  1. +7 offset ??? good luck. If yours is lowered, be prepared to at least roll the guards or add a FRP guard extension. Most GTR wheels' offsets are around +15, where do you find these rims? Sounds like one of those VIP chrome wheels off a japanese VIP-styled sedans? Normally in Options magazine Japan, for 350Z or V35 around +20-25 offset is considered quite 'aggressive' already to the standard's offset which is around +35-38. +7 means your outer edge of the rims will stick out around 3cm outside IF your aftermarket rims is also 8" in width like the OEM rims. However you have 8.5" and 9.5" that means it will stick out more around 4cm front and around 6cm rear. Grab a ruler and stick it onto your std rims, and you can imagine how much those rims will stick out. You can install a narrow tyres to get away with it, stretching the sidewalls so it really looks like those VIP cars in Japan, with a mad negative camber. Although I doubt it will be legal here to run your car with such camber and rim/tyre combination. Alternatively you can remove your front guard panels and cut the rear qtr panels, transform the V35 to a go-kart/F1 style, or a Caversham open wheeler club racer Don't forget to chop off the roof and install a roll cage.
  2. you can probably find other videos on the internet, TT mod on VQ35 is getting common in Japan and USA
  3. hm, yeah - that means they're probably suppose to cost less then... ? cos mine had alot of scrapes on it, just tempted to had them restore but at $350 a piece quote to restore it back to Nissan's original high silver/shadow chrome finish is a bit expensiver for a stock set of rims. so i was thinking just to sell mine cheap with compliance tyres on 'em (done 2000km)
  4. I told the Mrs the HKS2535 turbo install & tune was a scheduled major service in my R33 gtst. But again when she was charged $650+ on a major 80000km service on her Corolla in Toyota dealership, the install & tune labour cost on mine from a local tuner sounds 'reasonable'. I don't think you' get away with $16k APS tt kit though
  5. i'm desperately waiting for my 19s as well... once that's on the car, i may be considering selling mine. but unsure yet. I think that ebay listing started at $800 or 900 and the guy sold it for $1800. so you might give it a go. depending your luck and how many buyers wanted those rims in your city, you may just end up selling them cheap or even got a good price for them. at least your garage will be less cluttered by parts you're not puting on the car anyhow...
  6. I saw a listing on ebay a while ago and yes, at the back of the rims there was stamped 'RAYS' somewhere. Doesn't look like a DIY stamp so it looks legit enough. I'm pretty sure from memory they're the 18" ones, the 17"s on sedans I don't think they're RAYS though
  7. did you buy them reasonably cheap? another thing buying or hunting for these rims is it's easier to buy one in your own city, so that kinda reduce your opportunity of finding a good rims but if it's located in other city, it's almost pointless to buy unless you're very desperate for it for any reason, cos' it'll be an expensive exercise trying to ship them down as most couriers requires them packed in a box, some don't accept a normal plastic shrinkwrap as a proper packaging. Not to mention the cost.
  8. Very subjective 2nd hand pricing as there's no guide but official RRP from a US Nissan/Infiniti is about US$700+ per rim WITHOUT tyres. Not very helpful with the current crappy exchange rate, but that would mean brand new from dealers you'll be looking A$4k for the full set, that is if the A$ pricing is not set to be any higher than the US$ equivalent rate in the USA. Locally, I've seen people are asking as much as A$3k for a set with tyres and yet some lucky punters can get a set for less than A$1k. So, the answer to your question is, NO, there are no price guide. If you like it, you pay it as much as you can or are willing to part for that amount of cash, as these things don't come around often. But again, although they are made by RAYS, they're not the lightest wheel RAYS ever made, they're OEM stuff, so basically RAYS made them 'as cheap as possible' for nissan within acceptable quality and safety standard. An aftermarket RAYS forged wheels would very likely be stronger and lighter than these.
  9. was looking for confirmation after greddy/trust is told goin bankrupt as well following apexi, and as i hadn't been tinkering with any turbos since I sold my trusty old R33 gtst long time ago, I couldn't believe the rumours. should have checked the dates though.
  10. It is... but I am well over my time.... by about 1 generation. Perhaps cos I listen to my dad's 1950-60s pop collection as a kid... So don't blame me for this.
  11. Well the 'little' china, Taiwan, had been a well known manufacturers of computer and motherboard PCB products, it's like the silicon valley of the asia. but again, the old comrades China, even though crappy products also come out from there, again most products you have in your home, be it plasma tv, cameras, dvd players, clothings, shoes, fridge, fans, airconds, your mobile phones, etc. are now mostly made in China. It is not where it is made that makes something a bad product, it is bad quality control that makes something a bad product. You can bash chinese products as crappy products as you like now, but if you remember it, japanese products were bashed just as badly after they lost the WW II, no one wold want to buy made in Japan as they're basically knock-off copies of American products. But look at what Japanese products has become and evolved to such high quality products over few decades after the grimmy WW II era. In the 80s-90s, all the best are made in Japan. Before China starts to take over, mainly due to cheaper production and labour cost. India could be next, and who knows when Indian made products become non-economical 40 years from now due to rising cost, Africa might be the next place to invest, and Africa in the future might just as well be just like China today... the economic wheel will keep turning. No region will stay on top of the wheels all the time.
  12. Most likely front R32 Gtst rotors. Measure it then I'll know. Rears are the same. If your front rotors is 280mm (28cm) diameter across then it's the R32 gtst rotors, rear should be 297mm across (close to 30cm). If front is also 296mm (about 30cm) across then you've got the front R32 gtr rotors.

  17. In addition, I talked to Chris and compass doesn't work in Australia. It's configured for the northern hemisphere, so although it will turn around as you drive around corners, the direction the compass shows on the screen will be the wrong direction...... do not trust it if you're lost you'll never find your way back. use the melway.

  22. Looks like just the normal Legalis to me. The Ti is made of Titanium, which will turn blue at the tips after being used, as Titanium turns blue when heated up. On the street no performance gain, the Ti is usually more useful on the track where race teams always find ways to make the car lighter by x kilogram to find that extra 0.ss second laptime.
  23. Yeah it sucks... it was like 52 yen with the rate last week, so I'm finding out from my importer what rate they quoted me on, hopefully it wasn't too high like 80+, as that will mean I'm gonna have to wait for some time before seeing the other 2 rims... This week it's gone up to 62-63 yen again, so hopefully it will be a bit better soon...

  25. lucky you, with the crappy interest rate right now it'll cost almost $700 excluding delivery... i paid a freaking $900 EMS delivery for a set of 4 rims delivery from japan due to the poor exchange rate, and now only 2 got delivered, the other 2 still sitting up there cos the 'importer' are waiting for the A$ to come back up... heck, I'll be darn if I have to wait a year for the other 2! not happy Jan!
