  1. To those adding the extra litre of oil just curious as to wether u leave it in there after a track day (or are u refering to track only cars) or do u change oil straight away after track days an just run normal ammount or what , Just curious. Asked the mechanic who has been tuning my line and he looked at me like I was mad an said not to bother, maybe becaus it was my first track day and on street tyres so he figured Maximum G's were not gonna be a problem.
  2. Yeh have ABS and I can see that if u didnt there would be tonnes of room there. Have searched and there is lots of info about how to plumb it in etc so that definitly isnt a problem. Being as I am in Darwin Had planned originally to just run venting to atmosphere, no worrys about legalitys What I was wondering is whether anyone could comment on if the over the rocker type was as efficient as the normal can type, can it be plumbed open to atmosphere (maybe with a little filter type thingo mounted to firewall or something for track days etc.) and wether it has baffels as putting steel wool etc. in there is gonna be "fun" Thanks for the replys though guys
  3. OKay I know have searched cant find an answer so dont shoot me okay Just wanted to know if theres any real difference between these two styles of catch can (see attached) and which would be a better buy for a R32 GTR mostly street driven at the moment but did my first track day and wanna do more, lots a fun. Only have minor mods but running higher than stock boost (as car has since I brought it) and more mods definitly on the way. Dont really know where the hell I could fit a cusco style one but willing to try if they work better, Can the other type be fitted in the usual variety of ways or only as 100% plumb back? Any opinions appreciated. Any pics of where the hell u managed to shoehorn in a catch can on your GTR 32 also appreciated.
  4. please delete
  5. Previous ownre put an xtreme one in the r32 gtr and its hanging in there pretty good.
  6. Yeh "better to be looking at it than looking for it." No issues with the standard booster still feels nicely balanced?
  7. Thanks for the opinions my "other " comment should of read more like bump certainly no offense meant. Yeh tune was pretty good no real knock to speak of ever Ended up chucking some in and having a damn good time, street tyres on track is "interesting" no pinging overheating or any issues so happy as could be, maybe a little dehydrated though damn hot in helmet and long sleeves n pants in the tropics. Appreciate the help guys
  8. Had been considering one with a bonnet something like the one attached looks like the vent might be a little to far back though not an ideal solution but would do the trick I reckon very interested in any install pics in an bnr32 and/or experiences installing not good to hear they are an awkward fit in the 33 makes me wonder a little but still keen
  9. anyone !
  10. no other opinions
  11. Dont know if it really matters but I thought all wheel spacers were illegal on street cars. not really able to offer more than that but would probly go quality rather than price on such an item, wouldnt want the wheels to fall off.
  12. Interesting bud which particular kit did u get fronts only or front n rear disk size? How was it to fit brackets and lines with kit? Sorry so many questions pretty keen to get brake upgrade for my 32 maybe
  13. My Bad,Yeh sorry wrong terminology used by me, Packet for NOS stuff says 3 or 6 Full octane numbers, 30 or 60 points so numbers should still add up as stated earlier or damn close to anyway.
  14. like the look of the gizzmo tach recal +launch controller more myself even some autobarn's r selling em if you have a Haltech u probly wont want the tach recall functionality though dont haltech do a dash mount controller though wouldnt that be better
  15. Yeah good point about reseting it after too, Hadn't planned that far ahead yet.
  16. old thread I know have been considering one of these with the same sorta querys as to how to plumb air to it thinking that a bonnet vent is gunna allow water onto the top filter prob not a good thing ever end up with a solution?
  17. Taking the bnr32 out for its first track day tomorrow at hidden valley and wondering if its worth putting in some octane booster, car is running a remapped ecu (done in Japan as best we can tell by zeni tani) has been checked out by workshop here and all is good, new car and not sure if they had to retune or anything to allow for less octane in fuel . Only good available fuel available in town is BP Ultimate 98RON. Have used NOS brand octane booster before when travelling outside of town and forced to use PULP PULP 95 +street octane booster 3 = 98 (same as BP ultimate) no drama's with car at all. Given Jap fuel is 100RON (I believe anyway) and all I couldn't help but wonder if some octane booster even in BP ultimate might be worthwhile. Two options are street tune NOS stuff +3 octane numbers = 101 NOS race stuff +6 octane numbers = 104 if mixed with BP ultimate. Damn hot here in Darwin and anything to reduce possible knock is a good idea, Just wondering if anyone has any input? will of course reset CPU if using this blended fuel to allow ecu to advance timing happily.
  18. Pics would be good planned on getting a POWERPLAY type one (mounts over the rocker covers at the back of the engine bay) tryed to do a rush job for the trackday on the weekend will do it properly now though I think hadnt planned on using an extra tank as well interested in the logic behind that. Does the powerplay type have any baffles or no. Would really like to see pics if ya could.
  19. Dont know bout the legality's but a turbo motor converted to n/a will be a slug, and would probably be cheaper to remove the turbo motor intercooler etc. and replace the whole lot with a n/a motor rb30 maybe even, If you can do the work yourself even more so. And you would have an awesome project once you do put the turbo motor back in building up the rb30 to be your next motor! Just a thought.
  20. Just ordered an oil cooler relocation kit complete package through a tuner here in Darwin for slightly less (bugger all) so price is really pretty ballpark for this sort of thing from whoever if your getting a decent one. Just a thought. When you consider the results/safety benefits for your engine its pretty cheap insurance though
  21. Those drift ones from autobarn now come with an extra hole in the lid so u dont even need to drill and tap them would love to see a pic of one installed in a gtr coz I sure cant see where I can fit one. No room if u r running ABS ie stock if I could fit it reckon it would do the job though.
  22. Having a similar problem with mine can bridge the relay and compressor kicks in cold an lovely ran for an hour or so like this then poped the fuse. Checked out the compressor coil pin 5 on the relay in the manual drawing mentioned earlier measures 3.5 Ohms as per the manual (the 12.5 ohms ed is seeing would suggest the coil clutch to me). Looking at said drawing the only thing that can stop the signal from the ECCS control unit is the dual pressure switch. Was wondering if anyone knows if the dual pressure switch will stop the compressor switching on if pressure is to high or only if its to low. R134 gas has much higher head pressure than r12 (the original gas) and if its still the original switch this may be the problem or part of it.
  23. They do look damn hot but
  24. Draggin up an old post I know but am wondering if the dual pressure switch would prevent the aircon from switching on after having the gas updated to r134 (i think that is what it is) I have been told that r134 is a higher head pressure than the older r12 that the system was designed to run. Does the switch only work if the pressure is to low or will it switch/not switch if pressure is to high as well. Going to have a chat with the local aircon guy tomorrow so will post back any findings Just thought someone on here may be able to confirm my suspicions
  25. INSURANCE Right?!? I am 32 never had a claim on insurance in the past and rang shannons for a quote on insuring my new (new to me ) 32 GTR before I even get a chance to tell the guy my age or anything else he asks if I have owned a skyline before, after I say no he says unless I can prove a history of owning performance cars they would be unable to insure me. WHAT TH f*k was all I could think as the guy then hung up on me after saying some shit like ring us back after 12 months of ownership. Then they would probly knock back any calims coz a modified anything anyway. Insurance is a rip off. Buy an alarm and try not to wreck it what else can ya do.
