  1. 2 complete R30's went on ebay last week for under $300 each... so keep an eye out there there are a few in vic... but postage would be a killer i can retrieve some for you if your desperate

  4. theres 3x MR30s at Kilsyth pick a part, along with a Z31 turbo i saw get stripped of its struts and other goodies in about 8 min flat by a ralley crew... theres also a 280zx there, lots of 200b's and sunnys, blueys, no 1600 etc though i had a list of stuff to get, but forgot the toolbox!

I had a look at it last night... havent seen it in about 6 months. the belts are shagged, the lil vac lines are cracked, pulleys on the front are pretty messy (a bit stiff and surface rust) i would put it on an engine stand or workshop, put your stuffed motor next to it, and put your good pulleys & belts on it. along with the vac lines too... will give it a high pressure steam clean before it gets to you too! (cobwebs & dust...) then flush the coolant system, and an oil & filter change...

  9. I have one here in VIC... you can have it for $50.... all that is missing is... dizzy, and thats about it i think... Its got 250,000 km on it, but goes great. Came off a series 2 manual MR30 Ti i could put a battery on it & it would start... I was keeping it to rebuild i I ever popped my existing L24, but if that happens I will just get a L28 or VQ30det, or RB30et.... or a Cummins diesel If you call up a shipping place, see how much it will cost you to get an engine on a pallat shipped from my place (postcode 3134,Ringwood VIC) to wherever you are
  10. my mate has a stock vl pump on his RB30et setup.... pushing 190kW at the rears.... through VLt turbo injectors (270cc i think) is pretty much maxed out the R31 pump is an internal one, and the VL one is external. Vl pumps are cheap at the wreckers, just check the km on the dash before pulling one out of a 380,000km wreck... also give it a really good flush and clean before useing it... hookup wires and run a few litres of fuel through it into a bucket etc... it may be worth getting a Repco? Ryco? clear plastic high flowing fuel filter too.... then change it in a month or something to see if its full of residue etc OR you can get new bosch or walbro units for $150 from bursons etc
  11. if you have the E88 head, it is lower compression than my N47... so Im officially worried! I think if you get a gasket taken to a metal laser cutting/waterjet place and get them to make up a 3mm copper gasket to start with (i think the HKS ones were 3mm) i think if you get a N42 from a L28 it might lower the comp a bit.... Ghostridcer will know.
  12. make sure you add the right stickers and autobarn washer nozzles and chrome hubcaps... oh and its GOT to have the throwover seat covers. nightshades 5 inch cannon and go to antrx.com....... read for about 3 days. dont post anything, just search & read. the bottom line is: SR20det fits, need a SR20de gearbox from N14/15 pulsar OR get a KA24e 5 speed manual, get the SR bellhousing bolted to that (with a 4 minute grind job) need bluebird engine mounts or custom need pulsar driveshafts & cv joints, possible custom new exh new loom

  14. well the coronas are pretty tuff... theres an 'avante' model with a 2.4 liter 4cyl. can get them under 2k the toyota tarago (smooth shape) has the 100kw version of the engine, can do head swaps etc and get a pretty decent setup as they have a fair bit of torque... but its hard to go past an R31..... in some drift series thing that was in tassie 2 of the podium placers were R31s look for 'jpriseman' as he was one of the place takers.... Another car is a cressida.... they are a bit more exxy but really strong if you put a thicker headgasket in etc... i reckon just go for the R31, even a R31 pintara with a CA18det if you like revs!

OK MY WEEKEND SHOPPING LIST: 1x L24e AFM for ceece 1 foot or so of wire from temp sensor incl sensor for nodz and a busted afm connector with wiring & connector (got one in shed) will try & get it sorted... update this thread and will finalise on friday... costs etc willl be sorted following week?
  20. ceece is running a L24e by memory... I have one but its my only spare... Thera are a few at local wreckers... can prob check on sunday for ya.

  23. just look for a 2nd hand L24e from a series 2.... would take about 4 hrs to do.... old engine out, new one in.... then get the old one taken to a mechi and get it stripped down for spares
