I'll be in for one of those days. Probably the 23rd. Not sure which one, but i'll have to give it a go before they turn it into houses et-al.

I'm looking for a R32 GTR airbox. I'm looking to test some airflow mods on the box, and don't want to kill my one if the cut-n-tuck mods dont work. I'm in sydney.

Well another track day done a dusted. As far as i'm aware, everyone who drove there drove home (Adam did you get home ok?). Although not without some hickups. On the first lap of my first session, my intercooler pipe popped off and i just rolled down the main strait and came to a halt in between turn 1 and 2. Anyway, i got a tow back to the pits, took the front bar off, refitted the intercooler pipe and i was up and running again in 20mins. It was more of a pain in the butt then anything. I took the intercooler out on the weekend to fit a power steering cooler. I must have left one of the pipe clamps loose. But after that little hickup, the day was smooth, albeit quite warm. 33 ambient in the pits, hotter on the track. My intake temps were at 65degs whilst on track in the last session of the day. A larger radiator, power steering cooler and oil cooler kept the hot elements at bay, and apart from a power hit due to the hotter day, i ran all day and the 20min session felt like 5mins. I didn't beat my lap previous lap time. I threw everything at it though. Could be due to the temps? Could be my last track before my new engine arrives, although I might squeeze out an OP track day in late Dec/early Jan. andrew

Ok, i found all the info i need to know right now on the UK GTR forums. Looks like a few of them have them installed.

Thanks for the update. I recently picked up a Nur engine in japan. It should be in Aus early next year.

I've read a few threads from a year ago about people asking about the HKS V-cam. But considering it was relatively new, there wasn't much info on people actually using them. Now it's been out on the market for a while know, have people been able to see valuable improvements on the road from such a setup? And do you need to run a HKS ECU? Can you use it with a powerFC? Anyone in Aus actually using one in SAU? padey

Cool. SAU fight club gets it's first challengers. I'm up for some knuckels, i can be there in 20mins if you're going!

Hey now don't get me wrong, I'd love to go back to uni. Three months off over summer, heaps of chicks around, although most the time I was broke.... But these days the mrs, kids, mortgage... et al, wouldn't be too pleased. The legislation regarding right of entry is not 'black and white'. You may like to think it is, but it's not. Saying it is 'black and white', cut and pasting it on a forum, doesn't change the reality that there are shades of interpretation that get tested through due legal process everyday. That's why people get off from seemingly 'open and shut' cases. I remember reading about a case when a guy had his speeding penalty reduced because he successfully put to the judge that his Bentley was designed to cruise on german autobahns at a higher speed, and thus should have his fine reduced because he wasn't driving dangerously or potentially risking other peoples lives. I can't remember who it was, but it was a high profile person and it kicked up a public stink. And I can understand why. (BTW any skyline owner attempting to try that defense for speeding, your on your own, don't call me )

I prefer qualified comment. So when you've completed your law degree, then come and give me legal advice. Actually, i don't need your advice, i've got my own degree.

Yes and no. They can only make you open the bonnet on the spot in suspicion of hiding drugs in your engine bay. So what you do is, walk to the front of the police hwy patrol car where the conversation is video recorded and make mention of the fact that you were pulled over for an RBT, and not regarding a suspicion of drugs. That you are happy for the officers to search your car, but are not willing to open the bonnet because you suspect that the officer is only using the RBT as an entry to defect your car. You would rather be taken to the police station, have your car towed home and face an epa inspection. Now why would you do that? Because an EPA inspection buys you some time to fix your car. Look guys, i know you have been brought up as kids to think the police have all this power. Put simply they only enforce the law from their interpretation. You have the right to challenge their interpretation. for example, when cousins got pulled over, he didn't give a breath test or complete a drug test back at the station. Just act in a civil way, but don't get pushed around.

Did you ever get to do this on your skyline? Just curious, because i'd like to get hot air out of my engine bay too, and wondered what affect it had on the aero.

Thread resurrection ! So are you still weighing this up? Or did you go local rebuild? I like the sound of a new engine, and selling your working engine and with that cash buying some performance bit. padey

Tomei Sump Baffles To Suit Rb26

i'll take it. check your PM -
Police will wreck you if; 1) If you fail the attitude test 2) if you are obviously in the wrong place at the wrong time, illegal drags, driving like a tool..... 3) Have obvious illegal mods. Ride height, loud exhaust, P-platers with ghey neon's under their car, sound systems rivaling jumbo jets. These are all obvious signs that say, pull me over, bend me over and wreck me. 4) Did i mention fail the attitude test!!!! A clear sign you've failed the test is calling police, dicks. BTW you are not obliged to open your bonnet if you know you are clearly supporting illegal modifications like most show cars, unless the police suspect you of hiding drugs. For example if i owned a full-sick-subwoffer-drifting-hecktic-Rbaby-gangster show car, and the police HWY patrol pulled me over as i was leaving Autosalon for an RBT i wouldn't open my bonnet. But you have to be prepared to be taken down to the station and time in a holding cell. Most cops don't want to go through the pain of taking you down to the station, but some will. From memory if you do that you get some time before your car has to pass EPA. ie EPA always have a backlog.

Granville Tuner Matter Resolved. Thanks For All Your Support
padey replied to Dominic's topic in New South Wales
hahah yeah right. NSW legal system for dummies; Civil court 'can' have juries, made up of 4 jurors, but this is rare. So unless the judge is surfing SAU, and you are giving information that has not already been submitted pertinent to your case, which i doubt you would do, then you won't be pre-empting legal process. But on the area of defamation, that is a separate issue. So if you said, 'i went to 'V8s rule Workshop' and my car blew-up on the dyno, and are taking them to court over a concern regarding potential malicious treatment', that would be fine legally for a couple reasons because you are stating what have become public civil court records, you are stating what has happened/happening and importantly you are not making a preemptive decision on the outcome. But because it's not forum rules, and i know if I was the workshop and had potentially killed your engine, i wouldn't be very happy with the kangaroo court that these things turn into on forums. -
You can save $25 if you say you're with a group. If anyone is interested, group name is 'cato'.

I bought a kit several months ago and thought I write back here with a bit of a review/update. I ordered the suspension kit around April, the standard kit with Eibach springs and Bilstein coil over conversion. I had the kit fitted in a day by eastcoast suspension. I can highly recommend them. My initial response to driving the car home from eastcoast was one of total amazement. I just couldn’t believe how smooth it was. No more smashing my back over speed humps.... I even chose to drive up Parramatta road and it felt like the road has been resurfaced. Amazing. So on the road, my GTR was perfect. But what about the track? Well I got the Eibach springs coil over kit so I could play with the spring rates for different tracks. My first outing at eastern creek saw me drop three seconds off my previous best time, with no other changes to the car. The car felt a whole lot better. But I wanted to squeeze a bit more out of her, and so I put some stiffer Eibach springs in to make her hold a bit better and made some minor adjustment to the front and rear toe and camber to suit EC and instantly dropped a couple more seconds. I believe I would have dropped more time because my front right tyre had a slow leak which I worked out was dropping about 5psi every 8-10 laps. By the time I worked it out what was going on with it, the track day was over. 1:58 old suspension. 1:55 new suspension. 1:53 changed springs and minor adjustment. Once home, took the stiff springs out and put the standard ones in. good as gold! Sk, I owe you a case. PM me your work address and a case of Coronas is on the way!

So who has booked in? I'm in and a few of my mates are running to.

The 14th is a twilight session and the full day is the 4th of December. $275 for the full day. It's a bit more then a L2S day, but i hate the 4hours of driving to Wakefield Park. and EC is soooo much better to drive. I'll be there on the 4th. No i wasn't anywhere near the airport on saturday. Although I did tjandriesen driving past around mosman on Saturday.

I'm keen for a Creek run in December.

Thanks for the info. Sh@un = Brad, what is the Tomei kit worth? padey

Does anyone know the difference between the stage 1,2 and 3 2.8L HKS kits, apart from the potential power outputs. I'm not up to speed on my Japanese... cheers, Padey

Good day, heaps slippery. Having a couple of mm toe out at the front and a couple toe in at the back was not optimal in the wet on road rubber. But it was still a fun day out, and say hi to the Vic guys. Those guys have some fast cars.
