R33 Reverse Lights Not Working
Timeb0mb replied to Timeb0mb's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
so is the plug on my auto harnise the same as the one on the manual? shouldnt my mach have just pluged it in? he was the one who told me about it if not can i just get a manual plug and wire that on to the auto plug? -
1st thing you need to do is post i pic of it then you could probly look into getting it tattooed over with your name or something.

Hi, iv just got my car back from being converted to manual and my reverse lights dont work. when i got it changed i had a manual ECU put in and a manual gauge cluster. iv read i need a cable from the gearbox to either the fuse box or wired into the engine loom. my question is with the manual ECU what do i actually need to do to get this fixed? and if anybody has pics of the cable/plug i would be very greatful thank you
-
hi, got the car back on saturday, alot later then i expected, but thats always the case with machanics now running standard R33 GTST manual box with Auto diff i didnt get to test a large rev range as i didnt drive on the motor way over the weekend however i did get the chance to do: 40kmh at 1000rpm and 80kmh at 2000rpm id like to test 3000rpm but it does look like it will be 120kmh agreed the theory was a bit far fetched so mayby someone replaced the manual diff with an auto for high speeds
-
Hi iv just had my auto converted to manual however i need another boot/seal that bolts onto the holes marked, the one that stops me from seeing the road =P im also after the manual reverse light cable, im told it plugs into the box and tells the computer to put on the reverse lights when its in reverse thank you
-
you know you addicted to r33's when you recognized the left pic as one before reading the post =P those are some crasy hits man... i once saw a Camry with a hat, a blanket and a box of tissues on the back parcel shelf... i had to pull over and wait for it to get out of sight...
-
hells yeah, hope he went and got himself a lotto ticket lucky there was no passenger either, that would have been messy
-
Hi Anybody seen this crazy crash yet? the driver walked away... Clicky
-
hey fig i notice your from campbelltown. iv had my keys copied by the locksmiths down near minto station and it works fine, had it done with two S1 R33's and yeah they work fine
-
hi mate, i had the same problem with an older car i had, the friction point slowly moves closer and closer to the floor. turned out to be my slave cylinder had a hole in the seal and wasnt holding enough pressure for the clutch to disengage. had to rebuild the slave cylinder only cost about 30$ for the kit, and took about an hr from bonnet up to bonnet down however it could also be the master cylinder, or even the mechanic just didnt bleed in the clutch proply when he put it in.

as metioned earlier i was doing 180 at 5000 when speed limiter kicked in, unless you have changed the gearbox and/or diff in your car you shouldnt be doing more then 180 at 5000 perhaps the previous own converted the car from auto to manual and left the auto diff in it, that would explain the higher speeds i am curently in the middle of converting mine to manual with the auto diff, i will be able to check these speeds with this set up when is finished at the end of the week unless someone who has tried this can support this idea?
-
you make a good point, however im assuming this topic is theoretical and in the name of sience and plan old interest in the 'what if' style
-
yeah thats sounds about right, it doesnt bounce or anything like that it just cuts off at 5000rpm or in your case 6000rpm in 4th i was on the motor way so didnt really hammer 4th all the way thru
-
in that case yes more power would do the trick, However standard jap computers are electronicly speed limeted to 180... i belive this to be the case in all jap delivered nissans as my mates 180sx and another mates S14 is the same unless you have an upgraded ECU i didnt think it was possible to get around it??? unless you have changed the gear box and that is some how changing the speed the ECU thinks you are doing??? i know when i did it (i have since grown out of this sort of behaviour) the speedo read past 180 probly more like 190 but the revs topped out at 5000rpm more then likely inaccuracy of the speedo as such high speeds
-
As far as i know unless you change your gear/Diff ratios you could have 1000kw and your top speed will be the same as standard, youll just get there quiker also if your running standard computer youll be speed limeted to 180kmh when i *tested* this speed limeting, it stoped at 5000rpm and was doing about 20km per 1000rpm (if that makes sense) my guestimate put top speed at about 220km at 7000rpm
