  1. a search on eBay found a few antistatic strip that is fitted on the bumper and hanging down to touch the ground. Looks kinda silly. also found a few antistatic shark fin antenna or short type aerial that can be mounted on the roof or at the gap of the boot lid. anyone tried any of those devices? do they help or just a gimmick? The hanging antistatic strip touching the grounds sound logical but I can't see how antistatic antenna can work? discharging the static onto thin air? I thought static needs to be 'grounded'
  2. It's called R33GTS4, no 't', as R33GTS4 is non-turbo car, same like R33GTS except with AWD drivetrain. Only the R32GTS4 has turbo.
  3. 4. Profit ????
  4. Has anyone else experiencing static electricity shock when getting off their car? I get it almost always especially after driving to work in the morning. even when touching the glass (instead of door metal) when getting off the car... What's the best way to reduce/eliminate this?
  5. Agree. I have similar spec, 8.5 wide front +25 and 9.5 rear +30. Front: Rear: They look good IMHO almost flush with the guard. I'd think with +22 all around and the those width you said, they'll be right on the edge of front guard, but may look sticking out a tiny bit at the back or just flush with the guard. Keep the rear tyres around 265 or 275 width which are good fit for 9.5" anyhow, and you may get away without rolling guards. But if they look like sticking out the rear guard too your preference, you can have the rear guard pumped a bit, especially if yours is lowered.
  6. if you don't have brembo they may still clear your caliper, but... being your front (if coupe) has originally 8 or 8.5 width stock rims and +30 stock offset, using +40 offset will decrease your front track width and may upset the balance/stability. if you have V35 sedan they may be ok as the rim width is wider than stock. For stability you would always want to increase the track width, not decrease it... or get a slightly wider tyre as the rear 9.5" may also make up for it, but I've seen cars with rims that sits deep in the wheel well and they look kinda funny IMHO. Again from stock +30 to +40 is only 1cm inwards but... you never know with cars, if 5 x 12mm bolts can withstand 700kg on each wheel corner, that makes you think that if you play around with 1 or 2cm difference how much stability can be affected? I'd say no. Stick with +30 or less.
  7. It's nothing to do with turbo or non turbo. It's having to do with power to weight ratio. You can't have NA V35 or 350Z either. Having 206kw at flywheels and around 1500kg is = 137kw/tonne which is way OVER the 125kw/tonne limit. On the other hand if you have a Mini Cooper turbo (Cooper-S) which has 120kw - YES you can drive it on your P-Plates. Unless there is another 'disclaimer' umbrella clause that rules out any form of forced induction or any engine with more than 6 cylinders... I don't know...

    Nortel = Bust

    Nortel Networks. www.nortel.com she's had this for long time, she used to work for Hutchison telecom, working on the 3g network, then they ditch it and not really into it, although apparently they do launch the brand "3" on 3G network, so I wasn't clear what's the deal with hutchison giving up or letting go on some big projects... so then after hutchison she works for this Nortel, and now things are looking gloomy too... poor her...

    Nortel = Bust

    It's not that I'm thinking that way... I was just relaying to you all what my bro told me as his wife (my sis in law) is still working in Nortel St Kilda Rd at this very moment. Beside what Nortel do or don't doesn't really concern me... my sis in law ACTUALLY was hoping to get severance... everyone in Nortel IS hanging around waiting for the company to sack them first rather than looking. A rather risky move if the company went under then there is no fund to pay off the severance package... so it's a gamble for them...
