DBA4963 is for R33 Gtst and is equivalent to RDA7693. This has around 54 or 55mm offset which in earlier discussion is the wrong offset for Stagea S2. RDA954 has 49mm offset which should be the CORRECT offset for Stagea S2. It comes in 296mm so what you need to do is shave off (machine) 6mm off the OD so it becomes 290mm.

The V Series Spotted Thread

has anyone spotted any V36 sedans, or are they all coupes? PMS told me compliance is available but it doesn't seem anyone importing them and not one was seen advertised for sale locally -
on 2nd note, RDA908 is 297mm OD and based on this discussion it needs to be machined down to 292mm (shave 5mm off the OD). RDA now have a 292mm OD rotors for 350z touring non brembo rear, with part number RDA7657 However looking at the spec DBA4908/RDA908 has 63mm offset while RDA7657 has 62mm offset. Another issue is the RDA7657 thickness is only 16mm as opposed to DBA4908/RDA908 has 18mm thickness. I am not sure if 1mm offset and 2mm thickness differences will cause an issue or not, so anyone tried using RDA7657 ? The DBA equivalent is DBA574 (292mm od x 16mm thick x 62mm offset).

correct. S indicated slotted model. DBA4908 is RDA908S (slotted)

RDA954 & DBA4963 (RDA7693) are both 296mm OD so both need to be machined down OD if you're persistent) However DBA4963 (RDA7693) has the wrong offset and therefore based on that post above, you should probably disregard using this rotor and go for RDA954 which has the right offset. I think this has been discussed earlier in this thread it is just so hard to track down 29 pages thick.

yeah, that would suck big having our cars washed only to be rained down a few mins later... but if anyone doing a cut & polish that'll be the ultimate test as a good polish would cause the rainwater droplets to fall off the car like pearl droplets, leaving the car virtually 'dry'
-
just a quick check - this still happening? any list of who wants car wash, and how much, ie interior, exterior, cut & polish (any mates rates)?

No V35 (I'm overseas so can't bring mine) at all, and no R35?

damn, are v35 really gonna be as common sooner than I thought... time for V36 anyone? :-) -
if it fails and you ever decided to buy a pair of new headlights, for whatever reasons do not buy USDM Infiniti G35 headlights, as they're designed for LHD and will shine your lights towards oncoming drivers instead of towards the pedestrian. If it causes an accident your insurer will deny any cover.

siu_loong_bau had a good thread about polishing his headlights. do a search on the V-series forum

just curious, what's the reason most aftermarket chooses 2ohm ? are less resistance result to more powerful sound ? what would happen if putting 2ohm speaker system on a factory's amp that feeds to oem 4ohm speakers? will it overload or underload?

In my car I used HiTV brand, so far it work alright.

There are no difference in regards to imports or australian delviered vehicles when it comes to roadworthy just go to Vicroads website www.vicroads.vic.gov.au go into rules standard & regulations, and click on roadworthiness. take your pick from list of licensed workshops there. I did mine in a normal pop & mom garage next to my old office. there is no difference whether your car is an import or not. they will check on brake wear, tyre wear, headlights and indicator operations, seatbelts are not frayed, general engine & exhaust quality (e.g. no leaking oil, no black smokes). basically just how would they treat a roadworthy on a toyota camry, really.

Well envy if you must... I think I will top up my own high score in spotting the white R35 GTR on Tuesday. Today I spotted another white one in flesh - in fact - I actually drove it... Blasting around open freeways in a foreign country where speed limit is not enforced in a draconian way, it is such a phenomenal experience... very strong response from the 3.8ltr engine and hell knows how much grunt of horses of apocalypse it packed under that innocent white bonnet... However I must say the GTR is also, beside a joyful car to drive, a bloody pain in the ass around town especially in traffic jam. Reversing is a nightmare with a limited visibility and a DSG gearbox that won't roll the car backwards when brake pedal is released, instead it will lunge backward as soon as accelerator is depressed slightly, similar in a fashion of any cars with twin/triple plate race clutch fitted. 1st to 2nd shift wasn't smooth either, similar to M3 gearbox, which just hammers with an aggression... and in auto-mode, there is still a delay between putting the foot down and kicking down a gear or two down for overtaking... but the following hit in face kind of G-force that launch the car forward kinds of made up to it. I ended up playing with paddle shifter which is better and quicker response, and setting the shocks to comfort (which doesn't help much) as some areas have badly surfaced roads even worse than the corrugated road surface in Melbourne. Will I buy it? If I have the cash, and another daily car, yes. If I have the cash but I only have to choose one car as daily and weekenders, no. GTR is a road version of a race car, it is not a road car in essence. -
I think the speedo correction is only related to the speed displayed when you're in navigation mode (which again only works in Japan) I can't remember seeing anywhere in the live computer trip/fuel consumption screen showing the current speed travelled. Don't think it's gonna do adjustment to your actual speedo needle on the dashboard. But gyro sensitivity would be intriguing to find out as my compass is out of whack by about 90 degree (as Chris said the further south in the hemisphere you are, the bigger the discrepancies) because it's designed to work for the northern hemisphere

on top of that, I read somewhere that even ambulance or fire fighter officer can report your car and EPA will send you a notice straight away. or if you get spotted by EPA officers themselves - my old R33 got reported that way. drove side by side with a white car with EPA logo on the door in the traffic jam. the only exception is if it's general public member, then EPA / police will have to do some kind of an investigation or wait until similar reports happened that matches the description of your car before taking action.

Suppose to, but if you know which wire to cut/trip then... but in anyway if you get caught watching TV while driving = huge fine also even if you don't get fine, I found it's very distracting. The best you can do is to shut down the screen (close it down) and just listen to the sound, which will only work with news tv channel such as ABC or listening to some sport commentator over a match , e.g. on One HD. any other than that that involves moving pictures it's totally recommended against unless you wanna hit something and ruin your day (and your license)

The V Series Spotted Thread
rs73 replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Is there an 'R' spotted thread? I think I scored a big one - spotted a white R35 GTR this morning around 8:20am, turning from Lonsdale St to Elizabeth St in the city, driving towards Bourke St. -
I second that. There were people asking me info about V35 and they kind of being 'put off' when they learnt that the information screen is all in a language they can't understand.
-
From what my rather vague understanding of the Japanese kanji translation FM would be a service (only available in Japan) that allows news-flash or information be displayed on screen, e.g. traffic information, road works, accidents, or perhaps even any general news/advertising. Even if that screen is translated, it would be of little to no use for us (most likely to no use).
-
Question Andy, If you set your service interval to every 500km for example, and you reached the distance, does the popup alert also gets translated in English, or is it still popping up with Japanese? Reason i asked is because I still see a little bit untranslated japanese text at the bottom of the screen in picture 2 & 3
