  1. im currently looking at purchasing a R33 GTS-T and was wondering what sort of advice you have in regards to servicing, parts costs, reliability issues or anything i should look out for when purchasing one.
  2. well you learn something new everyday. thanx for the help guys i think ill just stick with the BOV and shift low when cops are around or just say na stuff it and hammer it anyway.
  3. hust wondering.. what is a safe boost to have through a turbo without the aid of a BOV. i dont mind the whole woosh sound they give off its just that p platers and BOV's and cops dont really match very well.. i would have thought about 10-12 psi would be ok as skylines are cop bait enough as it is!! anything like links or just general info or estimations is good
  4. thanx for that!! even if its not quite right it gives me somewhere to look at in regards to findin a replacement for it. thanx for that info
  5. Ok so before u go sayin shit.. ive looked around the search here and i cant really find what im after.. as the topic title says, i wanna know what model the standard turbo is on an R33 GTS-T. im lookin at purchasin one in the near future but currently am pricing things out and the turbo would b the first to go.. id want one with the same specs as the standard if i could just for peace of mind as i tend to like to "punch" the accelerater in my current ride.. ive looked everywhere on the web for the specs of the turbo but all ive found is that they are a ceramic turbo that can crack under high temps and hard drivin.. anything in regards to this is helpful cos i have always had a soft spot for the skyline and now it seems im able to do it
  6. thanx for the help guys. sounds to me like its better to get one thats already here than import it even though its cheaper to do so.. also sounds like they have the same sorts of problems as most cars do in regards to oil leaks and coolant. im an apprentice mechanic so labour and stuff that needs fixin i can do so labour is cheap from what ive seen a nice series 2 will set me back bout 16-19g's but thats not too bad considering im not gonna rush into it.. i want this one for keeps and for some serious mods down the track!! thanx again for ur help
  7. thanx for that. yeah the insurance side is nothing new to me as i own an elxr6 which costs me bout nearly 2 g's anyway... ill make sure the thing has an engine too i spose lol. repairs i can hopefully do myself as im an apprentice mechanic but they can b pricey with any car really... also, whats about average k's for them?? ive seen alot around the 100-130,000 km mark..
  8. hi, im looking at purchasing an R33 GTS-T and was just wondering what to look for when buying one. eg problems, mods etc. i dont want one that has too many mods cos i still have a year on my p's .. I guess im just wanting to know people's experiences with owning these cars with repairs, running costs, fuel just anything thats good or bad with the car. also is it better to import one or buy one private/with a dealer thanx
  9. the only reason i would undertake this is because im not a big fan of the 4cyl and i love the 6 cyl in the skylines. would it b worthwhile doing this or just spend the money on doing up the engine thats in the silvia??
  10. yeah i would eventually get it registered so engineering certs etc would have to come into it. so its just a straight through swap over, all mounts line up with no issues in height??
  11. just wondering, is it possible to put the R33 engine into something like a S13 onwards silvia?? i was thinking of doing one up as a project car is all
