  1. you have a pm
  2. If you have a factory ECU from a manual series 1 R33 GTS-T, please pm or email [email protected] and let me know how much you want for it. Must be in working condition.
  3. In my car, making a left hand turn can also up the fuel gauge by almost halfway the quarter mark. Making a right hand turn the otherwise. After driving straight for a while, it'll settle back to its original position.
  4. All cars are actually engineered to understeer a little bit. This promotes the best chance of a head-on collision where the crumple zones will be most effective. A car that has tendency to oversteer will be very dangerous in event of a crash as side intrusion bar will not be as good a shock absorbant as your whole front engine bay/boot crumple zones. How many times you've seen a car wraped in a pole and injured the occupant badly? Compare it to frontal hit where ppl inside would probably has minor injury or bruises from seatbelts only. Of course if you had a frontal hit at 200km/h you hardly stand a chance anyway, so drive carefully and it'll never happens. <>
  5. Most soarers are autos due to the fact that they market it to different groups of ppl. The 3.0L non turbo and the 4.0L V8 ones are almost 100% manuals. Hardly any executive in Jpn would want a manual in the upmarket version. You might be lucky to find a manual for the 2.5L turbo version. But there is a manual twin turbo soarer out there if you really patience, and wait, and look around very hard.... but be mindful that owning a manual soarer can be a pain as parts for manual gearbox can be very hard to find if you ever stuff your box. So you gotta treat your car with respect.
  6. I think it's a S-2 Skyline seats.... I actually prefers the S-1 seats with velour material, rather than the cost-cutting cloth material on S-2 (Nissan did this so they can fit airbags in without inflating the selling price...)
  7. Hi, How's the interior condition? If possible, I want this cup holder part... panel.jpg
  8. airbag sensor. if your car have airbag then it detects if someone is sitting there and deploys airbag when required. there is also one under the driver's seat. but I could be wrong.
  9. any other places around North Melb/Sth Melb/Preston/Flemington?
  10. what about kmart auto? or shell autoserv sites? one or two of them may have a 4WS alignment equipments
  11. I got GT-R placard I guess, as the rim list has a 9" once in there.
  12. Hey there, Who's that in black (or gunmetal) R33 GTS-t with WA plate & stockish wheels last night driving on Fitzroy St, St Kilda, going on towards Punt Rd junction? Someone from this forum? It was too dark to see thru the tinted glass, not sure if you noticed me in the wine red R33 GTS-t going straight towards Punt Rd... Didn't see you at Punt Rd, I guess you must have turned into St Kilda Rd. Just saying hi.... did you actually drive all the way from WA? That's a long way to come here dude..... Hope you enjoy Melbourne (if you're here for a holiday).
  13. any pics from the cruz? I had to miss it as I was still sick in the morning, although I was feeling a bit better in the evening and went out to the movie.
  14. Are you saying they will only insure you the market value price in Japan less import tax and other compliance cost? My 93 GTS-t was valued as $19k by Just Cars, so it should include all the importation cost, compliance, etc then. Coz if something ever happens (touch wood never happens), with $19k I should be able to import another S1 GTS-t.
  15. Well, we talked about the night time limit on the other thread as well. Famous seems to have this limit, while Just Cars will cover my car anytime anyday anywhere. This will justify the added insurance cost with Just Car compared to Famous. I think it's very unfair for this thread to pound hard on Just Cars, especially just because they give you a high insurance quote. They may have reasons or added value compared to the current policy you have. Each insurance company has their own policy, some like RACV doesn't even insure imports for a reason. Whichever suits you, you go with one company or the other. If you only drives your car during the day, has off street parking at all time, then maybe you can use Famous and save you heaps of $$$. But if majority of the time you will have to park on the public street, well beyond 12 midnight 30km away from home, then probably you should look at Just Car or other company for that added protection. This is what I think is fair. But again, if you have very bad driving records, dont start whinging around if you get sky high insurance quote. It's only your own fault coz if you have had good records, then you'd be enjoying low premiums.
  16. I think he means the GPS will only work in Brisbane area only?
  17. Well, in that case I'll stick with Just Cars, as I need my car to be fully insured even when I park it on the street 2AM in the morning in an industrial area somewhere 100km away from home.
  18. It was $286 for level 1 and $275 for level 2. Don't come in cheap but if you're concern of safe driving, it's worth going on a course like that. The motorsport cost $330 and only in VIC. But you need to do at least level 1 first. So prepare to spend at least close to $500 for any two courses above, and around $700-800 for all three.
  19. Does Famous covers your car for 24 hours a day? Can you park on the street at night and be covered. JustCar does. I park my car on the street during work, and there is no lock up garage at night either. If Famous does the same, it is a very good deal, if not, then the added cost of Just Car is justifiable.
  20. I think it all come down to driving history and age and gender... plus the different suburb/postcode you live in, could be a huge difference in premium. I read about a quote somewhere in a magazine, two nearby postcodes can have a couple thousand $$ difference. Something to do with crime rate on that postcode.
  21. R31 Chick, I actually just did the level 2 of Murcott driving school, the whole day was just out on the track practice, instead of half half like in level 1. More fun, more speed and stuffs like slalom and wet cornering. It's a very good idea for us who drive performance cars, gives you the idea of how dangerous things can get, and it could save your life by knowing your car's limit, when not to push it too far. Too many ppl now end up wrapped around a tree, in a hospital or even in the morgue. This would not have been so bad if all drivers were required to take advance driving course as a compulsory step in obtaining their permits. But again, the authority prefers to use the tax money to buy more speed cameras to fine ppl so they can buy more speed cameras. And oh, the course are not only for young drivers, some older guys (even older than me) also attend the course, sometimes even for a refreshing.... and older age also does not make you a better driver. It all comes down to each person's attitude towards driving. Oh, and you don't need a manual to do the course. Auto are ok even for Motorsport Racing Course. They teach you to use auto gear properly for those ppl who still dunno/not sure when to shift down from D to 2 or 1. Believe me some ppl still dunno how to use auto gear properly as they only ever touch Park, Reverse and Drive their whole life and not even know what Neutral or Overdrive is for...
  22. Well, I'm with JustCar and my premium is $2291 for a $19K R33 GTS-t. But I'm 30yo and rating 3, perfect driving record for the past 10 years except one speeding fine 5kph over the limit. If you include your mods in your policy (like stated in mine), then they will cover everything listed in case of any events...
  23. even when you buy a brand spanking new car, the moment the car pass the dealer's showroom door, the value drops like $3k or something... it hurts, but that's the truth... you won't get $31k out of your line, probably would be just about $22-24k with so many direct importers around that can offer a better condition, cheaper price for the same car as yours.
  24. ranging from $8 to $25 for a set of 3, bargain cheap hey? imagine how much it would cost you if you ask a dealer to do it for you, like at least $20-30 for a pair of fronts. for brands, try and error, some brands are noisier on your windscreen and some are quieter... cant remmeber what I use but it's abit noisy, will try another brand next time. I just remember what the packaging look like
  25. Some R33 do have cruise control as a factory option (I have the JPNZ R33 User Manual). I would say it's very rare in coupes and more likely to be found in sedans as the sedan buyers would considerably want more luxury options in their cars. On the other hand, many 300ZX do come with cruise control.
