  1. INASNT, I'm after the 320km/h speedo from Nismo, which has greenish colour backlight (the numbers only). So Apexi EL gauge is out of the question, and I am going with Trust gauge as the backlight colours match the Nismo speedo nicely as shown by 400HP's picture above....
  2. Wouldn't it be better to use RB26DETT, as it could use a little bit more power n torque to counter the power loss thru 4wd drivetrain... Maybe even a 2JZGTE from supra hehe, but hybrid will be more expensive to work on as engine mounts, gearbox may not fit and need some hacking.
  3. If cruise starts too late, what to see along beach rd? shouldn't there be nice view along the way, wouldn't it better to start right before sunset? Maybe call this the "sunset strip cruise"

  5. yeah, by the way one of my neighbours has an old Ford Escort with leaking exhuast, and everytime it drove by it's SO LOUD you can still hear it after a block a way... Even louder than a Harley for you guys to imagine.... Kaboom... boom... vroom... vroom... clank... clonk.. vroom.. boom.. :burnout: So my exhaust would still sound like musical heaven compared to his. :lol:
  6. I reckon R33 GTS4 is pretty rare isn't it... I only seen one in a dealer and it's even an automatic Needs lots of conversion to be done to make it a baby GT-R... As it's 4WD, the shell would probably take a GT-R gearbox too, so you can buy one if you found it anyway and then chuck in RB26DETT+gearbox and you got a cheap R33 GT-R...
  7. Yeap, I've heard a N1 on R32 with n without silencer. It does reduce the noise... dunno if it is as claimed by Apexi: reduce by 7db... but exhaust flow will be reduced though... That's why hi flow exhaust like competition muffler will always be straight thru, no silencer, no resonator... but VERY LOUD My MX Trust has 110mm tip, wonder if I chuck Apexi N1's optional silencer on to my Trust model as it's also 110mm. Just to silent it down even more again... kinda "stealth mode" exhaust... but will see till I put it on my car and how loud it is. Dun wanna neighbours start complaining, even worse, 1 building away of my house is an elderly house... so I gotta be careful not to rev my car too hard with aftermarket exhaust or I may get a letter from EPA.

  9. thx 400hp, I've been lookin for that pic somewhere. I can't think where you put your boost gauge.... pillar mount should be on the right, or you mount it somewhere to the left of the steering wheel? Or your car is left hand drive?

If your exhaust 100% like the one pictured, I reckon it will be LOUD... there's no sufficient size middle pipe resonator, and even the rear muffler does not look like it really dampens the sound... but I'm sure it will give you a good flow though for high boost/power applications... Don't bother abt the resonator, it may not do much for noise dampening as it's not as effective as a proper resonator. My Trust MX has just arrived, not yet on the car, looks very similar to the pic below. I'm sure mine will be a quiet one as there are two resonators there and 80mm (3") pipe will still give me a good flow...
  11. I need to replace some suspension bushes on my car first, if it's finished before the 10th, I sure would like to come along since haven't been on a cruise for some time.... But please, not those bumpy rides at kangaroo ground again... I'm sure it'll only do more damages to your car's shock & suspension, not to mention loose screws on various body bits n pieces everywhere.... Since it's night time cruise, I reckon would somewhere be around the fav cruise strips, st kilda, city?
  12. Hey Jay... Does your Nismo speedo cluster comes with all the warning lights like ABS, HICAS,etc? Since it is meant to be for a GT-R, if installed on a GTS-t, will the ATESSA (4 WD system) warning light comes on????
  13. First, I won't be doing much night driving, mostly day only. So white face nismo will look great at daytime when I do my driving most. Secondly, the nismo speedo lights up in greenish backlit, so I won't buy Apexi boost gauge coz I don't want one thing light up in blue and don't match up with others. So I will go with Trust white face boost gauge, which has the similar colour with Nismo backlit at night. I'm sure someone mentioned this in other thread I can't seem to find which one again. Anyway, my car's wine red so theme-wise I don't feel it will match well with apexi's glowing blue lights at night... so my choice are fix: Nismo speedo & Trust gauge combination... thx everyone for the input.
  14. I'm talkin 'bout matching Nismo speedo at night and Trust white face boost gauge at night... since I think trust boost gauge backlight is not blue so they will match.
  15. thx nissaner... so trust boost gauge is definitely DOES NOT have blue backlighting, right? Cause I wanna match the colour white face when it's off (daylight) and the colour of backlighting when it's on (night time)

Does anyone know the backlight colours on these items: - Nismo's white face 320km speedo cluster - Trust white face boost gauge I know Apexi Boost Gauge has blu-ish backlight colour, so if Nismo speedo has the same blu-ish backlight colour, then it will match Apexi perfectly. Not sure about Trust boost gauge.
  17. What? you think I haven't read the book??? I have read all three of them in fact... What I mean was how the movie is gonna be like, in terms of how they are going to describe the scene from the book to vision.... the way they design Isengard, Helm's Deep, Rivendell, the crater of mount doom itself, the way the landscape looks... What the battle scene looks like, what the spider that stung Frodo looks like.... No one will know until the 3rd one.... unless they release a sneak preview.
  18. I've seen it, the battle scene was awesome, although for the ent creatures I expected something a bit more tremendous, not just some walking big chopsticks as how I see them... The way the orcs invades Helm's Deep looks more like the Roman troops way of battle... don't you guys think? I liked the 1st one better due to the fact that it shows more nice places & buildings of Hobbiton, Rivendell, Moria, etc... but since the 2nd part is mostly happening around Gondor/Rohan/Isengard, so I can't protest that it only shows the barren landscape in that area.... Great battle scene is the main feature of 2nd part... Wonder what the 3rd would be like.
  19. Spending big $$$ on looks will be wasted if u smash ur car coz u can't handle it around corners, for example. But spending $$$ on power mods will even be more suicidal if you can't handle it either. Stock suspension is already good enough for daily driving even for corner handling, unless you really want to go serious with circuit racing, drag race or drifting, then upgrade your suspension accordingly. Maybe investing in a driver training course might also be good idea. It's not only just for beginner, even seasoned drivers can learn a few new things from it. I have been driving for 14 years (since 1988), and only 2 light accidents during the first years of driving my small powered car with 1.0 litre 4-cyl engines. All my other (higher powered) cars during the past 10 years have been totally accident-free. Still, I am signing up for a one day intensive advance driving session after the New Year. I am sure I will still learn a thing or two from it. Will let you all know how it goes and if it's worth the money... If it's good, I will sign up a 2nd stage advance driving (slalom skill), then 3rd stage (circuit racing). They're expensive (expect to spend close to $900 for all 3 levels) so will see how the first one goes...
  20. There's been too much Skylines n theyre everywhere... On the way back from ICE performance last Tuesday I saw one black R33 in Warragul Rd, then a yellow one, in fact mine (Red) and the yellow R33 cruised side-by-side together on the Monash Freeway on inside & outside line passing other slower cars which r kinda look cool... We parted as I have to exit at burnley and he goes straight.

  23. 7000rpm launch in an auto????? easy....... Stop and let it idle... Shift the gear selector to neutral.... Rev up to 7000rpm n hold it there..... Shift the gear selector to D (Drive) BUT..... Not recommended if you have auto gearbox as I don't think the torque converter will hold and dunno what damage it will do... Just don't do it if you still like your car.
  24. How did you find ur Trust Pwr Extreme 2? Loud? Quiet? Any drone? Deep sound?
  25. The only thing with Trust is it doesn't have any markings on it except the JASMA certification plate. You only got a piece of paper if you buy new to prove that it's a Trust item Mine just arrived... At least the muffler barrel not that big so it won't hit the speedbumps near my workplace....
