  1. pixel8r im running same turbo kit as you, identical. Do you know if fitting a different actuator to it is something that we can do? I'm not sure what actuator bill is using on his hybrids, they look new though. could be one provided by garrett?

  6. Yeah haha thats the guy, my mate mat was around his place with him before today i think or yesterday... had parts for it around the place and he was trying to get it all fixed and was asking me a few questions thru mat about headlights and purge tanks...

  15. Yes it was. I blew my turbo after an exhaust install which I accuse of foul play, then I decided... hmm... get a stock one, or do what I was gonna do in 6 months anyway. So I bought a GT30R turbo and havent looked back, now I need new injectors, afm and ECU, and most probably splitfires. Theres nothing unnessesary about that for my target power of 250kw. BTW, I just paid 700 dollars for a metal cat with 700CFM of flow and a customised dump pipe with a screamer attachment, and I wasnt gettin my money back, so I had ATS make me a kit that utilized the GT3076R compressor wheel in the RB25 housing (after being max hiflowed), and its been excelent so far. The GT30's are great turbos and are, I think, a great replacement for those looking to see ~ the 260kw mark after they have finished engine modifications
  16. It looks like mine did (w/o the dirt) when I got mine fitted, its fine, carby clean it and then fit it.

Go get yourself a Hi mount manifold with external wastegate fitment, 250~, get an external wastegate ~300-600 depending on what you buy, get a Garrett GT3076R from slides or soemwhere cheap, ~1800 or so, get a computer after that, with bigger injectors and a bigger AFM, then be happy with ur brand new car pretty much. If you want stealth mode, get a GT30R hybrid with IW, 1,800-2000 or so, keep you stock low mount manifold, get a cheap but good manual boost controller, set it to 9-10psi and keep it there until you find money for other stuff.

If what you are getting is r&r because the full zorst you fitted has unrestricted the airflow and is making your turbo boost slightly harder, ECU says "OMG what has he done!" and starting slitting its wrists then you need to turn your boost DOWN... Car's will boost a bit higher in the colder months, since the air is denser. If you have a boost controller, mechanical or electronic, turn the boost down, also, if you believe the car is missfiring and not so much just stopping at 4,500-5,000 rpm or so, then get your spark plugs gapped to 0.8mm as this is probably the issue if you are missfiring. If you have recently just changed spark plugs, then they are most likely pregapped at 1.1mm, this is not close enough and will produce missfiring in colder weather with a full zorst from turbo-back.

  21. OK, You have a rubber tube, coming off your turbo. That tube is connected to your Nissan AIR FLOW METER (AFM). This AIR FLOW METER is what your K&N Pod is connected to. Without the AFM your car will not run properly. To change your pod over, disconnect the hose clamp at the Pod filter end of the AFM and then take off your pod. Then fit the new Pod where the last one was. An Apexi Power Intake filter is just a filter and "Power Intake" is nothing but a name and does not describe the function of the filter. It doesnt use power to run and you don't get an AFM with any Pod filter. Keep your K&N filter, It is good for a long time and the difference you will see with an Apexi is nothing you will feel on the throttle. There is alot of guides and faq's and explanations on this site, the SEARCH button is ultra-handy. (Blitz im bein helpful...)
  22. or is it 15 to 17cc = 1 hp ... i forget. EDIT: I think that's at engine... and a typical calculation for normal modern cars... Im sure that Nismo 555cc injectors are rated 555hp, and 740cc injectors are 740hp...
