  1. Its a fun fun track!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. replacing the A/C pulley would not be a viable option as would require rebuilding the whole compressor cant see it being an option really It is not a bolt on like the water pump etc Have never seen a aftermarket kit that supplies this really doubt its possible
  3. Jealous!!
  4. Dont doubt that for a second pretty sure thats what pushed it over the edge though, Interested to hear you have had a few survive though gives me some hope Out of curiosity were they tracked cars or jus cruisers if I only had to take the belt of for trackdays I could live with that Damn Dirt had to google that to wasn't sure jus what u were offering, wikipedia tells all though Will pm ya once I have had a chance to talk to my engine builder Monday Not sure they could change the A/C pulley being it is the main one carrying the weight will chat to em monday though regardless appreciate the imput guys thanx
  5. Have wired mine back to the way its sposed to be an can now confirm it is driven by the temp. switch Still have no A/c at this point so can only assume, an look at the wiring diagram, the A/C has nothing to do with the overheat fan!
  6. alot of aircon places will assume the fan comes on with the A/C an wire it as such, they are wrong an generally dont like to hear it!!! Yeah am assuming at this point my only option is to use a switch to earth, however I believe the A/c is sposed to turn off ie. release the clutch at a certain rev's I may be wrong here I know the A/C can change the angle of the clutch plate engagement to reduce load, the manual tells you as much, but can anyone confirm that it will actually drop the clutch out completely???? Plan at this point is to chat to the local distributor of the A/C compressor an see if they can let me know what rev's the compressor is rated to, I can then switch it at this point if required.
  7. Slightly old post I know but for all running A/c with the 1000hp design beware While running on the highway today my idler pulley failed taking out both the A/C belt an power steering belt and nearly the waterpump/alternator belt as well I can not confirm 100% this was because of my 1000hp damper but it is at this point the prime suspect I had was certain I had ordered the lower spec 500hp upon checking ATI's site I realised I had in fact been supplied with a 1000hp version A/c was not on at the time an I had just done some 3rd gear runs to resonably high revs and was slowing right up when it let go 80 or so in 4th as the idea of the trip was to help with running the car in so no constant revs etc. if you look at the size of the idler pulley ie much much smaller than the drive pulley on the crank even stock let alone 25% overdriven it must do some fairly obscene rev's
  8. Returned wiring on my overheat fan to stock they had completely removed the original earth and had the relay earth for the ac looped to both, fan now comes on at 90 degrees on the PFC so happy there Still cant get the PFC to earth the AC relay though Probly burnt out the transistor trying to pull both relays down at once, NOT HAPPY
  9. From all accounts the relays are the same as patrol from the same vintage much cheaper than the $60 Nissan wanted
  10. Mine Has now been regassed correctly and by bridging the switch at the relay pins 3 & 5 the clutch kicks in otherwise it wont, DAMN. pin 9 at the ECU has 12v with ignition on drops to 11v if ya turn the A/C on assume thats the one you r referring to above??? The manual says to earth pin 46 an it should bring in the clutch if it doesnt its the ecu Also noticed today the overheat fan isnt kicking in either, previously (before I owned the car) the A/C guys bridged the earth and power pins at the relay to bring the fan on with the A/C cant see how that would stop it working now though. Am considering a manual switch at the dash to pull the clutch in and another for the overheat fan Dodgy I know but it would work Mine is a Powerfc not a nissan ecu but appears to be the same problem ecu isnt pulling the clutch relay (and I suspect the overheat fan relay) down to earth to power them on just curious, is your ecu mounted to the chassis or loose behind the kick panel?????? Dont know if that would help Might give it a go in the morning.
  11. Thought that the fan was triggered solely by the temp switch in the radiator, cubes as a diy to put a diode in to trigger it with the a/c
  12. Dont know about the rest of Oz but up here in Darwin at one stage they did put pics of all drink drivers fined in the courts in the paper daily kinda name n shame stuff Doubt it made any difference though
  13. Did you ever sell these??? would you be keen to send to Darwin? Mostly just keen on covers but may take the lot depending let me know
  14. Thanks PM-R33 good to hear an actual value and only post 18 LOL Did get some good advise above though
  15. Yeah adjustable but still at this point set at zero ie. stock
  16. wont be vacuumed if is full will it????? And does anyone actually know the correct pressure amount for a charge in these systems??
  17. 500kms down no drama's yet will post back if I ever have any drama did tap it in though so was tightish will see I spose
  18. No definitive solution yet unfortunately waiting on a mate to get back into town to try hooking his air compressor up to the balance pipe an pressurize the intake side hoping that might make it more obvious
  19. Cant stand em meself look horrible an cheap I reckon Have never found any aftermarket lights even D-Speed clear indicators that fit as good as stock sure you could just change the lamps in stockers to led would be brighter etc.
  20. I didnt no but if the part was brand new unfitted freeze first then locktite FTW you will only have to do it once that way not lotsa times trying everything else like I did
  21. Spoke to an aircon guy yesterday who reckons alot of people mistakingly over pressure these systems doubt that would stop the comp kicking in though Just lotsa drag once its running
  22. Wouldnt be running minimum fuel without a surge tank though And if ya drag the car cage allows ya to run better times without getting kicked out but then ya gotta get it log booked an such too
  23. Your not letting the pedal up with the nipple cracked are ya?
  24. Okay like most I have armorall lying around from gifts etc Use it to detail the tyres mostly My doorhandles and glovebox handle thingo are nearly white Most people say armorall is the devils work etc. My older revhed mates all say hit the handles repeatedly with the armorall will eventually make em look the correct color what is everyone using my handles look bad rest of the interior is pretty resonable other than the remnants on my dash of the black silicon previous owner used to attach the boost gauge that will be the next mission I guess Any suggestions????????????????
  25. Sounds very similar to what my 32gtr was doing, then I blew the motor Am now back on the road and got the system regassed this morning and both fill point lines froze up almost immediatly got about half a charge in there they reckon DAMN will let u know how I go over the next coupla days mine used to be like yours almost to the letter could bridge the relay and worked well but wouldnt pull the clutch in any other way guy who filled it mumbled something bout the tx valve but openly admitted he just tops em up an isnt a fridgy will be seeing another supposed expert Monday
