  1. Try "State Roads" they have offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast and will do on site inspections of vehicles 7 days a week. They specialise in imports, and are very thorough, and it's only about $130 if I remember correctly. Their website is www.stateroads.com.au Hope this helps.
  2. Just from my own experience of fitting towbars for a few years, all of the above mentioned vehicles would be fine for towing. Although, Ford has always been rated as a better tow vehicle to holden... much better pulling strentgh. As mentioned, a diesel 4 wheel drive would be an excellent tow vehicle, but may not be in your price range. AU gearboxes were known to have heat issues with heavy duty towing - this would be the likes of large live-in caravans and large horse floats. Many towbar fitters would fit transmission coolers when fitting towbars to these vehicles, and this would resolve this issue very easily and cheaply. Therefore, towing a car and car trailer behind an AU falcon would not be a problem, with a transmission cooler fitted as a precaution. This is just an opinion.
  3. Just wondering if I could get - 6T91MPV97P20E4003 - checked out, thanks.
  4. send pics to [email protected] interested in this for myself. Thanks mate.
  5. Interested.... got any pics?
  6. I'm interested too, still available? As above, not a fan of the orange interior... changeable?
  7. Just from my own experience, of fitting towbars for 3years, your GTR would be unable to tow another vehicle on a trailer. Torque and power do come into it, but only in a minor way. The structural strength of the rear of the car plays the biggest part in this decision. In towing, there are 2 weights to take into consideration... Ball weight and towing weight. Towing weight, everyone would be familiar with, it's the actual weight of the entire load being towed... in this cae, a car, and a car trailer - don't forget the weight of the trailer. Ball weight on the other hand is often over looked... it is the weight directly down on the tow ball. This figure can actually restrict some vehicles from even carrying a loaded bike rack. Skylines, R32 and onwards, were not designed for towing... which is obviously why brands such as Hayman Reece don't make kits to suit, if you were to get one fitted, it would be custom made. Despite being all wheel drive, having good low down torque, great handling, and everything else that everyone has said... the rear end of the car and chassis was not designed to have an extra couple of tonne being pulled along behind it, or another couple of hundred kilos straight down on the rear. Nissan Patrols and Land Cruisers can tow around 3500kgs with the heavy duty towbar kits... you could buy one of these and tow a GTR and your Datto!
  8. It is carbon fibre with fibreglass reinforcing.
  9. As the topic suggests, I have a brand new carbon fibre bonnet to suit a 180SX. I realise this item may sell better on NS.com, but as I don't have 100 posts on there, I can't advertise. The bonnet is brand new, hasn't been fitted to a car and retails for over $1500. Looking at offers at the moment, but hoping for about $1000 It is located in Melbourne. Cheers, Ollie
  10. That last photo is awesome! Well done mate.
  11. Thanks for the info Rekin, already had the car inspected by State Roads... $164 well spent. Saved myself a lot of trouble and problems.
  12. Where is the car located? How much are you looking for? Pics?

    Roadworthy?

Thanks for all the advice guys. On advice from a member, I had the car checked by State Roads today, who did a very thorough job for $164. They found the Engine, Gearbox and Diff were in great condition and very smooth. But the car had been in 2 accidents in japan with dodgy repairs... so saved myself a lot of money! Thanks again
  14. Thanks for that will call them now. Always amazes me how quickly I can get helpful information from this site.
  15. Does anybody know a place to get an inspection in or around Campbellfield? RACV will only inspect it at their inspection bay in North Melbourne because it's an import. As the guy lives and works in Campbellfield, he is unable to get it there for a full day. He is available all weekend, or today if possible. Thanks in advance.

    Roadworthy?

Thanks Ash, I'm gonna make sure it's part of the purchase price, I don't want the hassle. He's under pressure, so I'm sure it'll work out my way. Thanks for the advice though. Ollie

    Roadworthy?

Thanks for the reply mate. I really want it to be included in the price, he's under a bit of pressure, so hopefully it can go my way. Then I might really feel like a part of this community.... as a full blooded Skyline owner! Thanks again. Ollie

    Roadworthy?

Sorry if this is a really basic and newb question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway. I'm possibly days away from buying an R33 GTS-T, just in the negotiating stage, anyway, the guy I'm buying it from doesn't want to include the price of the roadworthy in the sale. I would rather that it was included, so that I don't get hit with an unknown/unforseen high cost after the purchase of the car. If I end up having to pay for the roadworthy, I was just wondering what gets checked in a roadworthy? So I can semi-calculate what could be invloved. Thanks in advance, Ollie
  21. Pics please? [email protected] Thanks.
