Anyone Seen These Wheels Before ?
rs73 replied to manda23's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
That's freakin' cheap. Mine was $3k plus tyres. MAKE SURE you ask what is included with the $2.5g! You don't wanna be slapped with extra charge of this and that especially with your aftermarket parts, they'll probably gonna charge you labour cost to remove them, fit std parts on for compliance, then refit your parts back on after compliance, that could sting a bit. -

If it's already on the car from Japan it might be easier because the Japanese owner would have had done the immobiliser bit at a Japanese Nissan Dealer. If you're trying to fit one on a car that's already here you won't be so lucky as I don't think the local Nissan dealer would care about an import. -

No idea. but I heard they're like a fixed tune ECU so you won't be able to do anything much with it, and I doubt you'll find anyone locally who knows how to tune it, and not sure what local fuel will do to the ECU mapping which was mapped (perhaps aggresively) based on Japanese 100-octane fuel. I was considering getting one from japanparts.com, but after a rather sketchy email conversation with a Japanese salesperson in broken English about having to bring the car to Nissan dealer for some kind of immobiliser registration, it sounds like a very complicated thing just to get the ECu to fire up the engine, let alone to have it tuned locally, so I decided not to touch any such ECU from Japan. -

Rare can be good (exclusivity for your pride n joy) but can be real bad if it ever got damaged. Just don't hit a pothole and bent one of them... you'll probably have a very hard time finding replacement, and may cost a lot of money especially replacing one usually means buying brand new from the manufacturer/authorised dealer. If that ever happens you might as well get it repaired locally if it's repairable but it's not gonna be cheap, it can be more expensive than buying another used set from Japan, depending on the amount of damage done. I've just imported a set of 19" from Japan n the shipping cost alone (on top of rim price) is $900+ via EMS, coming in 4 separate boxes. Just to give you a ball park figure what's it's gonna cost if you ever have to replace one or two of those rims. Nice combo of aftermarket parts, but be prepare to find std parts, might cost you a bit more to comply with all those aftermarket parts as they're not suppose to be compliable with those parts on... unless you can find a rather 'dodgy' workshop. -
350gt Power Problems.. Maybe
rs73 replied to Touge Kyousou's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
despite the low reading but if you can still get 5.86s 0-100 then I'd say the dyno may be configured to read low. Perhaps wrong setting from previous dyno run? that can throw the figure out of whack as well. many other factor can make dyno reading varies from one dyno to another -

In theory it is possible with some control box that initiate the master clutch cylinder when the shifter paddle or button is pressed. There are some products that changes the conventional H shiftgear pattern to an up and down sequential pattern for drag racing applications. With some air pump connected to the clutch system the whole thing can be coordinated to convert the manual box into some kind of a semi auto or DSG style box, without swapping the manual gearbox with a traditional torque converter auto box. WIth R35 GTR I think Nissan is ambitious to beat Porsche time and decided that a DSG is the best way to go to: - get the quickest gearshift change as quick as possible regardless of driver's skill (even F1 driver uses paddle shift) - electronically coordinated gear change protect the gearbox from enormous Horse Power shock in the hands of not so experienced general drivers.

Just spoke to my contact @ RDA, he'll be back at work in a couple of days. There's a little bit short on shipment of stock so at this stage looks like Group Buy 37 will be shipped out around the end of this week. Sorry for any delays caused.

How's your schedule now Chris? Still looking forward to you coming down here... Cheers, Rianto

do you mean the splash guard that sits behind the rear disc rotors? are you thinking to swap your rear rotors for larger brembo size?

Just found out this morning that after 5 days in the server queue my email for the order didn't get through again, just like last month. Tried sending via hotmail, TPG, and uecomm (work ISP) and nothing goes through. Apparently I have to do it by fax. Will fax it tonight, my contact should be back from his holiday tomorrow and should be able to process it. Update 8:15pm - Finally resorted to fax method, group buy 37 has now been faxed to RDA. I should normally hear back from them tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. Next Group Buy 38 orders: - Chad_ (payment clears) - 700HP-GTR33 (waiting for payment)

No problems, if you still have the quote pm, just send the payment and I'll put you in the next one closing 5th October.. Also there's slight delay with Group Buy 37 orders below: - Samstain (payment cleared) - GTS-T Sedan (payment cleared) - 33drifter (payment cleared) - SirSkyline (payment cleared) - phunky_monkey (payment cleared) - pw350gt (payment cleared) At this moment my contact @ RDA is away for 2 days, but he'll be back and sort it out as soon as he's back in office. Will advise ASAP when they send group buy 37 orders out of their warehouse.

You'll need to check that the distance between the R33 caliper bolts are the same with V35's, but if you're not doing the install yourself then a brake shop can always fabricate something for you to mount the r33 calipers. Attached is a size reference chart, the R33 gts-t hat height is higher than the V35 so depending whether you're gonna be keeping your V35 rotor on the front, you also need to check the clearance between the caliper and the rims, especially if you have the std 17" rims. the optional V35 18" or 19" rims should be fine with these. Also I've finally put the brembos and grooved dimpled on the V35 with some redstuff, they're done by RaceBrakes, hardly any noise on medium/hard brake application but still squeals a bit on light application. But again, I had them 2 weeks ago, and so far I've only driven the car once a week and less than 100km since fitted. But the bite is absolutely a class different compare to the stock V35 calipers. I still believe upgrading to brembo is the best way - there's a few cheap 350z brembo caliper set going on ebay at the moment, mostly in USA (check the sellers if they're willing to ship it down here), but again, R33 gtst calipers are definitely cheaper, and even if they're not brembos, they are considered very good calipers already compared to what's fitted to most other cars from that era. Just to quickly add - make sure you check the R33 calipers you're purchasing are not leaking, and they come complete with the pins and metal clips that hold the pads, as well as the steel brake pipes section coming out of the calipers. If they're only missing the rubber hose section - these are easy to replace, but having those steel section & small parts for the pads will make your life easier when swapping.

If you are referring to R35 GTR then YES, they are all DSG box which looks like 'AUTO', although indeed they are manual gearbox with electronic clutch and paddle shift on steering column.
