i had the same issues mate, i bought my car stock with 3 inch cat back and K&N filter, i had misfiring or detonation (more likely det) at higher rev range with the turbo being boosted to 9psi. it was fine at 7 but hated 9. So I changed all the spark plugs and that helped alot, also. I heard that you need to gap your spark plugs to .6 or something like that to increase the spark for higher boost. im going to try that next along with a splitfire coil pack system from the group buys here next week. mind u today I have got my 3 inch dump pipe, hi flow cat and screamer pipe fitted, that might increase my back firing ill have to see when it happens, it back fires randomly at the moment after around 10 mins of drivin around when the exhaust gets hotter.

There must be some benefit though. I mean you pay ~800 (because I did conversion... dont make this an argument about conv rates its about vx-rom.) and you trade in your ECU for this one, it has to be something better than just be a Mine's part. Do you pay the amount just for a re-mapped ECU and a Mine's sticker on it? I sent another email to Mines to give me all the features about the ECU. They got back to me within 2 hours last time so well see. I got to say I'm a big fan of Mine's tuning, they do a fantastic job on their cars.

erm. what about going to some mechanic you know or use regularily and askin them to use a gun with appropriate socket piece to get it off?

stock as a rock, now with a few mods, previously dynoed @ boostworx 151.3kw, now probably 160 with everything ive fixed up and knocked her back into shape again. new exhaust with 600CFM hiflow next week, that should open her up a bit more.
