As far as im concerned he posted in the 'General Automotive Section' so the fact that he is talking about this car shouldnt be a problem. The great thing i like about SAU is not only that we are all fans of Skylines but we all share an automotive passion. He asked for feedback on a car his parents plan to buy him and although the thread was not aptly named, "Parents going to buy me a Golf R32", i think its getting a bit out of hand. Whether or not you choose to acknowledge his information as truth or not is up to you, personally i can see it being bullshit, but if it aint then good for him, doesnt mean you have to give him shit. As for his parents buying his car, i dont condone this act because like many of you i believe there is much more gratification and life experience earned from purchasing your own car whether it be from savings or through a loan (that has to be payed back, obviously). This, however, shouldn't automatically make him less of an enthusiast who has honest questions about his aledged cars. If any of you were put in a similar position at that age, what do you think you would do? I dont think many people can honestly vouch they would say "**** you mom and dad, im buying my own damn car." If anyones to blame, its his parents, not him. In short, ill be eating my own words if this is all bullshit, but i have more respect for the posters of this board than any other car related forums on the net, and this kind of response to someones post isnt really aligned with the rep. of said site, so, lay off.

What revs does a rb25 (with a rb25 gearbox obviously) sit at, @ approx. 110km/h in 5th? Just for reference, my mates wrx, gets about 400ish Km/Tank with a mix of highway/city and a bit of spirited driving. -
But it wont be defamation if there was no intent to maliciously injure another's reputation. (which from what i read, it was just to inform not injure)

Haha, this is like a tv show, i wanna see what happens.

Ban Turbo Cars From P Platers? Just wanna know where this stands...

Im still unsure about what happens if you get your P2's (Greens) after the 11th, will the new rules come into effect upon me? -

I found, r32 Gts-4, r32 gtr, Evo VII's (an odd one), Evo club spec 2 and 3 wrx's, early celica gt-4s, 98 supras, and just on a trivial note, stacks of volvos have been banned, yet they are (supposedly) some of the safest cars around. -

Ok my question still stands, what about those of us getting our P2's (greens) on or after the 11th of july, who already have there P1's (reds), such as is my situation, will i still fall under the 'already have a provisional license' clause? -

CHANGES will not apply to current P-plate licence holders unless they are disqualified for an offence after July 11; and ok, im on my Red P's and ill be gettin my greens at the end of july, after the 11th. 2 Questions: Do i hypothetically need to get a turbo car now so im not affected or because i already have my license can i get one whenever? and If i get my Greens after the 11th would it reset my details and make me unable to get a turbo car? -
If its possible ill pickup from dundas, otherwise if you distributing d00dz, ill pick up off you.

for those of you who werent there, this car is extremely loud (but ohh so awesome) http://www.realper4mance.com/events/dragco...bat2005_268.jpg

I agree about quality of cars a stock lancer with DYO time of 18 almost won, came runner up. Adrian on your 11.8 pass i heard some guy yell at you "bullshit thats a stock turbo" with a laugh on your way back near staging.

Also, would we be able to get a few people getting the AA0428 (http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?...eMax=&SUBCATID=) Id like both amps. =D
-
Ill be in this, that amp is awesome value.
-
Cheers mate, i was looking for an R32 manual, much appreciated !

Ive been here for just over a year and its been great, full of laughs, helpful information and great people. Personally i havent stood out and usually just come for a read buts its always been great. Cheers boys!
-
yeah its high mount but so what? AFAIK for a turbo that isnt going to warrant you changing alot on your engine but still have decent power for track/street work a 2535 would be fine.
-
Ill have a crack at it tonight...id prefer a stocker car but.
-
Yeah id have to agree there, Im a big follower of the F1 and chances of those figures being exact is slim, not to mention they usually like to match engine power to certain circuits. Renault actually recently went through with a engine upgrade for this weekends canadian grand prix with a myriad of changes resulting in alleged increased power.

HKS2535 on RB25DET results...round 1
b0neR replied to SeriesIIGTST's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
But even if the peak power gain is not terribly high wouldnt the whole control of a PowerFC and the increase in low/midrange torque and power be appealing? Not to mention it would probably result in a safer tune (less chance of the engine sh*tting itself). -
Yep

To be honest i have disliked drifting since i first heard of it, even to a point where i was getting real annoyed at HPi writing too many articles to do with it. I now accept it and can enjoy watching it if its being done properly but it is the hype that f*cks it up. Everyday i hear a mate say "look at those drift wheels" or "thatd be a mad car to drift in". Youngn's are even planning there cars (and even older guys) by how good it is at drifting (which most of the time is just a reputation anyway). Id prefer to watch a well setup car get some good lines around tsukuba and break some lap-time record personally. I even know of a group of guys who spend nights 'drifting' the streets, which is soo dangerous it aint even funny. I'm glad though that the feelings are generally mutual, at one point i thought i must of been the only friggin person that didnt really get a kick out of all the drift hype. In the end each to there own i guess, but drift aint for me.
