The car is under a mechanical warranty, which covers faulty parts, but the mechanic cant find what is faulty. So far, two coils have been replaced, and all the others have been extensively tested (but not in the car - how does that work?) and the plugs have been replaced. They check the coils using a megameter (or similar name), checks the resistance of the coil which tells em if its fu@#ed.

the boosting feels really flat now, it sounds like its boosting and the guage(stock one) shows that the boost is increasing at 4.5rpm but the car doesnt seem to be picking up quick enough. Also at night when it gets cold, the boost almost gets up to the +7 on the stock guage which cant be good. i got fmic, turbo-back exhaust, stock ecu, no boost controller. Im going to take it in 4 a tune soon, hopefully they can sort it out.

did you upgrade to splitfires due to missfire at high revs?

i had the same problem a while back and a set of iridium plugs fixed the problem perfectly, just got a front mount and exhaust installed and its back, possibly even worse than b4. Does anyone think it could be the fuel filter or fuel pump?

got my front mount and exhaust installed, left the cat guts in, i agree its not worth the risk for a few extra kw's. Got a whole new bunch of problems now, yipee!

i have irridium plugs gapped to .8 and i have checked my coils, they are fine. Its weird coz it never happens in 1st even when i redline, the higher the gear the more it pops. Im getting a boost guage installed on the weekend because my stock boost is almost getting to the +7 mark on my stock boost guage, which is alot of boost for just front mount and exhaust. Also my solenoid isnt connected to a nipple at the moment as the new kit didnt have one so its setup with some sort bypass at the moment.

I have an R33 gts-t which used to pop like crazy at 4.5rpm got irridium plugs which solved the problem. I recently got front mount and exhaust put it so naturally the car is boosting alot higher now and the popping/missfire is back. Alot of people have told me its just the timing and i should get it tuned up. The popping or missfire isnt as bad as before, it doesnt always happen or when it does if i hammer it and i keep the revs above 4.5grand within gear changes it doesnt do it either. I have been told that the stock ecu tunes itself and a tune would be pointless, is this true? Car is stock other than mods mentioned. Also could it be the fuel pump?

i have just installed a FMIC onto my s2 R33, the installation is good but i have no idea what to do with the boost controller now. I have a manual boost controller and the piping from my kit doesnt have anywhere to attach the hose from the boost conroller. How do i go about doing this? Have gone through the DIY section and done some searches, but all the info is fairly brief. Any links or help would be great, cheers

Might just leave the one i got as i have a kit fitted and car is getting resprayed next week, dont wanna burn that fresh paint.

i am buying a JJ dump/front pipe this week and am wondering what to do about the cat, i already have an aftermarket cat-back. I have been told to knock out the inside of my current cat-back to get most airfolw out of it (yes, i know it would then be illegal). Im wondering how much louder would it be (current loudness is sounds great but not loud enough to get unwanted attention)? And would doing this be the equivelent, if not better (air flow wise) than buying a hiflow cat?

i had this problem 4 ages, bought normal plugs and gapped them, fixed it for about 2 days then became worse than b4 so i bought iridium plugs, havent had a single pop since. It's heaven

got mine today, doesnt have the hole, i have no boost guage yet so im just playing around with it a little, if i boost it up to 7psi going by the factory guage, do you think that would b safe? i think my factory guage shows less boost than the car is actually running?

just to be different im gonna say they pretty crappy, i was gonna get some for my 33 or some clear tail lights but i cant replace the factory rings, they are way too good.
