  1. Anyone know if Trust exhaust louder than Apex N1? What about Greddy, they're not the same brands, or are they?
  2. I also had a few whirring noise on cold startup, even worse steering make horrible sound when turning... I thought my front steering assembly is about to go or even pwr steering pump abt to die, or some belt is getting loose... Then I noticed.... power steering fluid a bit low. So I top it up then..... I never heard that sound since again, cold or hot don't matter anymore...
  3. If you convert your car from auto to manual, will insurance company still cover you for this? Well, you let them know.. perhaps they will charge extra premium?
  4. Basically, if we do the maths.... 4.3/4.1=1.049 (4.9% increase) So if a manual skylines doing +/- 2500rpm at 100km/h, then with a 4.3 diff it should be doing 2622rpm at the same speed... Also means top speed will be reduced by 5%... But at 250 or 270km/h @ 7000rpm, anyone would be mad to try that
  5. oh, another "stupid" question.... is 4.3 diff theoretically stronger than 4.1 diff ? or is it just affecting the acceleration and engine rev at certain speed.
  6. Neil, I may be interested as I might do conversion work on my car from auto to manual. However mine only done 44,000kms dunno how easy and legal it is to wind the odo back to 44,000 before putting it on my car. Therefore I can keep track when to service my car and when the timing belt due, etc.
  7. Thx for the info Meggala... I can then keep my diff, no point spending $$ on a manual diff then. That would not throw my speedo accuracy away, isn't it??? Cause speed sensor is not taken from the rear wheels? MrMayhem, if the ABS sensor IS on the nose of the diff, then I might as well keep my diff as sourcing a 2nd hand manual diff I might end up getting a non ABS one. But I think ABS sensor should be on the 4 wheels, coz on the diff doesn't make sense to me, as a good ABS system should be able to apply different brake pressure to different wheels depending which one is locking.
  8. Is this a speedo from manual or automatic car?
  9. Hi Akira, Will you be interested in selling the manual conversion kit separately? Will it fit a 2-door GTS-t and what parts are included in the kit you mentioned above?
  10. Do you know what happen if I convert to manual n did not change my auto diff to a proper manual diff? Is there any difference between R33 diff from cars with ABS and cars without ABS?
  11. Before I continue on.. Thank's guys for all the inputs... I am now getting tempted with the idea to do conversion, mainly because: - My car is in pretty much immaculate condition - Sunroof & my favorite red colour - ABS which is hard to find in series 1 - Dealers only quote my car's trade-in values as low as $10K due to the fact that it's auto. Even if I add mag wheels and 3" exhaust on it, they will only give me $1500 extra top, means I only get $11,500 out of it which really suxxx. - Private selling was only expected to reach $14-15K only.. because now dealers can sell autos at $19K including 3yr warranty, etc. So no one will pay that high for auto anymore. However I also noted that the manual & auto skyline's diff ratio are different. The build plate says RC43 for auto (4.3 diff) and manual got RC41 (4.1 diff). Does this mean that I also need the diff????? This sounds getting very expensive... Does anyone know if I have to change my diff from 4.3 to 4.1 as well?
  12. I dun really think you need a harness, its just to make it easier like plug n play hardware on your computer... if you know which wire to tap into, no need for harness. Just peel of the skin on the correct wire, connect your SAFC wire end, secure it with a few twist if you're desperate but best result is solder it permanently, then finally wrap it with some insulation tape.
  13. Yep, some ppl dun deserve to drive a car... I met someone who bought his R33 +/- 8 months ago from an overseas student who just left the country. The previous owner never even changed the oil since 1999!!! That's bad....
  14. Well, I think EBC is pricewise... If I'm selling my car, the mechanic who does RWC will ask to replace the pads anyway (all of them wanna make money), so I gotta replace pads coz they're almost due. I can hear metal schreeching a bit when moving forward slightly n applying light brake
  15. I'm changing my brakes soon!!! Still waiting delivery of front EBC brake pads, as it will be in stock Tuesday. Apparently EBC pads are made in England....
  16. how much price u're asking?
  17. Yeap, 3 is the sensor number which must be set into In & Out settings. Unless you are doing a GT-R single airflow meter conversion, then In & Out would be different values. That's what I read in SAFC manual and they give an example on a GT-R n 300ZX I think...
  18. 400HP, by referring to the SAFC setup chart, if In/Out sensor numbers are different, the manual will give two numbers i.e. 2/4. If only one number is given, in case of R33, set both In/Out the same numbers. Good to hear that now ur SAFC is working fine :-)
  19. Depends on what car you have. I assume if u have R33 GTS-t then In and Out settings have the same sensor number.
  20. dun u think better leave it to the mechanic, coz if u mess up ur timing, ur valve will hit ur cylinder head n bang goes ur engine... even if you manage to install em urself, as long as you noted the correct position of the cam before changing it, u still need to tune the timing on dyno anyway....
  21. I dun think so. The mounting point for the barrel of the muffler for R32 is somewhat like this (seen from the side at an angle): --, --, / / /^^^^) OO OOO000000000 uuuuu) Like 2 hooks reaching upwards. For R33 is like this (wider to the sides at level heights): ----, ,----- /^^^^) OO OOO000000000 uuuuu) Unless you modify mounting points, I dun think you can fit it.
  22. Browsing thru J-Spec auction list.... What is the difference between 180SX : - Type S - Type R - Type X ???? Which one turbo/non-turbo, etc...?
  23. Considering Nissan is trying to relive the Z legend with the new 350Z (Z33), is it possible that getting a 1st or 2nd generation of a restored 240/260/280ZX cars becomes a good investment down the track???
  24. hey Denham, you managed to find eyelids for ur car....! if only its real enuf heheheh... photochop eh?
  25. Get a speed cut n Nismo's 320km speedo, to get figures for redline speed on 5th gear... That is if anyone is brave enough to try.... Disclaimer: I do not encourage excessive driving speed nor dangerous behaviour on public street.
