  2. Problem with that is if you want to get the rear in dimpled, the rear will come in factory gold anodised finish. So your car will be quite colourful front to rear - if you have no problem with that.
  3. If you want the R34 GTT rotors in dimpled patern it will be in normal stainless finish, just like the standard slotted one. The reason is there's nothing out from factory with 310mm size, so what was done is RDA will machine the 324mm rotors from GTR down to 310mm, balance it, and put either slotted or dimpled pattern as you wish. However it will not have the gold anodised finish.
  4. pics of your other anniversary set?
  5. Remember KW/HP sells car. Torque moves car. Even though 300GT may have just a little bit kw less than 350GT, what's the torque figure based on std spec? Less torque can make the car felt like a lot powerless, even though the kw rating is only slighly bit less. Not everytime you will be using the top end kw on high rpm...! Also regarding CVT, do a search on 350GT on eBay, there's one asking for $16k starting bid, a blue 350GT8 sedan with broken CVT8 transmission. Now don't tell me the issue only happens to Micra's CVT.. there's a living proof out there.
  6. russky, u talkin about Rav4 diesel? I saw from time to time the previous model some had bonnet scoop that looked like a very cool turbocharged 4WD, and as I believe those are the turbo diesels one, am I right? We have the latest model and there's no diesel range offered, only 4cyl and later the 6cyl 200kw engine
  7. RDA Group Buy 34: - Nick033 (payment cleared)
  8. That's the beauty of diesel's torque... they put diesel engines in trucks beside its economy also the enormous torque that it can generate at low speed. I was in a truck once and boy they feel like pulling real hard, but after a few seconds I looked at the speedo it was only 30-40km/h
  9. The 350GT8 with 8-speed CVT would be nice and probably more fuel efficient... get one with complete japanese service history as if the CVT breaks down no one here in Australia knows how to fix them yet. closest bet is send the trans to NZ with a repair bill of around $15k which is like 75% of the car purchase price. 5sp tiptronic is safer as local Nissan can fix them if anything went wrong.
  10. I found most drivers of low powered cars ie Smart, Echo, 121, Excel, etc. they're used to floor their accell to the floor every start of traffic light as they'll always need to squeeze as much as possible out of their tiny engines to get ahead most of the time... regardless gal or guy drivers... They may have no intention of dragging anyone but just the style of their driving that seems to be, which evolved from trying to make up for the lack of power in their car... But when you had some moron in some mid to hi end powered cars like integra, wrx, v6/v8 falcon or commodore doing that, then they're draggin you on purpose... not worth wasting time on these sort of morons really... just take down their plate #, call crime stoppers and just leave it the cops decision whether to nail them and impound their car for hooning...
  11. Just Car, hi risk Melb Suburb (near st albans), garaged, 35yo rating 1 with very high agreed value $38k which should well cover all the nav & alarm stuffs / mods i'm putting into the car. 03' v35 coupe auto. Single driver only, no blemish driving history - $997/yr with $500 excess or $960 / yr with $1000 excess and rating 1 protection.
  12. Spotted a silver V35 coupe parked on Toorak Road South Yarra yesterday (23 July) around 11:30am Was on the way to Vicroads from SSVI during my 13 weeks registration ordeal... that hasn't come to an end yet...
  13. I found the sneaky seat is caused by my wide shoulder rubbing the leather side support... hm.. cut my shoulder away or cut the side support?
  14. Don't think so. This is infiniti but the car is very similar http://www.infinitihelp.com/Infiniti/Model...cifications.htm Looks like HICAS dies with R34 production...
  15. Waz is close but not quite right. I found an info on the net, lost the URL but here's the history behind why storing battery on concrete will kill it. All batteries discharge slowly by nature - even on the shop shelf. However the biggest killer is if the battery run dry, or the electrostatic contained within somehow gets discharged (by leaving a light on etc). In the early years (long before most of you and I were born), batttery casing was made by metal box encased in an outer wood layer. These type of early car batteries need to be stored on a piece of wooden joust if not being used. The reason is to prevent any moisture from the floor to touch the outer wooden casing directly, causing the wooden casing to warp and crack, exposing the metal casing underneath that may lead to rust on the metal case and leakage of the liquid inside - thus discharging the battery. Then came along some improvement where the outer layer was made by rubbery like material or the early days of plastic. These doesn't have any issues with moisture, however as they are somehow porous or the case's material density are not dense enough, electrostatic charges often escape down to the earth when batteries are placed on concrete. The recent generation of batteries should have a polycarbonate casing which is stronger and won't let the electrons to escape even when put on concrete. However some batteries that still gets discharged on concrete may not have the top quality casing, or the cold temp of the concrete during winter months actually makes the battery lost power. Just like camera's battery that lost power when used in cold weather area (need to rub on hands to warm up then it'll work again for a while). Something like that...
  16. You're welcome, yeah TNT won't call even when you put the phone on the delivery docket. And I've missed my delivery a few times that way too. At least they'll leave a calling card.
  17. Spoken to Peter from SSVI about it, and Mark, one of the staff there did it, 15 min job. the lady @ Vicroads happy with it, checked with Vicroads sunshine manager, who had a look at the VIN stamped on the RHS Strut, and he's happy with it too... But alas everyone is @ lunch so no one can operate the computer to process the rego.. had to come back next week... man... I hope it'll be 4th time lucky next week!
  18. Ah, no idea then - I don't have a time machine... but I won't be surprised if 350GT is more expensive brand new back in 2003 compare to 350Z
  19. Week 13 - got the VIN stamped by an authorised compliancer in Melbourne - went back to VicRoads, the staff and the manager had a look at it they're happy HOWEVER (I'm getting used to this word) ppl gone for lunch - they're understaffed, asked me to come back next week to do the rego payment and finish it off Off to week 14 - with a glimpse of hope that it'll be over soon!
  20. Being a grey import a V35 will always be valued a lot less in the eye of the buyers. and that drives the prices down, plus the initial new prices of 350Z are set by official Nissan dealers with their dealer delivery charges etc, and that translate to the average used car prices by working of the average depreciation over time. A V35 350Gt probably gonna cost more or less the same with the same year local 350Z with almost double the km. That means a local 350Z with the same year and same km with the 350GT will be more expensive.
  21. You're welcome. I'm not doing brake hoses at the moment. I think Al started that a few years ago with MalTech in Geelong with quite good prices for R32/R33/R34 range, I'm not sure if he's still doing that. Just do a search on the group buy section for braided hose and/or Maltech.
  22. Next Group Buy #34 is open until 3rd August... Delivery estimated between 5th-12th August
  23. If there are still enough interest here from R34 GTT owners to get slotted rotors, I'm sure I can get RDA to keep making them out of R34 GTR front...
  24. What's with storing the battery on concrete killing it? The charge went 'earthed' into the concrete then battery went flat? Is it?
