  1. Thank's for the size, Jon.... Is yours the same 155/80/17 as well, superspit? I think I might try to source the 17" spare & tyre from Nissan, they might cost me a lot, but if they do fit over the brembos then it will be very useful in unexpected times of tyre puncture. although over 5 yrs owning R33 I only had 1 tyre puncture and it didn't get to flat yet as I quickly pump it up in a nearby petrol station and had the holes fixed immediately.
  2. I'm mainly interested to find what size V35 owners with brembo have on their spare... not if it will fit the rears or not. FYI ALL V35 track (coupe with brembo) have staggered fitment from factory. 225/45 front and 245/45 rear on factory 18s or 225/50 front and 245/50 rear on 17s (non-brembo versions). Staggered and directional tyres means tyre rotation never exist in V35 coupe owners' dictionary. Only the V35 sedan have same fitment front to back, but sedan never had brembos option on them. Now, who else can answer my question regarding what spare tyre size and rims you have on your V35 TRACK?
  3. Got a question for you Skyline V35 Track Owners... Does your space saver temporary use spare fits over the front brembos? Have you tried? What is the size of your temporary use tyres? I searched the net and I only found spec for 350Z Track, with spare size 145/80D17 tyre on a 17x4T temporary steel spare wheel. Infiniti USA told me the spare should be 18" - not 17" as what's on the 350Z spec? I suspect the one they told me 18" is for the late model G35 with factory 19". See http://www.campusinfiniti.com/infiniti_g_coupe.html Cos the one I have in my boot is 145/90D16 and the 16" steel wheel doesn't clear the front brembo (haven't tried on the back yet, but if it doesn't clear the front why bother?) So is your brembo V35's spare is 145/80D17 or 145/70D18 ??
  4. ah ha ha ha, maybe I was keying the order sheet while watching Bart Simpson and Millhouse on TV
  5. upon starting airbag check light as well as engine check light and/or oil check light should all be on. if they stay on after engine is running, you have a problem.
  6. oh my but they are pairs of 7926S fronts & 908S rears as per your order, right?
  7. how many kms is that? just to give a rough idea how long they will last... my stock V35 OEM front rotors were less than minimum legal - that was I assumed 49000km never replaced from japan, on a stock pads. didn't pass RWC, I needed to get a new set. The rear was lipped but legal (machineable). I'll check on NA R33 rotors - forgotten about it.
  8. oh, and forgot to mention, RDA is already processing Group Buy 42 for shipment.
  9. I am trying on the passivated rotors. If it's right then it's softer than the slotted but so far I haven't had any issues yet. But again, V35 Skyline is 1590 kg and in a coupe the weight distribution is 53/47 front to back (in sedan it's 52/48). It has 296mm front and 292mm rear in touring trim (non brembo) or 324mm front and 322mm rear in track / brembo form. I have the later (brembo) size A guy in his 300ZX said his car has 80/20 brake bias front to rear, unsure of static weight distribution on 300ZX though, anyone know what are the brake usage on 300ZX? Worn his gold passivated rotors fairly quick as well. The Z32 turbo has 280mm front and 297mm rear, same sizes like R32 Gtst, but I'm sure the Z32 with VG30DETT engine weighs a lot more at the front than a single turbo R32 with RB20DET. R32 Gts-t weighs 1260kg manual or 1280kg auto according to my JDM brochure, 300ZX is 1460kg in hatchback or 1560kg in convertible ( targa roof ? ) form, so it is a much heavier car with an undersized OEM brakes - in my opinion Added: as a comparison a 1340kg (man) / 1390kg (auto) R33 Gtst which is still lighter than 300ZX is already equipped with 296mm / 297mm rotors by standard. bigger diameter would logically mean less effort required to stop the car on daily use, and logically would mean the rotor should last longer.
  10. Interested to know what car have you got when this happened. I had someone said their 300ZX front rotors (gold passivated) also wears out very quick. Oh and was yours slotted or the gold passivated grooved/dimpled? I personally have used it on the front of R33 Gtst without any premature use (even tracked it - with greenstuff which is not really for track pads), and currently on a V35 with redstuff pads - but I have only done 5000km in my V35 so hard to say... So perhaps the gold passivated one is 'softer' than slotted...
  11. is that a model of Ford Mustang, not Skyline on top of the number plate?
  12. any links from USA you need to factor in cost of shipping, it will cost probably in the vicinity of US$ 600-800 on top of the wheel/rims depending if they include tyres or not (with tyres, heavier, more expensive shipping)...
  13. Nice VW Passat, Chris.... err... sorry I mean Lexus :-) LOL (read your post in my other thread)
  14. so we all got worth what we paid for it, yeah ? great luxurious euro style with not so much pain to the hip pocket :-)
  15. hm... what to do... drive around town pointless ....... ? and get defected ?
  16. you're welcome... just curious, why after the Lexus you go back to Nissan? usually people will keep or go upmarket to BMW or Audi
  17. I'll check...
  18. Ok the guy is on long annual leave and his assistant rang me and gonna start processing the order today...
  19. the HKS kansai swaybar parts are the same for both cars. so reckon would be. although the nismo swaybar differs by the ending part number, one is 004 the other is 005. not sure what's different perhaps the V35 is a little bit softer as nismo is usually not that extreme when it comes to mods, gotta cater those V35 owners who want to keep their car more civilised than the racing version 350Z
  20. Fuel efficiency is never Nissan's strength, that's why fuel-conscious people end up buying Hondas. My bro moved from Honda Civic which uses around 6-7l/100km to Accord Euro and he complaint it's using too much petrol at around 9l/100km Go figure. Too much or too little is subjective. danny I hope you've actually tested a few V35 e.g. dealer test drive before actually buying one... if you can find one at a good price why not, especially in these times where A$ just only hovering around 50 to the Yen, it will be quite expensive exercise to import one from Japan... If you wanna use the dvd/satnav you need to piggy back an aftermarket system on to the factory one. can't do anything on the factory one it will always be there sitting 'useless'. ask Chris Rogers but he's in Brisbane, maybe he knows someone good in Melb or maybe he want to organise another trip down here... if you're willing to bear the airline cost. Same story with TV tuner. Jap TV won't work here. Piggy back it with aftermarket unit. You get lotsa remote in the car :-) might as well get a remote tray/organiser they sell in furniture stores and double side taped them to the dash. I filled up petrol yesterday, 65ltr, maybe about 5km away from home. Travelled around 45km today to work and back. So I've used about 50km. my trip computer says I've got another 490km left to go so potentially it is 540km per tank of 65ltr plus a few more (maybe 5-10ltr) in my tank before I fill up - I may have 70 or 75ltr tank capacity. but by experience I could probably get 20-30km extra than what the trip computer says. That would make my average fuel consumption for daily work commuting around 560km-ish with around 65-70ltr so it works out about 11.5 to 12.5ltr /100km tiptronic is effortless in city traffic. keep it in normal mode and it shifts up nicely (unless you got one with dodgy transmission), turn the power mode on and it will hold the gear longer and shift up a bit responsively. not bad for a quick spin. never driven the manual version but I reckon the shift action will be similar to 350Z as they should be using the same gearbox. got a friend with manual 350Z ?
  21. I believe they are identical. Take a look at this: http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php...er=&volkey=
  22. But does the RX350 made 200+ kw from its V6 3.5L ?
  23. I've left a message on their voicemail asking my contact to call me back. If they process and ship everything by Mon-Tue next week then there's a chance you'll get it before 13th, if not then it will not make it.
  24. Welcome to the world of Skyline... IMHO, in terms of build quality, the V35 is good but it's not quite up there yet, I'm sure the Lexus has a much better build quality and luxury feel. After my R33, I wanted a luxury cruiser, in which the IS250 fits the bill, but I can't afford nor willing to pay the $60k asking price for a 2nd hand Sports Luxury trim with big wheels sunroof navi etc. So I went back to the world of importing and get a V35. I'm not sure which lexus you have but any IS previous or current have smaller capacity and lower power output than the V35 (except IS-F but that's totally a whole new different game) so it is reasonable for V35 fuel consumption to be 'too much' coming off from Lexus world. Honda and Toyota are among those japanese car makers that have the best fuel consumptions in the market... and toyota build lexus...
  25. Your money is safe with me. I never hand it over to them until they charge my account. I need to play it safe for everyone's sake. What I'm worried of is something has happened since the whole economy went into resession. I rang and didn't get through yesterday, only a voice mail, will try again some time today.
