  1. Mate some people when they do a major service they change the timing belt, timing belt tensioner, water pump all drive belts and have a good look at all the oil seals while the front of the engine is pulled apart easy to do it all at once.Bit more money but worth it I think I beleive do it once do it right. As for what oil something like a 10w 40w Motul or Mobil full synthetic should be fine Spark plugs use platnum NGK they work fine in mine but I capped them down to 0.8 instead of 1.0 Hope this is of some help
  2. You can use a auto computer behind a manual box. I've driven a car like this felt funny between gear changes and had a lot less power. You have to remember that they have been programed to suit either a manual or auto for that reason, best to stick with a manual ecu for a manual car
  3. Mate as everyone else said they can cost a LOT of money to fix even if you fix it your self.I looked for months and must of looked at 40 plus cars and man it is hard to find a good one I give up in the end and settled on a GTS.You have to remenber most of the speedos have been wound back and there been thrashed I find this funny as you see 2000 model cars with the same kms on them. They are good cars if they are kept in near std spec or the hotted up ones must be put together with care, there are a lot of shit mechanics out there .But at there age yes a lot of them need rebuilds you have to remember that they are a high performance car.If you cant afford the huge repair bills dont buy one.I think that a R33 GTR would be a better option a little newer and dont cost much more.At the end of the day you want to drive and enjoy the car not be fixing it or be waiting for your next pay check so you can fix it.
  4. No they are not the GTR are different because they are 4WD the bushes should be the same.
  5. As mentioned above make sure the pads a chamfered if not already It could be just the pad material the new pads now have a lot more metal in them because they cant use asbestos anymore so they sweak a little. As you said you apply the brakes a little and it goes away and I've noticed that once they heat up the sweak goes away.Or it could be the brake dust is why its sweaks I wouldn't worry to much if it was me they may just need a little more bedding in
  6. Hi everyone I thought that I would give some feed back to assist anyone who may be thinking of buying something of this group buy.I got some adjustable sway bars and camber kits from sydneykid and they have been great with just this mod alone I have shaved off 3 seconds on my lap times around wakefield park
  7. Mate just rebuild it to STD specs with a metal head gasket should be fine.A little tip if you do rebuild it put the water pump in a bucket of water while you are doing your rebuild this is to insure the seal doesn't dry out and leak once you start the motor up after a period of time.
  8. I looked into doing a cheap up grade the same idea as you have but in the end I ended up going for whiteline adj items which I highly recommend, with this mod I dropped 3 seconds of my lap times check out the group buy section they are fairly cheap up grade.
  9. Hey mate disc is 30mm from new and min thickness is 28mm the pads normally have wear indicaters I normally change mine a little before they hit the indicaters. As for run out if the brakes shudder under braking time to machine. Some people machine the discs everytime they replace the pads. Hope this is of any help
  10. Mate not to sure they are for sale on the forum and I thought that I would do some research first before I go and have a look.I thought they might off rebadged them to nismo as bilsteins were a factory option on some nissans
  11. Moderators please delete cheers
  12. Mate I'd say that you would need to upgrade the mastercylinder, yes maybe a GTR item because you have a lot more pistons to push, would need a master cylinder that can push a lot more fluid. Maybe have a quick look at your master cylinder then have a look at GTR item and see how much size difference there is,from memory there should be the size stamped on the side somewhere
  13. I wouldn't recommend it as the shock valving has been matched to the spring rate, they are normally tuned together as a unit. But hey you can try anyway you may be happy with the result.
  14. R32 GTR rear sway bar will fit a GTS, the fronts are not interchangable because the GTR is 4WD and GTS isn't.I think the rear GTS sway bar is 16mm and the GTR is 25mm it is a worthy budget upgrade.(Thicker rear sway bar less understeer) I looked into this not that long ago and I ended up buying whiteline adjustable sway bars front and rear from sydneykids group buy.I highly recommend this as I improved on my lap time by 3 seconds a lap through just this mod.The car feels very stable and flat and firm but not over the top, honestly spend the money and you won't look back.
  15. That's one thing I can't wait to see people fitting Tomei 2.8 strocker kit's in there RB25.Wonder how long before that is the new trend???
  16. Hey mate I've read in a car mag that a Z32 300ZX rear cradle will fit a R33 maybe another option.
  17. Best way is to take it to a mechanic and get it preasure tested.Once preasure is applied it will be easy to spot the coolant flowing out
  18. Hi guys just wait and see what happens he is on holiday or other commitments.I'm sure he will get back to you when he gets a chance.I had dealings with him before and found him to be a great help he even delivered the parts to me in person.
  19. Hi mate one of my friends has a front set fitted to his R32 GTR and they work very well I had a chance to test drive the car my self. I'd have no worries with reccomending a set to anyone Cheers
