  1. STUPID QUESTION: what about the rears, are there any castor bushes like the fronts as well??
  2. Oh, and by the way, my mom in Indonesia had a 1998 Toyota Corolla and it only ran a genuine 8,891km because she did not use it a lot. I can guarantee this because she bought it brand spanking new from the dealer in 1998. That's only an average of 1,700km a year and not unusual there. Since I bought my skyline, I had travelled 14,000km in it (32K to 46K) within 10 months (March 02 - Jan 03). Maybe you guys wanna start importing 2nd hand cars from sth east asia instead of Japan? HOWEVER price might be a deterrent factor as a 2003 model Camry cost Rp.400,000,000 (yes, digits are correct) which is close to $75,000 for a entry level 4-cylinder model. Here they cost only $26,990 for the same 4-pot stirrer. Most of it is the 200% import tax (300% if you import as built-up not knock down components), not sure if you can get a refund on that if you re-export the car, but I don't think so.
  3. I got my 1993 @ 32,000kms last year with very clean condition. Engine is luckily good as ICE inspected it during last service, but they said it might have been wound back either here or in Japan, as the timing belt is already starting to sag, possibly the actual km is 80,000km or so, but the mechanical and interior conditions are still very good. Possibly owned by a lady or family man in japan who don't trash their car (finger cross)... So anyway I had the timing belt replaced at last service 46,000km just to be 100% safe... just in case it is really wound back. My new manual speedo starts at 48,000km (I had auto to manual gearbox conversion) so I'm actually "loosing" 2,000 km or so but at the combination of age and km, I can't be bother to wind it back to 46,000 km same as when I replace it. If your car still drives nice, enjoy it...
  4. my window roller seems to be fine, but my pwr window is rattling like it's loose. can hear it rattling as I go past uneven surface.. is this easy to tighten?
  5. There's also BHP, I think japanese use BHP unit rather than HP, they're almost the same but there's a slight difference, can't remember the factor.
  6. Actually I think atmospheric pressure is 1 bar or about 14psi? That is the amount of all air above us pressing down on all objects on earth (air has mass and weight as any other materials). This is accepted as the standard pressure. We don't feel the air pressing against our skin or eyes coz our body is designed to adapt to it thru our evolution. Otherwise we'll all b crushed to death by now. So actually NA engine actually runs the same pressure as the atmosphere at full throttle. Turbo engine runs more than the atmospheric level, depending on boost controller. However to make things easier, the atmospheric pressure is set as 0 psi on boost gauges. So if your factory boost gauges shows 7 psi, that means the air pressure going into the engine is the 7 psi above atmospheric pressure... you are running positive pressure.... Sounds confusing, I read that thing from howstuffworks.com, however to avoid further confusion, let's accept that NA engine runs 0 psi (on boost gauge) on full throtle, and factory R33 boost is around +6-7 psi on the boost gauge.
  7. Preston police station????? That's miles away from the section between Darebin-Separation!!! They should've stayed around Northland S/C area, that Albert St... I've caught one of them right after Olympic Hotel scanning cars going north..... skunks! Haven't seen the one that caught me.. that cop must have been lurking somewhere near that pizza takeaway at cnr of Separation, you reckon? In regards to Int'l license, I don't think you got immunity, but usually they're just too damn lazy and won't bother givin you a fine coz (being somewhat unsophisticated) they can't even fill out the proper forms for the paperwork, so why not aim for easier targets... local drivers... :bahaha:
  8. I only went to their site to get some parts... a bit expensive but their service is good and goods usually arrives within 1 week, and they call you if something went wrong or gonna b delayed... For performance info... I read HPI, and of course, the SAU... SAU rocks!!!!!! yeah!!!!
  9. I'm not taking public transport, ask munkeh how the bus service along station st is.... u miss one, u wait 20 mins, u got to the train station, u miss one, u wait another 20 mins... what the... ??? That's why I love driving a car.... For almost 15 years of driving (I first drove a car @15yo where I came from) got pulled over once for running a traffic light which was obscured by a tree branch (police also hid behind that tree), another one time for not having first aid kit in my car... both events in Indonesia, of course I paid them some "unofficial fines" and then they let me go.... One accident, rear ended by an overloaded public minibus in 1993 as their tiny brakes can't stop their overweight cars... Since 1998 when I came to Australia, I got 3 parking fines so far (1 in Camberwell, 1 in Caulfield, 1 in Richmond), 1 speeding fine (last week).. So actually my driving records not that bad huh?
  10. For a cunning govt scheme to gain the more revenue from speeding fine instead of putting the money where they belong (better driver training, better road signs, road surface, etc)... NOT EVEN 1$ IS WORTH GIVING OUT TO THEM!!! dun tell me I'm sooking for "only" $125 compared to your $3000. it's my money, it's your money they're playing with and they're not doing anything to help the society.... look at the way they inforce more speed limits but does not reduce the road toll.... what went wrong ey? Somebody go shoot their brains please! If I ever loose my VIC license (touch wood), I'll drive with my Indonesian license... Yes, it's the same side of the road, and Indonesian license got "Driving License" written on it in English, and recogniseable by VicRoads.
  11. it's kindof a safety thing in the fuel cap, so you don't over tighten it. but the rubber seal around the cap is tight enough to seal any leaks... if they're still good. I get a loud phsssst when opening the fuel cap when it's about 1/4 left. Nothing wrong I guess, as all my previous cars did the same... less phssst noise if you open it up when they're still full or halfway...
  12. was thinking to get my centre dash console in silver (not too shiny) kinda steel coloured silver to match my momo race gearknob. that way I can easily get 300kw at the wheels.... hehehehehehe :bahaha:
  13. I know what, maybe should bring a camera n flash it back at them, that'll give them momentary blindness in the eye! Better off permanent blindness hehehehhe for the sake of human race on earth. I'm off to bed now, enough swearing for one night..... I hope I see all camera skunks die fallen out of their trees in my dreams.... then eaten by rats half alived... just like Kenny (South Park)
  14. it's not gonna do me any good as long as that scum is sitting in the same spot.... I had to go thru there to get to the station anyway, and I bet that stinky skunk will book you even you're doing 61km/h!!!! Look what doxx got 64, 2 less than mine and still cant wipe that greedy $$ drool off their slimy lips
  15. David, I guess you find speeding fines are just as friggin' annoying as junk mails offering porns or quick money scam scheme in your e-mail account eh....? SPEED CAMERA OPERATORS = SPAMMERS SPEEDING FINES = JUNK E-MAILS Now what we all need is that Spam Filter... Road Angel, Radar Detector, Polarising No Plate clear cover, Reflective No Plates, etc.., etc...
  16. so what's american cars then???? burgers?????
  17. I DID NOT vote for Bracks last yr...... n never will until he allows us all 10% tolerance as per ADR... Meanwhile, they all deserve having my sh1t smeared on their faces. I stand my grounds!
  18. I was at work..... Just be careful in that strip between Darebin n Separation... I'm still gonna find that camera and the car... only god can hopefully forbid me what I'm gonna do to it when I found it..... munkeh said he saw the car once, but I reckon they keep changing the car... I might buy a money order to pay the fine, but before I put it in the mail, I'll wipe it off my own cream in the pants before sending it off to them..... Paying for a speeding fine can never be more fun than this!!!! What a great idea, I'm a genius!
  19. That LAW is FLAWED!!!!! One day they'll all pay for what they did!!!!! They can eat my "cursed" money n stuff it up their bums!
  20. I just received my first bloody speeding ticket in the mail!!!!! Some lowest scum aimed a camera at me Sunday afternoon 2 wks ago...... cursed $125 and 1 point for 65 in 60 zone.... I'll put the biggest curse on my money before I hand it over to those bastards.... Hope they'll crash their car or roll over the hill, whatever.... loved to see what happen to one of the Tassie cop car in this month's Motor Mag issue (last page). If I ever find that camera...... on Station St between Darebin & Separation Sts, Fairfield.... That scum will be sorry he/she was born. I'll put a curse on that scum's name on my speeding ticket as well......
  21. This seems to sound very difficult to do... how did those guys at nissan put these steering wheels on our cars, pound 'em in with a huge sledge hammer??? If after all means I still can't get the centre wheel lock nut off or can't yank off the steering wheels, anyone know a good place in Melbourne who has done R33 with HICAS? I dun wanna some "yea, we can do that - they're all the same" backyard accessories shop around the corner mess up my HICAS sensors...
  22. mine used to work, but after I did my manual conversion and got my dash replaced with manual one, it didn't work anymore. If I remove the switch, will it make my car unroadworthy?
  23. mine's a lousy socket set bought $27 at bunnings. I dun think it will hold that much, I'm more worried in breaking the lock in the steering mechanism (when you turn off ignition) than the rachet itself. might need someone to hold the steering steady for me.
  24. Thank's guys... I did use 3/4" but it's a bit loose, probably need to find a metric 19mm socket as 3/4" is 19.05 mm, that .05 mm might make a difference. And of course, I got HICAS boss kit. I don't have 600mm wrench handle, so might be a good idea to find one, mine is short only like 200mm so I guess won't help me give more torque to the nut. And I'll try spraying more WD40 again, may not be long enough last time...
  25. I drove my Skyline everyday to work. Clocked 18,000km in 10 months time (since last april 2002)
