Well my aim was 300kw at the end of this year, I want a turbo that can get the power at ~3000-3200 rpm. I was going to do a turbo upgrade 4 months from now after I had bigger injectors FMIC, management and all that jazz. But now I am forced to do it now, I got no time or money to play around with another second hand turbo or new stock one from nissan.

Um, if you have what I call a hi-flow cat (600-700CFM) with ur bmeter properly installed on the cat and there isnt any pieces of turbo fin stuck in it, then you should be getting an increase in response and a slight increase in power. I mean the ideal working conditions for a turbo is no pipes running off it at all but that would be highly impractical. What brand of 'hiflow' cat have you got?

So should I aim for 290kw then instead of aiming for 300 on a power fc... my original plans had power fc and still do but alot of people still say no to it... why? I want a hand controller its so cool... lol.

I have a stock car and as you may or may not know the turbo went bye bye recently due to or not due to a dump pipe installation that may have or may have not gone pear shaped when they were fiddling around my turbos holes... lol... Anyway I was going to order a GT3040 the other day when I realised I dont want a lag monster of a car. So my descision is now a GT30R. I was going to order the GT30R yesterday when I realised it just wasnt that simple. Garrett have a few flavours of the GT30 series... GT30 GT3071R - 700382-3 GT3071R - 700382-20 GT3076R - 700382-12 I have no idea which one to order, is anyone able to tell me from the spec sheets located: Turbo by Garrett Under Medium section, GT30 series. Any help is appreciated, would like to order one today. Paul.

I have heard that Power FCs are rubbish from people and to use just an SAFC and then when I come on here every1 hails Power FC again... Do you think the D-Jetro version of the Power FC is better then because it doesn't need a AFM from under the hood? This is important to me because I am torn apart from this descision of what ECU or Management system to get. Haltech I have heard tho are good ALL ROUND.

You are all being too harsh. I have my full licence now after 3 years on my P's I got my licence extended for 1 WHOLE YEAR because i got picked up for having parker lights on instead of full lights. A extremly TRIVIAL fine and I had to wait 1 FULL YEAR. P Platers in some to most cases DO control their car and are better drivers. But you will find when they CHOSE to is a rarity. What we need is a stronger LAW presence on the roads. I am a better driver than most of you, dont think I am cocky and overconfident, I say this because I see other people (maybe not you) on the road and driving like they dont have a f**kING CLUE and this happens all the time around me, when im driving or in passenger seat. To all you wankers that sit in the right hand lane picking your nose when there isnt any need to be in the right hand lane - To all you people that like to use their mirrors only when changing lanes, dont set the mirrors up correctly and never check their blind spot - To all you drivers out there who get a rush of blood to the head whenever you see a Skyline or any other cool car that you wish you had when you are driving your shit Mirsubishi Colt and trying to overtake when there is no point - To all you drivers that find the f**king NEED to cut people off and ignore the ARROWS ON THE f**kING TARMAC HIGHLIGHTING WHAT YOU CAN AND CANT DO IN A LANE!!!. - And finally. to all you drivers that do 45-50 on a 60 road and think its safer... you are only creating a time bomb behind you. They are called Potenza S-03's and I can only get them for ~400 dollars a tyre in 235/40/18 and thats god damn Bridgestone wholesale prices!. They stick to the road like all buggery in rain or dry tho, the best tyre wall and tread design I have ever seen.

watever.. lol.. tell it to my gt3040 if i decide to go ahead with that... do you know if thats the right turbo? I was planning new turbs in around 4 months... not right now... EDIT: I am thinking of leaving car off the road for around 8 weeks or so and doing mods to it and just turning it over every week for 20 minutes. What turbo would you get in my situation...? (And i dont want some ultra stock looking bored out hiflow quickfix turbo)
