  1. pull the coilpacks out. when i did my engine bay. i covered all the electrical components. still managed to get water into my coilpacks. on some cylinders the water completed covered the spark plugs. didnt take long to clear out and is also good as you can check that the coilpacks and plugs are in decent condition.
  2. mine had similar issues. there was nothing wrong with the alternator etc. but when i changed battery the problem immediately went away. just wasnt holding any charge and would die after listening to 5 minutes of music. my new one is exactly the same battery. has lasted me 6 months so far.
  3. pretty simple. apply a waterproof grease to the two hinges and the metal rod between the two. i did this just last night. eliminates all squeeling.
  4. we would need some sort of translator to understand what you just said. boost is generally made when the car is under load. ie when you are driving the car. reading the guage whilst revving the car is not accurate. What guage are you using? I run an autometer guage which is quite accurate. however the stock guage is terrible, some may work fine but mine is very inaccurate.
  5. r33 gtr's can be had for mid 20k. the one you are looking at buying would want to be around 15k to even be worth doing. Even then id rather spend the extra 2 or so thousand and get one that is already running. Rebuilding an enginer would be a head f**K not too mention the wait and the trust that goes into the process.
  6. Hey guys, I have an R33 gtst. I currently have a set of R32 gtr seats in the front of my car but would like to know if R32 gtr rear seats fit well. I would go r33 gtr rear seats but im pretty sure the upholstery doesnt exactly match the R32's. Can anyone shed some light on this. Have tried searching but could only find info on R32 4-doors. Cheers in advance
  7. yeah its unfortunate but there is not much you can do. It was a serious wake up call and now i put my bike on the back of a ute if i want to go riding. Which is the way it should be. The guys didnt threaten me or anything.
  8. sorry mate but its been fixed already, i was informed that insurance companies who have insured the other guy (i wasnt insured riding an mx bike) wont do me any favours at all. this means i cant choose where they are to obtain quotes from, where i want the car repaired. its all up to the owner of the vehicle. no doubt she chose the highest quote she could as the prices started at 2600 and went right up to 5300. they even tried to charge me a $300.00 towing fee from their house to the repairer!!!! terrible hey considering he drove the car 600km from Kal to perth after the accident hahaha. cheers for the offer but mate, would have been super handy if i was able to choose the repairer, however they have knocked a grand off the bill anyways so im more than happy to cooperate with them now.
  9. i can vouch for fibrevision's work. rang the bloke there and got him to make up a 400r front bar for my 33 as it was booked in to replace the existing front bumper. he made the bumper in something like 2 days and it was at my door in 3 days. I live in Kalgoorlie, 600kms from Perth so he's a very convenient guy to go through. the bumper wasn't rushed and done poorly either. it was solid as. didnt require any modifying by the panel and paint place and when i picked the car up they said this is the only fibreglass bumper they had had no problems fitting. he's pretty good for prices too. may charge more than some places but you know the bumper's etc are brand new and made to a high quality.
  10. gave them a call today came to a better/easier agreement. Instead of paying installments every week of 'x' amount of dollars i asked about making two larger payments to pay off the debt and she was more than happy to help me out. She was actually very very accomodating to my situation.... She has given me 6 weeks to pay off the debt however if it is paid before the 6 weeks she will reduce the total down to $4000.00 so all i have to do is make two payments of 2000. Piece of cake. Once again sorry to all. I may have worded things poorly in my previous posts. Im not in a bad mood anymore haha.
  11. well she said i cant choose the amount to be deducted each week its calculated on my earnings so yeah i played it hell poor. she was like oo your not left with much etc ahaha. but i would rather get rid of it and move on than have to see the debits coming out of my account for the next year or two. it is a lesson learnt thats for sure. I took riding in public areas for granted. I can now see some sense as to why its not permitted. It's just not safe for anyone. Im lucky i hit a parked car on someones lawn than a car travelling at 50kph down a road. I considered myself lucky when i walked away from it and a police report was not written as it would have definately resulted in a loss of drivers license and some fines to boot.
  12. sorry to the guys that were trying to offer advice. i acted like a dick myself. I was mis-informed about what my options were by some people in the past saying i had the right to request 3 x quotes, choose the quote etc etc etc..... Turned out as said above that info was incorrect. It's just a bit terrifying knowing im in debt. I thought people were trying to take a stab at me or something. never the less mods can close/delete thread as my questions have been answered.
  13. cheers mate, thats exactly what i wanted to hear, a straight forward answer explaining my options (which are very limited) I told the lady on the phone yesterday, i said straight out. " ive done the right thing by giving my details, choosing to do the right thing and pay this debt" I told her i could have given a fake name as i never took off my helmet and would have never heard another thing about it all and gotten away with everything. but im too honest to do that and im heaps superstituous when it comes to carma. But yeah i will have another word to them today and see what discount they can do me if i pay a few large lump sump payments instead of weekly direct debits. She was very nice and understood my situation which is good. When it comes down to it i realise i did the wrong thing. heck its a small town and the need to use utes/trailers to take your mx bikes out to some bush was not necesarry. however i wont be letting my tyres touch a paved road ever again. The authorities in kalgoorlie dont seem to care too much for people who ride their bikes on the roads as long as its safe however i wont be risking this again. A 10-minute moto ride cost me $5000.00!!!!! Its just not worth the risk anymore and last weekend was the first time i rode my bike since the accident. I am happy i didnt end up with a broken leg or even worse, dead. Cheers for eveyones input its jsut hard coming to terms being honest has cost me $5000 bucks.
  14. here we go. always some dik in every thread. are you retarded or do you not understand? to be insured for riding an mx bike you must be on a licensed track or in a proposed riding area. They will NOT pay out a claim for someone who is riding on the side of the road. This may help you understand better: People who crash a mates car and their insurance policy doesnt include other drivers then the insurance company wont pay out the claim. Works on the same principles. Everything you said above was pointless, i asked for advice from people who may have been involved in a similar situation in the past. I do have insurance for my car only!
  15. thats shocking hey. seriouslyt whats with hyundais? it should have been a write off ahahha nah i will have a word to them today. offer them one lump sum payment and see what they can do. they usually reduce the total. and btw i didnt crash intp the accent in a car. i crashed my mx bike into it. whats funny is the bike only suffered a few scratches and the hyundai received a bent chassis rail, banged up cross member, screwed reo bar, broken front bar etc. they really are shite cars
  16. Hey guys, after 3 months of waiting the Insurance debt collectors have finally gotten in touch with me. This time they asked for even more money. They attached images, reports and assessor info. The first price they gave was $3800.00 now they are asking for $5000.00!!!! Im unsure of what to do as i look at buying a house in the next year or two and dont want a bad cross against my name if i choose not too pay it. Firstly i was never given any rights to this. - I never was offered three quotes. - I was never given the choice of the repairer and which quote to use - The only time they call me is when they want money. - I was kept in the dark about eveyrhting until now. Its total bs guys, i have a kid on the way in a few months and i have these pr i cks trying to take me for everything they can. I have not informed my old folks about it as they would spit chips bigtime if they found out i crashed into a car hahah. and they would prob take my bike off me as punishment. People say go to court etc, well thats all well and good but i may be charged for riding my bike on the road losing my drivers licence, paying fines etc. and then sitll have to pay the debt. Putting me further behind. Can anyone give me any logical advice? Not advice like "man youve been raunted, ignore their calls", this doesnt help as these pricks will continue to hassle me.
  17. well guilt toy instead of being a dik maybe you could offer advice? URAS can i simply remove the fcd without any modifications needing to be done or will the wires going to the fcd need to be re-connected correctly? My questions are: a) Are there many people out there that know what theyre doing when it comes to tuning these little devices? b) Would it be worthwhile removing the fcd or getting it tuned properly? c) Could this unit be entirely responsible for the car to be running lean? d) Does anyone recommned a setting for it to be set at?
  18. i havent touched the fcd as i no nothing about them other than they are named "fuel cut defender's" ahahha. it was there when i bought the car. I can see that whatever is causing the car to lean out is affecting the whole rpm range. I have a air/fuel meter and it also indicates the car running lean at 3000+ rpm's. i can see i have several options. I can replace most of the consumables such as fuel pump, fuel filter etc, if that doesnt fix the problem i will look at getting some better/bigger injectors put in as i plan on doing a turbo upgrade and running more boost down the track. I also have a feeling my coil packs are cracked and a not performing to their full capacity so i will do a quick fix on those to see if that helps. if it does then i will also replace those with some new ones.
  19. sorry. its an rb25, turbo is stock. when i say decent ecu i refer to pfc, haltech etc. currently running stock ecu. but should be pumpin out a bit more then 240hp i would presume? had a nice big flat spot around 5000rpm too. also noticed a lot of unburnt fuel (black cloud) coming out of exhaust at that time.
  20. Hey guys, Have made a similar post in the past however misread the dyno print out. They were doing free power runs in town so i thought i would go down and see what my car is making. It made 239.5hp atw. however from about 5000rpm onwards the afr's are reaching 13.5. is this normal? The mods i have are as follows: - FMIC - Running 10psi boost - 3.5 Turbo back exhaust - Pod with CAI - Iridium plugs - HKS FCD (found it by accident one day ahah) From what i understand is the AFR's should sit around 12 or below? Is there anything i can do to fix this? Obviously by getting a decent ECU but i want to avoid that for now, there must be something causing this? dead fuel pump? bad coil packs? Help boys!
  21. Hey guys, had my car on a dyno the other week for a power run, they put a sensor in the exhaust etc etc, I dont know much about dyno's. On the print out the AFR;s reached just above 15 on full boost. I have been told that this is a sign of a dieing fuel pump. however im wondering, is the fuel pump internal or external as i would rather replace it with something better then the factory pump. Will a bosch fuel pump work? something along the lines of a 040. If so what is the part number? Do i need to alter any of the existing fuel lines, fuel pressure etc? Any help will be greatly appreciated. The car is a S1 R33 gtst. Made 240 hp atw running not tip top. At a certain point the power curve went horizantal and then back up again. As this happened a big black cloud of un burnt fuel came out. then it shows that its running lean at 15 (afr's) Help guys!
  22. i live in kal, currently in Malaysia, i drive a burgundy R33, has 400r kit, big exhaust, front mount, black gt-t rims etc. Some of you might have seen it from time to time. I have seen a few around, there are a few silver 33's getting round too.
  23. yeah i know i need a computer etc ( i dont really want a afc as i have future mods in mind) but i just want some decent responses.
  24. Had my car do a power run on a dyno yesterday, was free so thought why not. However the dyno sheet had a steavy curve upwards but then hit a flat spot and literally was a straight line and then back up, it sounded like it was running excessively rich as well at that point in time (almost sounded like it was bogging down). The dyno print out gave me 240hp at the wheels and the AFR's were at around 14-15 when boosting. the highest they reached were 15.25. which from what i understand is fairly high. The mods i have are as follows: FMIC 10 Psi Boost Pod 3.5" exhaust turbo back just the basics. I know without a decent a/m computer there is not much i can do however i would like some feedback from some of the more knowledged users such as r31 nismoid etc. Just want a straight forward answer on how to fix these problems and have my car running close to 300hp at the wheels.
  25. hey got some off this guy off ebay 6 months ago, paid 120 for them, brand new, they are some jap brand, will have a look. they do have a website as i have visited it before. they are clear and look real clean.,
