nitro are 1/10 scale, then do a timed ET for 40 metres
  9. ah, the mini "NOS" cars...... LOL...... watched too many 2F2F, in fact just got The Fast n Furious tricked out ed, and watched it 3 times already LOL
  10. Nitro??? R u talking about tyres or Nitrous-Oxide (NOS) like in the 2F2F movie??? If u're talking about tyres, I believe they're called Nitto? Just my 2c.
  11. no, stock is 7psi or around 0.5 bar I think for R33. R32 may run a bit higher stock boost
  12. sorry to warm this up, hopes this is not a stupid question... on a gts-t with std rim widths, would it better to run 205/55R16 at the front and 225/50R16 at the rear? the idea behind this is in the wet, the thinner front tyres will disperse most of the water first before they get to the rear tyres, thus helps to reduce tramlining? Also I saw 225 on std rims seems to be a bit too wide and looks like it could induce more roll during cornering? So you want slimmer tyre up front for better steering response? Is this logic right or wrong?
  13. 15% of value (for all auto parts, I think) + 10%GST
  14. I would rather wait till I got the type-m frontbar & sideskirts on before sending any pics, and that could still be a month away from today! Car just looks too plain in current type-s trim
  15. Bleed valve is a cheap way to increase your boost, but not as reliable as Electronic Boost Controller one. solution perhaps is to get a proper electronic boost controller like Apex'i AVC-R or HKS EVC. I have a bleed valve as well, still saving money to get an EBC.
  16. is this gonna be the same crescent moon design, or are we going to design a specific one for victoria?

  18. I finally got it after 2.5 weeks of waiting.... What is going on here..... There was no explanation whatsoever. Was thinking about ordering some more, but does that mean another 2.5 weeks wait??? C'mon I know it does not take that long to send a mail from WA to VIC ! So I prefer if anyone in VIC got any spare sticker set which are actually IN STOCK where I can just pickup cash & carry!
  19. Too many stupid drivers out there thinks that ALL cars are auto..... as soon as you release brake your car will move, so they move too... I've had this kind of drivers on my tail all the time and it sometimes really gets me to the nerves in traffic jams. Those ppl need some proper driver education, and some reality lesson that not all cars are auto! Maybe Vicroads should eliminate auto-only P license, and all people who want to get a driving license require a full test in a manual vehicle...
  20. or +/-$1100 new PowerFC from Greenline without H/C + any taxes if you're "unlucky"
  21. I got an auto electrician to do mine for $50
  22. RB30Supercharger, u must be new This section is only about general idea & feedback about how the forum runs, e.g. server errors, improvement suggestions, etc. If you wanna talk about cars please post in the Automotive section...
  23. Muz, is that AP commander can be installed on a manual transmission car? And do the steering wheel control can be mounted on an aftermarket wheel like Momo? I am interested too. I wonder how they do it electric, I thought you'll still need a vacuum to maintain open throtle position at the cruise speed. Unless you have a 7 series BMW with electric-operated accelerator, not cable like in our skylines. but BMW 7series got CC as std so no point.
  24. too bad you're in bris, cos me in melb
