Nightcrawler, that looks very good. on a quick peek might look like you have brembo calipers :-) what colour type / code did you use by the way? allthewaytotheskyline, quote sent

when the brake shop did my rear rotors they said it took longer than the front. the rear could be a b1tch to work with... front is always easier...
-
release handbrake. handbrake drums might be pressing the inner drum of the rotors, making it too tight to remove. it can get sticky, from all those age old rust and dirt and grime get stuck in between. use rubber mallet. sledgehammer is a bit extreme... :-)

anything on garmin ? -
gee, even for a brembo sized rotors, they look puny for the body of a huge Stagea... makes you think if the non-brembo factory brakes are under-designed or not...

R32 GTR rear came in 297mm standard with hat height around 62mm. Sydney Kid's 1st post on this thread mentioned having to machine the od by 5mm, bringing it down to 292mm. RDA / DBA now have 350Z non brembo rear which is 292mm with hat height around 63mm so this can be fitted with RDA7657 instead of RDA908 and save the mocking around with either modifying the backing plate (dust shield) to fit larger rotor or to machine down the OD to fit under the stock backing plate. Sorry for multiple replies, I used to follow this thread and just got back on to it and find these findings quite interesting!

I did similar conversion on my V35 early model non-brembo which uses the same rotors sa non-brembo early 350Z. No problems and fits straight on - fitted by professional brake shop. I would imagine M35 would be able to take that upgrade path providing your stock M35 came with the non-brembo early 350Z rotors front to back. Finding a set of brembo caliper would be a challenge as they don't come up everyday and pricey.

Interesting find... If S2 Stagea comes with front 290mm rotors from factory , as long as the hat height is similar, the 954S might fit even though it's 296mm, providing you have ample of space between original rotor and the caliper. 290mm to 296mm increase is only 3mm larger on all radial direction. it's not much... That said it solves the problem using R33 Gtst front rotors which has the wrong 'offset'. The hat height on R33 Gtst rotors is 53.75 or sometimes 54mm depending on manufacturer (e.g. DBA vs RDA), while the 350Z rotor has a hat height around 49.2mm or 50mm roughly, which from the above fitments look like the right offset for Stagea!

looks like unfortunately doing anything without the introduction of forced induction is never worth it... or the standard of "worth it" should be totally adjusted by a factor 3x when comparing to the world of turbocharged engines... the big game with non forced-induction engine would probably displacement... big bore mods to 3.8ltr is probably what's worth it if you don't want to go down the s/c or turbo path

8am Sat 6th? i might hang around, hardly anywhere else to go there except brekkie @ Macca. should I get a new pair of bulbs? as I don't know if my two bulbs are actually working or has accidentally had fingerprints on them when the RAWS removed them. they were just lying around in the plastic bag with all the other bits and bobs from the ballast / ignitors. -

is sat morning enough to rewire my HID ballast & check/recalibrate the cc? :-p if not enough time no worries then, still need to find a way to amplify that nav sound without introducing engine noise interference, am I like a chronic disease, chris? -
at least still $300 cheaper than what riverside is gonna charge me for shipping. no Nissan sideskirts, only a set of 4 mud guards, which already cost $500 from japanparts. nuts price, I know... but Nismo have sideskirts for V35, but recently it's not on japanparts anymore, most likely has been obsolete/no longer produced. the only one left is the nismo rear wing. so if that's gonna be obsolete soon, $2k could be quite "worth" it for a 'collector's item' LOL... depends how you see it... I had a look at both winged & wingless V35 coupe, I actually prefer the wingless look, so that's why I'm not getting the rear spoiler.
-
below $1k incl shipping shipping cost as much as the part itself. it sucks but hey nothing we can do about it, we're not in the era where 1AUD=100JPY anymore... so anything done now is just a complete blow out of budget i didn't get price for the rear, but the price is there on their website, not including shipping, work out to be less than AU$900. put in shipping, then think $1.5k for a genuine Nissan spoiler, while the Nismo spoiler will easily be $2k delivered or more. makes you think now that even factory parts are worth a huge fortune...
-
gee... I reckon the whole thing that went wrong is having the car being reassembled in a hurry due to receiving parts late? if they had more time on the car would they do a better job?
-
Unfortunately Blistc is right on the money there... Whoever told you got Nismo stuff don't know the difference between a hazelnut and an almond nut. You have factory nissan front spoiler and factory nissan rear spoiler. I'm actually ordering that exact front spoiler from japanparts, but i'm not getting the rear spoiler. not a fan of wings, really. here is factory NISSAN rear spoiler: and here is NISMO rear spoiler - elevated with gaps between the boot and the wing... you can tell the difference straight away.... factory Nissan front lip = what you have NISMO front lip - the protruding lip section is smaller and 'sharper' towards the bottom of the lips, and there was no curving up on the rounded corner of both sides that wraps around the bumper...

that rims looks alright, why you'd wanna change it? what sort of looks u got in mind?

if you go to My Controls, upper RH corner, then on the left sidebar go to Board Settings, make sure the "Disable Personal Messenger" section is set to No. Setting it to Yes will disable your personal messenger. if still doesn't work, email me: rsoputro at hotmail dot com (replace the obvious words above with the proper symbols, you know the drill - spam prevention) i'll send you a quote soon.

Glad to hear. Killabeez, check your pm. Yes S13 rear is available. Musky, the choice for upgrading the rear or not is totally up to you. I had front slotted on my old R33 Gtst and std rear as well. No problems.

the gold passivated material itself is only as important as a pretty girl gotta put up a makeup before leaving the house. cosmetics surface rust looks ugly if you don't have a lockup garage, car exposed to humidity outside, and you didn't use the car on daily basis. extreme amount of surface rust may score the rotor surface, so you may need to machine it more often if it's too badly rusted. However, other than cosmetics, the gold passivated rotors come in a different pattern called the grooved & dimpled. The extra dimples acts similar to drilled rotors cooling system, especially under constant hard braking use. While drilled rotors are prone to cracking due to materials remove and reducing the strength, the dimples (or blind drilled holes) maintain the rotor strength to minimise chance of cracking under extreme use... Again if you only drive your car on the street, going Gold Passivated should only be considered as cosmetic purposes. Because on the street, even a lead foot driver in the start stop traffic would not be applying extreme enough demand on the rotors... only track use would bring the demand up there.
