Twin turbo not a 100% guarantee for zippiness. Remember B4 is a heavier, more luxurious car & totally a different car to WRX. Motoring magazines keep saying that the sequence of 1st & 2nd turbo in B4 is not that great, too much lag, prob enough time for you to sip a cuppa between boost . Still not as good as GT-R's or Supra's sequential tt system. But WRX, different story, can't argue abt its performance, its lighter, so can go faster.

After being a manual driver for 12 years, I had my first R33 auto.... now I wish to go back to manual again... R33 manual for sure. R34 is now still too expensive, n R32 styling is a bit too outdated for my taste. Should I: - Do conversion with the help of skyline specialists like ICE, etc.? Problem is I dun have time to hunt for parts nor enough mechanical knowledge of parts, so it's gonna be expensive to ask someone else do all the shopping! Prob up to $6K... or - Trade in at the dealer (dunno how much they're gonna value my 93 R33 auto with sunroof) and prob pay lots difference (could be up to $10K) for a good replacement? or - Sell privately, then import thru J-Spec/Geoff etc? Coz too bad importers don't do trade-ins. Problem is ppl have only been offering my R33 up to $16K only, even tho it's in exc cond, 44000kms & got a great audio/alarm on it. I believe I should get more than $16K! or - Bite the dust n suffer? Wait 3 more years or so till the car fell apart or till I got enough $$$ for a 2nd hand 350Z of less than 2 yrs old?

I agree with you predator666, however this path would probably suit those who got manual gearboxes, as powerFC, eManage, Microtech, MRT and the likes all only works with manual cars. If you have an automatic transmission like some of us do, it may require another approach like this replacement chip. Powerchip said that their chip will work with automatic transmission cars. It confirms as their previous courtesy car was an auto V8 Commie (see my previous post) with Powerchip installed. Here is their reply to me: Too bad they won't do any group purchase. You can contact them on the number above, they're in Melbourne but will do interstate delivery and installation at approved installer australia-wide.

What does space invader actually does to ruin the car?

Skylines (GTST) vs silvias, 180sx, 200sx
rs73 replied to mac30's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I agree with you in regards to interior. One of the reasons why I bought skyline is I liked the interior better than FTO (almost bought that one). FTO may have sexier body, but I HATED the interior as it squeezed on me, I sat with the car dealer on test drive and we are rubbing shoulders!!!!!! And I'm not even 6' high!! R33's interior is more livable, as it's more spacious and looks a bit more modern than R32 or early 180sx. But again, it depends on indiv's preference... I like interior styling circa mid 90s or later, anything older than that, I felt pretty drab. -

Meggala, The pic shows it's 5 stud wheel? And the owner's been no good with that car, the rear bar seems to have been smashed prob when drifting... My parent indeed almost bought one back home, but since Nissan's used car value is very poor there, they didn't buy it. But I wouldn't care as Indonesian version of Cefiro are ALL non turbo. (Back then there was still restriction on luxury and/or any cars larger than 3.0 litre engine due to the old regim govt's crap abt creating social gaps between the poors n riches) -
I believe the power increase is possible as it is only 15% increase from 187 to 215kw. Even after drivetrain loss, at least you'll feel it in the mid range. With air & exhaust change, it would even felt better. I had one of their chip in my previous car, a 93 Mitsu Galant SE Hatchback with 4G63 2.0 SOHC engine (????) No one outside australia ever known a 4G63 2.0 SOHC, as everywhere else in the world seems to have DOHC. That is the reason why I could not get any aftermarket parts from big names like Apexi/Greddy/HKS, etc. Even air filter is not available until our local Unifilter "came to the rescue". Anyway, with stock exhaust & Unifilter panel foam air filter, I noticed difference in mid range power (It was N/A engine). I enjoyed it for a while. Sadly the car has to go, because I find it's getting harder to find aftermarket mods for such a rare car. A$900 seems a fair deal if u dont want to spend $2000+ for powerFC or any other aftermarket chips which seems to be around $1500 mark. With extra pocket change, you could get exhaust/pod filter which would be performance bargain, as long as you're not too ambitious on the kw gain. PS: I am not afiliated with powerchip, just expressing my own experience with them. Great cust service too, they gave me a V8 SS Commonwh*res (yeah, yeah, I know wat u guys feelin) as courtesy car for the day. Note: For those who has auto skylines, I'm finding out if the chip works with auto gearbox. If it does, then maybe this is one option to upgrade your ECU, as powerFC and most chips alike dont work with auto R33 (according to HPI magazine). I'll post updates once I found out from them. I am sure it will work, as their V8 SS is an auto & it has powerchip in it.

What is the limit of PM box is it by the number of message (e.g 25 messages) or does size matter (long/short message)?

Get a Ferrari and no one can argue with that....... it'll be so true, with or without any punctuation placements :burnout:

I think the 4 door GTS-t has 3 seats at the back like other sedan...
-
just curious about this auto locking feature........ locking ur passenger in your car without his/her permission: kidnapping?? can we be exposed to such litigation?
-
after installing my alarm my door also does that. turn on engine, it will both locks and turn off engine it will both unlocks. if for some reason the passenger is unlocked, like someone getting off, then it will lock itself again when I drive over 20km/h. I like this feature for security purpose.

gee meggala... I just got home from work n see ur post... good that no one was hurt. it was pretty slippery road too in the afternoon as it rained... hope u'll get ur car fixed soon with no major hassle!
-
yeap, and accurate or not, I dun think I can live in my car without taking occasional glimpse of my boost reading when accelerating...
-
but I think the Nismo GT-R speedo won't have the boost gauge, so if you put it in your GTS-t, you're gonna have to have a separate aftermarket boost gauge if you wanna see how much boost you're making.

He really hit a jackpot doesn't he? Gee, awful lotta money to pay for a classic! But I guess these cars will continue appreciate in value coz collectors are after them....
-
what't the difference between 1N4 & KL0 then?
-
anyone still top up their fuel tank with octane booster even after using hi octane fuel like BP/Synergy/Optimax? any gains in performance?
-
What abt TGF Performance in Cheltenham? Kamikaze? Leisure Car? Gran Turismo Auto (Spencer St Melb)? hmm.. what else...
-
I ran mine on BP Ultimate, they said guaranteed to be 98 octane at least.... I ran it on Optimax once in a while when I'm running low n no BP seen around, but the next chance I got, I'm back on BP's juice. Only used Mobil Synergy once but didn't notice difference. But car felt difference between BP & Optimax, BP gives me more midrange power.

maybe should put a wider rim for 225 at the back so match the tyre width? otherwise if all tyres the same, it'll be easier to swap front to back for tyre rotation purpose
