  1. ive got a carbon one. no idea where the guy before me got it though but they are out there. looks awesome
  2. yeah id say your losing a lot of spark with the coil packs. try the tape job and see if that makes any difference. if it does take them out and put that high temp silicon around the casings for a more permanent/cheap fix. tape with heat will disintergrate in no time and your back to square one. however if its not the coil packs id be getting at least a afc to controll the air fuel mixtures. it sounds like its running incredibly rich to the point it affects performance.
  3. ok guys, this is my problem, it occured after i changed the batteries in my alarm remote control. They died so i drove it to the shop and chucked new ones in then this: I unlock the car, put the key in the ignition, turn to start and nothing, normally it would start but all the electrics come on and it just merely wont allow the engine to turn over. All of the warning lights eg. Hicas, oil, etc come on except for the cat sensor? (the light that shows what looks to be a cat with heat coming off it) this comes on when i turn the key to start the car and back off when i leave it at ignition. Im not sure if this could be related but i think maybe the sensor after the cat may be blocked as my old cat converter was cactus and had baiscally disintergrated in the exhaust leaving this crappy grey dust stuff in there. I think it has clogged the sensor. Im not sure. Anyone had anything similar happen? It starts occasionally however if i turn the car off then go to start it again this will occur 90 percent of the time. So pretty much its to risky to drive somewhere encase it wont start. Any ideas guys?
  4. sorry dude yeah thats what i tried to explain. i turned the key so the lights come on. but still nothing after i have pressed the button, normally the button will disarm the immobiliser/alarm once the key is turned, however it unlocks the doors where it never use to do that. strange huh!
  5. Ok guys, first is first. My batteries in my alarm remote went flat so i replaced them with new ones. This solved the problem of not being able to arm/disarm the alarm using the remote. I hopped in the car and then went to turn the car over and it wouldnt. It was like i needed to press the unlock button so that the immobiliser is turned off. However i did this and still nothing. I was dumbfounded! I unhooked the battery leads and drained the power out, this still did nothing. I tried using the little device on the keys to manually disable the immboliser/alarm and this still did nothing. The problem only arose when i changed the batteries! Can someone please help me! I can get into my car fine. thats not a problem anymore. I jsut cant start it! all the accessories etc come on but it just wont let me turn it over. Could this be related to central locking? as my left hand side door is playing up atm and is not locking on its own anymore.
  6. i didnt leave a note. i literally hit the car got up all shaken up and they come running out to see if i was alright. got an email from some debt collectors the other day. they want payment, told them there not going to get a cent until the insurance company contacts me respectfully and provides me with information. the only info they gave me was to pay this etc etc.
  7. cheers for the advice guys. Got a call from their insurance company yesterday. The dumb btich had no idea what she was talking about. I was very rude as i was pretty insulted with her saying i was liable for the whole lot. There is not much i can do. Everyone has different answers however i have pretty much come to terms with i will have to end up paying something, how much is the question. The insurance company will pay the owner of the car off, which is good, and then they will come to me looking for money from me. Its a fcuked up system really. I am going to set a limit and tell them im not paying anything more than that. I will explain the damage i caused was superficial (cosmetic) and they can go fcuk themselves for all i care. Why do good people get fcuked over!!!!
  8. i did hit the car front on. my bike slid into the front. like i visually inspected the car after i got up and spoke to the guys. from what i could see i busted the front bumper, the windscreen washer bottle and the under water shield. Thats it aye. The radiator was fine etc. So how i busted everything else who knows. But i do beleive these people have backstabbed me bigtime. I could have started my bike and gave it legs out of there. but i am too honest to do that to someone. I would love to be able to organise to view the car at a smash repairer but i live in kalgoorlie. the guys car is actually his mums and they live in Perth. So thats why i am asking around. Technically shouldnt i be able to choose the repairer so long as it is MTA approved or whatever its called.
  9. the car was parked outside the guys house. Was on a gravel section near his front gate. so next to his driveway. Not on the road though;.
  10. well thats it. i got straight up and was fine. Mind you i wasnt in a car park dude. i was being a dickhead and riding on the road. then glanced down for a second to see if my boot buckle had come lose and hit a kerb, the bike slid out sideways and BAMMM into the front of a parked Hyundai Accent. I rung the guy that they got the quote from and told him i think his quote is BS etc etc. He didnt want to reason with me, not that i gave a shit. as if i would choose that place for them to get it repaired. Now can someone tell me how a dirtbike that weighs roughly 85kg and me weighing the same travelling at hmm about 50kmh can apparently cause this much damage. I live in kalgoorlie mate so thats why im asking who in perth is cheap to get body work done at. I dont care for these people anymore. I did the right thing by giving them my details. Had no idea they would try to screw me over so bad. The guy at the panel shop that forwarded the quote on said cant do much about it car is still under new car warranty. I said no its not. Its been three years and hes like ahhh, ummm ahhh ahahhaha. D!CK!!!!!! Anyways guys any help would be appreciated. Im going over seas in 5 weeks, then again in 2 weeks and then have to pay this BS car off. Im in a tight situation. Especially when my missus and i are expecting a child in September.
  11. To cut a long story short i crashed my CRF250 into a parked Hyundai Accent. Now anyone would think i was doing the car a favour, however i decided to be a genuine person and give the owner my details. MY dirtbike had collided with the front of the parked Accent causing damage to the front bumper, the windscreen washer bottle and the underneath splash shield. This is all i could visually see that i had damaged. Now the C**NTS are trying to charge me $4000.00 to get this heap fixed. I visually inspected the car and it seemed fine. well fine enough for the guy to drive 600km home to Perth. They sent me a quote trying to claim $1000.00 in labour dismantling the front end. Charging me to have the: - RHF chassis rail straightened - New bumper (I accept this) - New front bumper reinforcement (I accept this) - Lower engine splash shield (I accept this) - Radiator Support panel ( No idea what this is or if i even damaged it) - New engine cross member (GTFO if im paying for that) - New front bumper clips ( Probably unnecesarry) - Splash shield clips ( Maybe necesarry) doubt it The barstads are even charging me for toxic waste disposal, and to regas the airconditioner!!!!!! This is not my car, i do not care for this car. the owner tried to screw me over on this bigtime. Kind of regret not starting my bike and riding away. I accepted i was doing the wrong thing therefore gave them my details. Had no idea they were going to F**K me over like this! Got a kid on the way and really cant afford this right now. Any ideas? I cant claim insurance as who insures themselves when riding a trail bike???? After a cheapo place to send them to to get a quote. I thought doing the right thing would be appropriate. Geuss not.
  12. my parents bought me my car for my bday. i know lucky right. well if i was to get it insured in my name i would be paying around $2000 +. however in my mums name she gets some ridiculous figure like 60% off as she has everything insured with them and has been a member for like 25 years. so she will end up paying like $1000 for my car for full insurance, allowing other drivers who drive my car to be covered also. she uses RAC.
  13. The time has come to chuck another new set of wheels on my R33 gtst. It's Maroon/Burgundy in colour and has the full 400r bodykit. Its a tough looking car apart from the small 17's i have on it. Want to upgrade to a nice set of 19's all round. Thinking that a nice black centred wheel with a chrome/polished lip would look awesome on mine. However need pics to help me work out which rims are best suited to my tastes and my car. i like advice from other owners as it helps me decide what i would like. Any help would be appreciated. Im willing to spend around 2000.
  14. friday night just passed, my car (located in kalgoorlie) got two tyres let down thankfully they werent slashed and someone jumped up on it, ran across the boot over the roof and down the bonnet, leaving me wondering....do these people want to be killed? honestly its like they go out of their way to get the sh it beaten out of them. given the amount of "indigenous" up here i see in this particular car park im almost convinced it was them. who else has the time to sit around all night letting air out of tyres honestly...... so im left with 4 dents (fairly shallow) one on my boot two on my roof and one smack bang in the middle of my bonnet. makes me wonder sometimes how often people get screwed for doing the right thing and having goals to own nice cars etc.
  15. kingsway shopping centre... dodge area. had my 1 month old 2001 rm 125 stolen from that neighbourhood.
  16. update: the workshop called me, turns out to be the bracket (support) mount that the pedal mechanism is bolted to. turns it has snapped and needs replacing. thats the good news that its not serious, bad news is dont have access to my car for 5 days atleast. they are getting one from over east. oh well.
  17. yeah mate thats what im dreading, will keep everyone posted as i find out more info. still stunned it the clutch went so easily.
  18. yeah mate fluids fine, bled the cylinder this morning, thats fine, no air or anything, as i said i dont think its the clutch itself. im fairly certain its something to do with the engaging of it. ie pedal area, cylinder area. something to do with that. towed it to shop today. so should be fixed today/tomorrow.
  19. Was driving home from work yesterday. didnt even get 100m down the street. driving slowly ofcourse as the engine was cold. anyways, shifted into third, then slowed down and shifted slowly into second, when i put my foot on the clutch it made a small "click" and then wouldnt let me put the car into gear while it was running. the clutch pedal feels like it has lost 70% of its pressure and there are no leaks or anything. cant work out why it gave way going so slowly and with no real speed behind it. any help would be great
  20. prob bottom end bearings. would stop driving it
  21. Not sure what seats these are, mate of mine has them for sale. Are they Gtr seats? IF so what model? Have never seen them in that sort of upholstery before?
  22. looks like bore water stains from someones irrigation. happened to my vl.... also could be your clear coats fading. lack of clear results in stains.
  23. i have it too... its the starter motor. pop your bonnet, start your car (while your standing near the bay) and you can hear it comes from the rear of the engine bay. i assumed it was belts but it wasnt. its the mechnism in the starter motor not fully disengaging itself from the flywheel. either replace it or as they can get very dusty and dirty from brake dust etc take it out and give it a good clean. pretty sure they just dry up and need a bit of lubrication.
  24. Looking at buying some Bride seats for my car. Never been too keen on buying off ebay... but they come with travel insurance and if the transaction is done through ebay is it safe? Also how would i know if they are genuine? This is giving me a headache but i seriously need new seats.... any ideas boys? i think buying nationally is the only way to go...
  25. Bought a new in car retractable dvd unit. The thing is awesome, however i would like to watch tv stations on it as dvd's arent worth it as i live in a smallish town, drives are 15 minutes at the most. I would like to know do i need a receiver to watch news stations etc? How much are they? Will the dvd deck i have be able to display tv stations using just the antenna without having to buy a receiver of some sort? Any help woudl be greatly appreciated
