R34 Gtr Stock Turbos For An R32 Gtr
im late replied to im late's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thank you everyone for all your comments. I did not know the 34's are ceramic. Based on this I will save to get something better later. -
Hi All, We all know the R32 ceramics aren't the best for boost increases, so most R32 owners people upgrade their turbos. Are the R34 GTR ball bearing a worthwhile replacement? Also I assume they are steel fins. And most importantly what is the max PSI they are able to produce? I see alot of R34 GTR owners who upgrade their turbos for aftermarket ones so quite often R34 GTR stockers come up for sale quite cheap. I'm just wondering if it is a worthwhile upgrade. I am not looking for mega horse power.....If I wanted that I would have to pay a visit to my bank manger............. Cheers, Adam

With regards to going over the pits and which pit branch..IT DOES NOT really matter... I mean I got yellowed once and ended up getting more defects once I was there (no grill in front of the intercooler, small tear on the drivers seat, steering cololum lever "to hard" to adjust, coilvers) Ahh coilovers... thats a funny one. The first inspector failed the coilovers.. (said ride was too hard) The second inspector passed them with flying colurs.. (quote "it not hard at all" unquote......) Lesson learned that day.................. wether you pass or fail certain modes depends on the individual inspector!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Merli, I've updated my post.

Exhaust Question Sizes Etc For 32 Gtr
im late replied to Angus Smart's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi Angus, I would go with a 90mm cat back, especially if you are planning in the future to extract some high HP from your RB26DETT.... -
I have noticed that these items are very popular with people snapping them up whenever they come up for sale in the forums. Are they a noticable upgrade to the standard AFM's?? Is it purely becuse they have a larger internal diameter?? Any comments on its attributes? Cheers
-
I have a Mines Tuned ECU in my R32 GTR. I only have a cat back exhaust, the rest of my car is standard (boost, turbos, etc....). In terms of reliability my car is perfectly reliable for the australia climate, RON of fuel (I use BP98). Cold starts are perfect, etc...... I aggree though with some of the guys here that if you want to start modding your car then you would need to look at a aftermarket ECU (pref aussie made one e.g. haltech) as there is local support and servicing). If you are going to leave it stock then enjoy the car as it is!! my 2 cents......

Good to hear your Godzilla is back on the road. We all know how it feels to not have our machines off the road!!!!! BTW... Excellent run-in tune power figure (with your setup)
-
I recommend Stuart @ Dent Craft (His business). He is very thorough, top quality work. I have used him for my last four cars!! FREE CALL! 1300 659 897

Incorrect. If the ECU is password protected from any change in settings (settings that only get programmed by an authorised tuner) then it can be engineered. A good example of this is Haltech.

Thank you so much for telling my your experience. I now feel better

Damit! That is a cool joke. Good work
