Hey guys looking for some advice, I have a Canon 7D and currently have a 18-200mm lens. I have some vouchers to use at Ted's cameras up to the value of ~$600. I was wondering what are some good lenses around that price? I am willing to put another $100-200 more towards it if this helps me get a better lens. I was thinking of the canon 50mm 1.4 USM, I wanted something with better quality and sharper images. I'm open to any ideas. Thanks

I'm looking at getting these for my GTR as well, does anyone know a good place (cheap) to get them? -
Looks good mate enjoy your ride! I've loved mine ever since I've owned it. take it on some nice twisty roads you'll appreciate it even more. Cheers.

I had my GTR read 243 rwkw on a hub dyno and also 290+ rwkw on a dyno dynamics, I have heard that hub dynos can read lower? I have the similar mods as you but with -5 turbos, stock engine internals (1.2 bar boost).

Hi Shane, decided to move to Geelong for work purposes. New job and career. Its going pretty well at the moment. As for the cruise, I don't think i'll be able to make it as i'll probably be in Sydney, would really love to go though. Plus my car, while its on the road i need to put all the mods back and get it tuned properly. Don't really like driving it around untuned at the moment, still got the -5 turbos with everything else standard so I would prefer to put the fuel system and PFC back in and have it running properly. Cheers.

Oil Filter Relocation Kit?
Bangaz Boy replied to Owens's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yeah pain in the ass removing my oil filter, had to pierce a screw driver through it and lever it off. got a replacement filter with a hex nut welded on the end (drift oil filer) hopefully that will make it easier next time... looking at a relocation kit though end all the problems. -
My R33 Gtr Daily / Build-up Thread
Bangaz Boy replied to UNR33L's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Hi Leigh, I really like what you've done so far very tasteful mods. I'm currently doing the same to mine, got the bc coilovers on order, and like u I also have to fix my front lip and instrument cluster really annoying having the rev meter bouncing all over the place. Where did u get the carbon fibre wing blade from, psi parts? And are they also the carbon fibre inserts that are from psi parts as well? Been thinking of getting these myself. Look forward to seeing ur future mods, nice work! -

Hey mate I'm interested, these still for sale? -
Car is looking awesome Pete, where abouts did you get your clear front indicators? I've looked at some Nismo ones but they seem to have a clear cover and an orange background i'm looking for completely clear like yours. CHeers.

As mentioned above the reefton spur is awersome and black spur, skenes creek road off the great ocean road, mt baw baw tourist road (off peak), great alpine road. Sometimes I just search on google maps for what seems to be a nice road and go check it out. Good way to see new places as well. There are some other nice roads around the alpine region but i cant remember them.

Nope, I have Nismo 555cc injectors and it makes the same noise. Although I have changed back to the standard injectors and I think they make a litttle more noise, but not by much.
-
Look I'm not 100% sure but I also have a 97 series 3, and it sounds very similar to mine. As far as I know all GTRs are known for having a loud ticking sound coming from the injectors, this is normal. Maybe someone who knows more than me might say different, but I'd say its nothing to worry about.

Anyone Know What Paint Code This Is?
Bangaz Boy replied to paulR32gtr's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
it is a R33 series 3 GTR, so it might be KR4 silver. -
Hey mate thanks for ur input, I'm hoping/praying it might be something like this and not head gasket or head. I only just got the EPA emissions test passed after having the car off the road for 5 months, had the car for 2 months before I was pinned with the EPA. Just couldn't wait to drive it and then having to deal with this issue, made my heart sink. The saying "u don't own a gtr it owns u" couldn't be more true.

Yeah I'm a bit suprised its popped, although its not 100% confirmed if its the head gasket or head or what, i'm just getting the usual signs. Chocolate milkshake colour to the coolant, slight loss of coolant and minor oil sheen on the surface on the coolant, no milky residue in the oil/head though and temps are and have always been stable. i'm just hoping for the best preparing for the worst. About 10,000 - 14,000 kms ago (I bought the car at 5,000 km after the work had been done and everything was fine), Power play imports (done with previous owner) took the engine out, pressure tested it, went all out and replaced all the gaskets, water pumps, oil pump, timing belt, 100,000km service all done with nismo, nissan or quality aftermarket parts as part of preventative maintenance for the mods they carried out (-5 turbos, HKS cam gears, NIsmo injectors, Nismo fuel pump, Power FC, Greddy EBC, pods, exhaust etc.). Bascially one of the main reasons I bought the car, as I thought I would be possibly avoiding an issue like this, I guess not. I don't drive the car hard, only give it a squirt here and there around some nice roads and 99% of the time it runs on low boost 0.8 bar (high boost 1.2 bar) with gear changes <5,000 rpm 95% of the time. Anyway I'm going to have to get it checked out and find out exactly whats going on, just wanted to know what I could be up for. Thanks for all the replies.

Cheers Liquid Ice, gives me an idea of what I can save if I was to do it myself with a few handy mates, I'm guessing some of the GTR parts might be a little more expensive so i'll have to factor that in. Just looked it up, approx $500+ for ARP 2000 Head bolts, RB25s are half the price. Cheers.

Awesome, thanks for that response, that really helps to see whats involved. Much appreciated.

Hey guys, looks like I may have a blown head gasket or worse case scenario a cracked block. I'm waiting on a few quotes from some workshops, but I was curious to see what I would be up for to replace the head gasket. What have some of you guys paid? I know its not a cheap fix but I would like to get an estimate at least. Thanks.

Thanks mate, I've got a canon 7D, with an 18-200mm lens, the lens is ok, bit of an all-rounder. Still trying to master it properly though, that and Photoshop.
