If your skyline is R33 gtst you won't get much out of it as the market is overflooded with R33 now, I see them a few times on daily basis. ball park figure about 1/2 to 2/3rd of whatever the Jazz is worth regardless how much mods you put into the line (except perhaps if you have a 800HP engine and a pro 11sec drag setup). sell the Jazz you'll get more money. but it could be false economy as running cost (insurance, petrol, etc) is more expensive on the R33 than the Jazz. Plus trying to sell a skyline is always take a lot longer than common shopping trolleys like Corolla, Echo, Civic or Jazz. Or you can advertise both. See whichever sold first, most likely will be the Jazz. We were advertising all 3 cars, R33, my wife's corolla, my bro in law's Mazda SP23 when we're moving house. Corolla sold first in less than 2 weeks. Millions of enthusiastic inquiries. SP23 sold second after a couple of months. quite a few inquiries. my R33 sold a year later with shitty price. lots of time wasters inquiries. and I can't believe I bought a skyline again. I'm scared to think when the day arrives to sell - I might be going through the same time wasters again for months... skyline is addictive. easy to catch, hard to shake off.

V35 On 350z Suspension- Camber Issue Eliminated?
rs73 replied to anff's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I could've sworn you dropped the front a further 1 or 2cm.... the Now pic seems to be a lot lower at the front than After pic. -

V35 On 350z Suspension- Camber Issue Eliminated?
rs73 replied to anff's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
what have you done between after and now? apart from the rims, of course -
Tempting... I haven't bought HPI for ages since my R33 was sold 2 years ago... almost forgotten about this magazine!

It doesn't make any difference. Centre holes are for ventilation. Brake Pads never made contact to the inner ventilation surfaces, as long as total thickness from outside to inside is the same as factory, it will be a perfect thickness fit for the caliper/pads. By the time your rotors are worn 2mm (only 1mm each side) it is already down to the minimum thickness and you will need to replace it.

Question For Skyline V35 Track Owners
rs73 replied to rs73's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
less weight at the back, less downforce, rear tyre lift and swing around as not much traction... sounds like it. if you track your car a lot perhaps try adjustible rear spoiler on the boot to generate a bit more downforce. -
Where To Get Audio For The V35 Installed?
rs73 replied to V35 Matt's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
any car is a moneypit. the difference is where the money pit are going towards. buy an Alfa and you'll spend lots of dosh on repairs - if you caught my other post in VIC forum, my bro in law's Alfa is not fixed yet after so many wks. buy an M3 and you'll spend lots of dosh on annual insurance - I almost bought one, insurance was quoted $3.5k, I bailed. Mind you that's for 35yo R1 with almost perfect history (1 or 2 fines over 10 yr). with R33 the money pit goes towards power mods - which I spent $15k on top of my car with V35 the money pit goes towards huge rims and gadgets (dvd, tv, ipod, and perhaps in-car internet???) - which so far I've spent like $8k The only exception is Toyota. So far we haven't spent anything on our RAV4 except regular service. For some reason owning Toyotas usually don't inspire people to turn it into a moneypit. (Except perhaps if you own a TT Supra and Celicas) -

Where To Get Audio For The V35 Installed?
rs73 replied to V35 Matt's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
#1 - require new 2 din facia, and your ac control may have to be rewire. expensive facia considering exchange rate. may loose your factory screen too, but give u wide choice in 2-din unit #2 - do u mean dvd rom in upper glove box? u cannot replace it without loosing all audio / video. that thing is the brain. u'll be better off doing #1, or have the dvd rom relocated somewhere else, ie iunder passenger seat but that require someone with genius rewiring skill. not for the faint hearted. Welcome to the world of V35... u can add to the system via aux, leave it, or rip it all out. I got navi plus dtv tuner and dvd changer in boot all added via aux in. -
any update?

Question For Skyline V35 Track Owners
rs73 replied to rs73's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thank's Edwin... That is a real worry, Nissan provides a spare wheel that doesn't fit the front! That would make changing flat tyre at the front very troublesome as you'll have to move both rear wheels to the front (for steering balance), and put the spare and one of the good front tyre at the back... Thank's, I will try to find the 17" spare wheel through Nissan, if not perhaps I will take the plunge and try Infiniti USA's G37's 18" spare wheel. Maybe it will fit the front. expensive though. -
Nope, however Al did somewhat similar brake line group buy from Maltech, a company in Geelong who produces good ADR approved braided brake lines. I'm not sure if it's still on or not... http://www.maltech.com.au/

it was arranged straight from RDA. They use either TNT road express or AAE couriers, or any other. Could be either one... I'm not sure what they use these days.

glad to hear... Next Group Buy (closing 25th Feb) #43 - sheng (payment received)

true, braking is mostly due to weight transfer, being FWD or RWD have less effect. however when increasing the size of the brakes, I found most FWD kit will only provide bigger brakes for the front, and not to the rears. reason is because FWD cars have no powers going to the rear and increasing the rear rotor size may cause a lockup and could be dangerous. On the contrary, AWD and RWD big brake kits are usually available for both front and rear, and recommended to increase the rotor size both front and back at the same time, although for V35 Nismo creates a 355mm front brake upgrade with F50 brembos that can be fitted to V35 with brembo 324mm, without upgrading existing rear 322mm. Though, non brembo owners were strongly advised to upgrade rear non-brembo brakes from 292mm to 322mm brembo ones before fitting the Nismo big brake kit. otherwise it won't be balanced. But at this economic situation, it will be very expensive to buy this big brake kit from Japan. It used to cost like $6k delivered when Aus was 86JPY now I dare not to calculate. probably $10k. Best upgrade if you want bigger size is to find 350Z brembo or G35 brembo from USA. This is straight fit, but be wary of the shipping cost and exchange rate. Plus if you swap to bigger brake size and caliper, your spare wheel won't fit. You need to buy 350Z track brembo spare wheel from Nissan. Not sure how much they'll charge for that. I am yet to make an enquiries to Nissan about it. Have anyone tried R33/R34 GTR brembo kit if they'll fit a V35? However the R33 GTR colour will be black so it doesn't look 'right'.

Thinking About Selling My V35 ... :( :(
rs73 replied to _L8RSXY_'s topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
rules of mods, you will never get it (your money) back. bought my r33 for $23k, spent close to $15k modifying it from 250hp to about 360hp very fast street sleeper. sold it for $10k with all the mods! you should have taken the $75k - better than nothing. you'd be very lucky if anyone offer you more than 1/3rd of what you spend (130k) = more than 40k as modified cars are not everyone's taste plus only the real petrolhead enthusiast would dare to take a risk buying a modded one. if you can be bothered taking off your mods, i suggest do so, sell the car as close to stock as possible then sell the mod parts separately. you might end up come on top, if not, then at least you get some cash flow moving, rather than a stagnant sitting in your garage. -
Question For Skyline V35 Track Owners
rs73 replied to rs73's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thank's... does the wheel clear your huge front brembos? dun worry too much if you can't be bothered to test it :-) I've jacked up my car when swapping the rims, they're reasonably quite a heavy car to jack up at the front (rear was easier). but still not as heavy as a Camry. Back in 1992 my old 2WD Suzuki Jimny was the lightest "tin can" car I've ever jacked up when I did tyre rotation :-)
