can i get soemthing straigth here... my clutch is burnt out, it still driveable, but u need it hit boost for it to grip properly. all im looking at is a clutch replacement right? nothing else unusual is happenin with the car apart from a clutch odour.

i got quoted 400 dollars for clutch fitment, machined flywheel, rear main seal replacement. i said the above. did your cost of 250-300 include the rear main seal or the flywheel being machined? so that means, 300 for cluctch and 100 for flywheel and rear main seal.

next person to quote the fast and the furious gets a kick in the teeth from this guy

I changed the oil to Redline Lightweight Shockproof and havent looked back. IMO fully synthetic redline oils are the way to go. they recommend lightweight shockproof for racing applications in 33gts-t but ive had no nicking since changing to this oil. also, yes the synchros are slowly f**king in ur car, a rebuild may be needed down the track, the 125 dollar option for redline oil is a mask for the problem, if u keep nicking after 5kms after the oilchange to redline, u will probably need a synchro replacement in ur gearbox. synchro replacing isnt needed on a regular basis, but maybe the little jap guy that drove ur car before u has hammered the f**k out of it or learnt to drive a manual in it lol. nah enrico's right, its mainly the driver. any chump can put his foot down, but coming to a corner its experience that counts and power that goes oooout the window. the better you can drive, the more you understand about driving techniques etc, the faster u drive, the more seconds you knock off etc. When does power become boring? how long is a piece of string? in terms of wanting to go faster and become a better driver, track time is an investment for some and recreation for others, or both.

just buy a heap of steel wool and jam it in 3.25'' pvc pipe and use that as a filter.

I bought one off ebay. Will tell you how it goes in terms of fitting and performance. They are ALL the same and the only safe insurance you gain in spending 30-40 dollars more (or in my case 100 dollars more) is that you are dealing with a business that has given you an address to yell at if something goes wrong. Though, the one I bought off ebay did too and has a great trader rating with most parts being over 200-300 dollars..

thanks for the replies fellas alot of suggestions, im going to go with getting a clutch myself from sliding performance, their prices are good. unless i can find the same one elsewhere. 5puk button clutch kit from SP seems like a good price, 500 delivered, and plenty for the power I'm hoping to achieve. Is there anything else I'll need to buy along with the clutch... i JUST changed my f**king oil (gbox) to redline lightweight and its beutiful stuff and i want to still use it as most likely itll still be blue when it comes out.

Well I knew it would happen, and yes it did, sooner than expected (as seems the go with skylines) my clutch is ultra-f**ked. Just to clarify, clutch slipping through normal driving is clutch failure correct? (IE: revs certainly dont = power anymore and the over present odour.... lol). I want to know, is the best thing to do buy interstate clutch and then get it fitted here/ do it myself, or is there anywhere in adelaide I can get a clutch for ~550 dollars and then fit it myself/ cheap fitment around. I'll be looking at a steady 240kw for quite some time and I found a few kits by a seller named "ROGUEPI" off ebay that use exedy parts for modified street/ occasional clutch dumper rb25 for up to 240kw @ 490 odd buckeroos. Any help would be great, thanks.

its quite farken easy u see... u get a gapping tool, pick the gap u want, get ur spark plug out, tap them on the ground softly until the gapping ruler u are using fits between the sparking element and the underside of the tip. ur spark plugs come pregapped at 1.1 thats not enough for boost past 6-7psi. that will work, if ur unsure how to do it, go to ur mechanic.

I think its nessesary for people to critisize these supercars such as the Veyron. no one compares them to skylines but you can easily compare them to other supercars you love. for instance. I f**king hate the piece of shit f**king Veyron and I would NEVER buy it or trade it for my rb. thats how much i love the rb. instead id do the smart thing, trade it for my 33 then buy an other 33 and invest the other half of the million to get more money and buy a fricken 550 Maranello ferrari.
