Hi T.K, this noise is your car doing an ABS test. It should sound almost like a robotic whirring, or like someone pressing the trigger of a drill for 1/2 a second. I hope you enjoy your car.

Hi Mate, There isn't really anything out there as far as aftermarket tail lights. The "GTR copy" ones you are talking about is just a carbon fibre or plastic overlay that attaches to the factory ones. Some are even just a dark tint with holes in them. I have seen carbon ones us ebay before, but they are expensive. When shopping online, make sure you search for G35 rather than V35, as they are a popular car in the States and there are tonnes of aftermarket parts for them (albeit with expensive shipping).

Jzx110 Vs V35 Coupe 0-100 Km... Who Wins?
camr33 replied to a topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I have an old Wheels mag floating around somewhere (circa 2007), where they test drove one in a "bang for your buck" article. The stock auto ran a respectable 14.4 in a 98/99 chaser. I'll have a look for it tonight- I dont usually buy Wheels, but it had a decent R35 GTR article I wanted to read. If the articles I've seen on G35 driver are anything to go by, a stock auto V35 coupe will run a 14.6 in full auto, and low 14's in tiptronic and a small brake stall at launch. -
I had the same issue recently with my V35. Turns out it was my rear sway bar end links.

Mechanical Stig's C34 Stagea
camr33 replied to mechanicalstig's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The VQ35 is an underrated engine. People didnt take to it for tuning the same way they did with an RB engine despite the fact that it actually lends itself to forced induction well. People using the HKS twin turbo kits are pushing around 400-450 rwhp on only 7psi of boost . The V series skyline was also used to test engine/drivetrain configurations during R&D for the R35 GTR. Ben did also say he wanted a nissan derived engine too, but that V8 was a good choice too -
Are V35's Popular In The Japanese Car Scene?
camr33 replied to s13-steve's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Expand your search to include 350z's, which share the same engine and chassis, and you'll find there's plenty out there. -
How Much Effort To Fit 370z Rims To V35 Coupe?
camr33 replied to camr33's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Interesting, have been told they are 19x9.5 F/19x10.5 R but no mention of them being Nismo ones. If they are, then bonus! And to be fair, if they don't fit, I know I could get a lot more for them than what I'm paying -
Hey guys, I have been offered a set of Rays Forged 370z rims and tyres for very cheap. I have been trying to see if they will fit on my 03 V35 coupe. I have checked the G35 forums, and there seems to be conflicting information about what needs to be done. Some state that the wheels will fit fine on the G35 coupe (but the sedans need their guards rolled etc), others that they will stick out or need work done to fit. Has anyone tried this? I think the issue is that the rears are 19x10.5. When I was looking into buying aftermarket rims, I was advised that 20x10.5 should fit through Bob Jane and Ian Diffen, as well as chronic customs in WA (they said the wheels would fit a Ford, therefore should fit a Skyline). Is anyone able to confirm any of this? The wheels are simply too cheap to pass up! Cheers, Cam

I test drove a car with this very setup, also had a stillen CAI. Honestly, I did not notice any difference with this set up or the stock one. To be fair though, it's hard to put a car through its paces with the dealer sitting next to you. I didn't buy it as it had the check airbag light on the dash, and by the time I found out it was an easy fix, the car had gone. It sure sounded nice though...

If you go all the way back to the early days of the v35 section, there is a thread where someone in a GT8 could only manage a 15.1 quarter mile. Considering stock V35 coups are running low 14's, and V36's are running high 13's, you would be outclassed. There is no way in hell a GT8 with a bolt on exhaust would beat these cars. And the post above is right. It's not a smart move to post details for a prospective street race on a public forum. And even worse if you would even go through with it.

This thread has made for an interesting read lol. I looked at a GT8 about 4 years ago when I was shopping for a new car at the time. In hind sight, I'm glad I didn't buy it as if something went wrong with it, I would have needed a new wife as well as a new car! Don't know about your GT8 beating a 370GT though, rolling start or not. Not unless you had a LOT of work done to it...

It was recommended to me to avoid K&N filters, something to do with the oil in them? I use a HKS panel filter which cost about the same anyway, and gives it a nice growl.
-
Haha I actually use a hks filter in the standard box. Apart from a different exhaust note, I'd be buggered if I can tell the difference! My point is that if all OEM stuff was perfect, there would be no need for aftermarket parts at all.
-
Wow ? now I understand the whole debate about whether they are worthwhile! I'll put it like this: The factory airbox works fine. But if you put a stillen CAI on there, nobody would question you decision. Just because the stock ground works, it doesn't mean there aren't better options out there. I swear by mine, but it's crystal clear there are people that think otherwise. I was going to buy a v36 sedan, and I noticed a lot of lag in the paddle shift, so I can understand the logic of why you are interested in the kit. Do it mate, and let me know if you are with me, or if you think I should eat my words!

My earthing kit is a genuine nissan one. I'm presuming they don't do it as standard so they can get a few extra bucks out of you at the time of purchase. The car works fine without them, so I presume it would have been a cost cutting measure. Nissan was not in a good financial position in the late 90's/early 2000's.

You may be better off searching for one from Japan. A compliance workshop may be able to source one for you, as they will likely have people in japan available to source parts.
-
It actually came on the car from japan. I test drove close to a dozen cars, before settling on one directly from an importer. I drove a few modified ones, but most were stock. Aside from some coilovers, mine is stock as well. That's how I can tell how much of a difference they make.
-
I have one on my V35 coupe. They are awesome and definitely worth it. It helps with shifting and throttle response. Anyone who says otherwise has either not tried one, or can't tell night from day.
-
Isn't that what Hyundai Getz and Daewoo Matiz's have to contend with every day?
-
Mine does the same. At first I though my fuel sensor was faulty as id didnt start to drop until I had done 50-60kms. Just out of curiosity, has anyone with an auto coupe worked out the fuel consumption if they only drove with the little switch near the shifter set to snow or power? I think it would be interesting to see if snow saves you fuel, or if its just a rumour...

I thought the seats would actually weigh a bit less than they did. Still look cool though!
