  1. Hey peoples. Hoping to get some handy info here. I am very close to purchasing a gt3040 (as my stock job let go up the mountain last weekend) and have heard from a couple of people that the internally gated version has some boost control issues caused by the wastegate being too small. Now I have read a few people here have this turbo. Do any of you have the internal gate version, and if so, is compressor surge an issue? I would prefer to avoid the expense of going external gate, as it is hard to find a low mount external gate setup. cheers for any info here guys
  2. well it was a good cruise on a fine day until that big puff of black smoke and sudden loss of power kicked in. If anyone finds any pieces if the exhaust wheel of my turbo, let me know :laughing-smiley-014: those of you who left to go to the coast when I did would have seen the large amounts of blue smoke as I nursed my car home. now I have a great reason for a bigger huffer
  3. count me in as an 80% chance late entry
  4. thanks to JustDave
  5. yeh thats pretty good man. I have exhaust,pod,cooler and @ 12psi has 187rwkw.
  6. hey bud, where u located?
  7. those guys deal on EBAY I believe. maybe they can help you locate them. bloody clowns
  8. glad you git back Amy. didnt even realise this was your car when the thread was first posted. good to see it back on the streets
  9. hope it turns up in salvable condition. bloody scum bags
  10. hahaha, i got owned. i know they are a good ecu, and one of the best for a skyline. That wasnt my point. I edited that post seeing as it came off not the way it was intended. Hope that guy sells it. done with it.
  11. here is my contribution to whore town. dont know if my opinion is already here, as im not going through 2200 pages. why is it that here, on a skyline specific forum, of whome the members are mostly skyline owners, do some people try to flog off Power Fc's for rediculous prices. If I had a new or used Power FC, I would sell a used one for less than I paid, or a new one for what I paid, as this would be the decent thing to do, seeing as this is where skyline enthusiasts gather. I'm not going to pay over $1500 for a power fc, when a microtech lt12s can be purchased with a plug in loom and base map for $1495. seeing as power fc's are no longer made, why pay big $$$ for them when the chance of getting support from apexi for faults etc will be dwindling. if you want to sell a used or new power fc for a rediculous price, i think it should be done a another website where fellow skyline enthusiasts dont need to be taken advantage off. anyway, thats my 2 cents. cheers to the member who directed me to use this forum topic
  12. wasnt trying to ruin your sale at all, sorry if it seemed like that. i did say $1700 was a good price.
  13. its good because its not $1900, edited for decentsy
  14. these turbos are really good upgrade for rb25. might have to grab this if i can get the cash
  15. hahahaha. lucky you own one.
  16. sounds like they are off an R33, as he is after a dump pipe for an r33 turbo
  17. Dude, I am havin the same dilemma myself. been hunting for A PFC for so long, and when ya find someone who has one, they want like $1800+. I have almost decided to go with a Microtec LT12s, ECU+controller+harness, $1850, and i'm sure it would be a damn fine system with plenty of support.
  18. [quote do u know the power rating??? Garrett website states that the 3571 was a journal bearing turbo, with similar housing set up and suitable for engines making upto 390HP. I would guess this 3576 is prob maybe around 450HP with the ball bearing. just a guess though. Seller would have to confirm this though
  19. Hey everyone Would really appreciate any help trying to get my hands on one of these babies. Have been looking high and low, and reading post's too late and missing out Does anyone know anyone, or any business that has any left????? Thanks heaps for any input guys. I'm in Brisbane, but anywhere in OZ is fine.
  20. My current mods to achieve the neck snapping 178 rwkw we saw on saturday are as follows. good pipes from turbo back apexi pod filter apexi lightened flywheel ceramic 5 puck clutch largish fmic safc2 piggy back For those with similar specs on a rb25 engine. What power figures have you attained, What does your torque curve look like. Hey buddy I made 187rwkw on that dyno on saturday with just exhaust, cooler and pod, running 12psi. so your not far off the mark so far, SAFC2 aside.
