  1. My car had 130,000km and they needed replacing...
  2. I remember reading a members thread on ozdat, i think it was an 'under $2000 challenge' and it looked like a weekend to strip, a weekend to install, and a weekend to finish..... cheap fun!!!! Same goes for the R31 Pintara (CA20 aswell) but they handle a bit shite, and are heavier than the S12 im sure...
  3. Yes bring ths Gz... havent seen a good one YET
  4. I reckon we should just have a '1st friday of the month' cruise & meetup. So if anyone wants to cruise, just remember that at xyz on teh 1st friday of the month at 9:30 till 10:00 a nice little cruise goes on. Have a meet spot that involves food...
  5. There is one place that has TONNES of JDM rims, in Parramattaa. Otomoto http://otomoto.shop033.com/c/4073478/1/used-wheels.html Ben is a great guy to deal with, has been on the scene for YEARS, really knows his stuff. The rare/big dish type rims normally sell pretty quick, even before they arrive in the country, so check the web-page regularly...
  6. Sif there was races in ACT!!!!
  7. I can confirm that there has been alot of problems with fuel since the floods in qld. I know of at least 6 cars now that have crapped themselves due to fuel. Tank clean and new filter, and purged lines have fixed them all.! (including my R30 Hatch which is in Brissy at the moment)
  8. Can you list the part numbers for the coilovers? Im checking to see what other models they may suit.....
  9. Hey I need some stuff done too, (as well as panel prep info!) PM me your details and will get in touch.
  10. I cant see any use in putting in a second hand item at all. Its still going to be clapped outsometime soon. Its a common wear and tear item. You CAN get new ball joints pressed in, just need to find a competent fitter. Most pedders type places may have a good operator who can do it. DONT give em the job it they are a dodgey looking place, or if they get some 17year old paint sniffer to do it for them.... The new ones for $75 each arent too bad either. Would look into this for sure. Maybe get it done by a workshop so if the part fails or breaks soon, they will replace or fix it under warranty.....
  11. Id also check if the injectors have leaked and then gummed up (fuel tyurned to varnish like substace) and now blocked. Same thing happened to me! It would run for a few seconds then just die. I found out the cold start injector (the agricultural irrigation like fuel injector in the intake plenum) was spraying enough fuel during cranking to actually get it to run. Once the starter motor stops the cold start injector stops too. Maybe test it out by un-plugging the cold start injector (simple clip on plug) and see what happens.
  12. if he gives it back!
  13. Its a buyers market really, only sells for what the buyer wants to pay. $1500 would be considered a bargain, $5000 is not going to get sold in a hurry. I missed out on one that I offered $1500 for, silly old lady sold it for $700 3 days before I had the money. It got chopped up and sent overseas for parts.
  14. 200b to 240k compatability? Well the IRS may have some similarities for starters. The L20b 4 cyl im pretty sure shares the same timing components as the L24. Suspension and brakes will depend on the year of the 200b, as im pretty sure the earlier ones had Japanese type calipers and mounting holes, then the later ones had Aus calipers (or ones readily available in Aus) And yes, they are not the comfiest or most economical, but are getting rarer each year, and cool factor / retro status is increasing. Power wise you have 30 plus years of modification options! Tripple carbs, dual carbs, big singles, EFI and turbo. My choice would be to find a wrecked MR30 skyline (factroy efi, high compression, better fuel economy if tuned well) and pull the engine & running gear from that, slot into the 240k. Although thinking outside the box is something not done too often with the 240k, like a diesel conversion or rotary! (sr20det even....)
  15. Here you go. Looks real nice i think. Not shabby at all... Definitly better than the red & black ones that keep popping up....
  16. Pics will greatly enhance your chances of selling!
  17. looks actually real nice Dan. What are the specs on those rims??? If I had a spare few K and some room I'd definitly consider it. Really hope it stays in one piece and goes to a caring home. IF YOU GET CONTACTED BY AN OVERSEAS TYPE INTEREST DO NOT SELL IT TO THEM. Get in contact with me IMMEDIATLYERRAGH if this happens.
  18. yep, me too. MX83
  19. If its a C211 turbo loom required, then Socrates parts car will have the bits. If its for a late model L20et conversion into a C211, then you will need the loom to match the engine. i.e the 3x plug ECCS item (not 2 plug) I'd get a new one made anyways, the old looms have shite corroded contacts, cracked and broken plugs. alot of hassle when diagnosing ' why the hell wont this run properly'
  20. Hey Scot are these still available? Would you take $3000 for the lot? (seriously) pm me or call back (have left messages on your voicemail) Cheers, Andrew
  21. Got a mate in UK after a set...
  22. I wonder if he would sell me the rear 1/4 window door seals! Looks like a LOT of work needed....
