  1. Also, another method would be to try a graduated ND (Neutral Density) filter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graduated_neu..._density_filter
  2. Have you thought of doing a HDR (High Dynamic Range) image? As stated before you take 3 exposures or more of the same image (use a tripod!). One image suitable exposed and then another 2 images one under exposed and one over exposed (probably about -2 and +2). Two of the best ways is to use either AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) or to set the apature (and leave it the same for all the images) and select different shutter speeds. Also good to use a 2 sec timer for the shutter release so you don't shake the camera when you press the button. Then, post process the images in Photoshop. It overlays the 3 or more images and you adjust the settings the way you want. For photoshop CS2 go to File -> Automate -> Merge to HDR. Select the 3 photos that you have taken, it will automatically over lay the 3+ images and give you a slider bar to correct the overall exposure level to the way that suits you most. Just remember to use a tripod as any movements from the original will give a blurred effect. Best to do it with stationary objects. You can do it with one photo taken with RAW and then post process the exposure levels and save them (1 under exposed, 1 over exposed and one suitably exposed). I believe this should work for the photo / look that you want to achieve. There are heaps of tutorials on YouTube showing you how to do them through Photoshop and Photomatrix. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging I have attached 2 photos of a normal shot which is probably similar what your getting and then the same shot with HDR technique. There is also another photo of the 3 images and then the 4th is a HDR of the 3 differently exposed images. Hope this helps, and good luck!
  3. Hey mate can you PM with some details / specs / pics of the coil overs. Cheers.
  4. Hey mate i'm also interested in the coilovers, can you please give some info on the type and specs, or you can PM me with the details. Cheers.
  5. yeah mate that's where those photos were taken. It's an awesome run up to warburton, through the reefton spur, back through marysville and then through the black spur! The reefton spur is an awesome road most of the time there is little to no traffic, great scenery and awesome twisties! I advise people to try it if they haven't been. Cheers.
  6. Yeah i think my iphones camera is pretty crap with the white balance so thats why it looks yellow, but in person its very white. Starts off blue till it warms to a white. Definitely obvious when you put the high beams on and see how yellow they are in comparison. Cheers.
  7. I was looking a month or so back, and went with an R33 GTR. I love the look of all GTRs, but to me I wanted a later model, better interior and newer. I got a black 1997 R33 Series 3, with plenty of good mods, and lots of preventative maintenance work done, and in excellent condition all round for less than 30k. Probably comes down to your preference, I would love to have an R34 but my funds wouldn't allow for it. I suggest what ever you do try and find the best one you can for your budget, there are a few nice R32s & R33s with most of the wear and tear components replaced and tasteful mods done. Just take your time and look around. I am from Melbourne but I bought one from Sydney cuz there was nothing in Vic that suited what I was after. In my case I'm really happy I did. However, if you can afford an R34, and thats what you really want then I say go for it. Nothing worse than getting a car (or anything for that matter) only to think after you bought it you should have gone the other way. I'm really glad I didn't settle for a GT-T or GTS-T cuz i'd always be wanting the mighty GTR. As for R33s not looking tough, I also think that with a good set of rims 18"+ and good ride height + offset they can look the goods. See pics, (not mine, some lucky guy from UK, i think. I also have GTC rims, but mine is on stock suspension and looks way too high so i wont post that up! I did see a really nice Gunmetal grey R32 GTR today with 19" deep dish rims and perfect offset, man it did look really good, but as i said I love all GTRs! Anyway mate good luck with the search and which ever way you go make sure you post up your new ride! Cheers.
  8. Hey guys, here are some more photos I took this afternoon after a scrub and some other random ones i have taken since I've had it. Yeap its already got factory Xenons, thought some of you were suggesting to change the Xenons to a different colour. I'll definately leave it i'm happy with it as is, might consider changing the high beam but i'm not too fussed for now. Suspension and turbo back exhaust & Racepace retune are the main priorities for now Anyway, thanks everyone for all the positive feedback!
  9. Thanks guys for all you comments! Yes one of the first things I thought when I saw the car was it needs to be lowered. The stock suspension sits pretty high. Might source out some king springs for the moment till I get the some funds for the coil overs. Another mod I'm thinking to do would be to make the exhaust from turbo back. At the moment it's only cat back and the stock exhaust rattles a bit at low revs, gets kinda annoying plus performace might benefit a bit. I haven't seen how a 6000k hid package looks. Might have to do a search for some pics. There seemed to be a bit of interest with the car when it was up for sale, which is one of the reasons why I snapped it up soon after looking at it. Figured no point loosing the exact car I wanted by haggling over a grand or two. I'll post a few more pics up after I've cleaned it today. Cheers.
  10. Hey guys, thought i might post up my new car! Its a 1997 GTR V-spec. I've had it for just over a month now. Bought it off another forum member in Sydney. I've always loved skylines and wanted one for the last 10 years (a long long wait, been reading this forum/site since 2005). I originally looked at getting a R33 series 1 (many years ago), time passed then i thought a R33 S2, then i went overseas for 2 years came back and I thought R34 GT-T, so I started to look around and by accident I ended up test driving a R33 GTR. From then on I thought I have to get a GTR. It felt so much better in everyway. Power delivery, handling etc etc, and it felt special. So anyway I finally found exactly what i wanted, a R33 S3 GTR in black with all the mods i wanted to do. So it has 18 inch GTCs, Garrett -5s, Power FC, Nismo - injectors, fuel pump, oil pump, water pump, fuel pressure regulator and sport clutch, apexi pods, exhaust, Greddy Boost controller and plenty of preventative maintanence work done, got dyno'd at 290rwkw by the previous owner. I'll probably keep it this way for a while, maybe take it to Racepace and see what they think. I know the -5s turbos can be wound up more than what they are on atm (0.9 bar low & 1.2 bar high) but the bottom end is stock so that is maybe the next thing i'll do. For now i'm more than happy with it and very happy to be finally driving around in a skyline! Cheers. Oh yeah sorry about the pic quality, iphone is no DSLR.
  11. Hey guys, I've just bought some subs off my brother, he sold em cheap and they are fairly good. As follows: SUB = 2 x 12 inch Alpine type R AMP = 2 x Alpine V-power MRP-M350 class D I'll be putting them in my R33 GTR, I was thinking buying Alpine speakers and amp, to keep it the same, 6 inch with splits in the front and 6 inch 2 way in the rear with a 4 x 100 watt amp. Anyone have suggestions whether this will work well with the subs and what Alpine speaker / amp setup i should use? The car will be dynamat'd in the boots and doors and I'll install another parcel shelf probably 9mm mdf. If anyone thinks that there are other speakers / amps that are better quality for similar money or less please give your suggestions? Thanks.
  12. Could some one please fast this for me? Many Thanks. BCNR33041488
  13. Daniel, could you please (if its no hassle) place some more pics of the interior, eg. steering wheel, boot, and anything else that might be of interest and a pic of the side of the car (both sides if possible). If you don't have the time or CBF'd no probs i'm sure i'll see it in person anyway! Also do you have any idea of how legit the kms are? (service records etc), the interior looks fairly clean from the pics. Also when you got your car tuned did you specifically go for power or drivablitiy / safetune? Just curious what car do you think you'll be driving clients around in soon? Audi / BMW ? Personally you'd get my business if you took me around in a modded GTR !
  14. Daniel, thanks for sending your PM. Got your contact details, i'm able to catch up with you when I'm in Sydney, I'll make sure of it i'll give you a call on the Thursday (19th) and work out a time that suits us both. Well done on the promotion! Just got one myself thats why i'm looking at taking the step in to GTR territory, although I don't have to worry about clients myself, just mates and the girl friend (she loves GTR's ) Anyway mate have a good weekend!
  15. Hey Daniel, hope u got that promotion! Just wondering if u could pm ur contact details so I can contact u when I'm in Sydney next week. Cheers.
