  1. All the best. Shame bad things seem to happen to the good people
  2. This bitch calls your bluff. Sorry to say but not it does not...for me OK [ media] or [ video] tags work as long as you use (1) long option and (2) remove the HD option. Without the tags http://www.youtube.c...h?v=H07c0msD-kU Not so useful
  3. This is what happens I give up, if people are interested they can click on a link
  4. Nothing works for me
  5. R31 spin Corrective action taken to avoid a spin ] F...k it I have no idea how this forum links video's, it's really giving me the shits. Anyone want to PM me the text to get these video's embedded correctly. I'm going to bed.
  6. Located in Canberra here, but I found with the extra boost and a tune over the standard they came on about the same time just harder. Without knowing what you are doing with the car it's hard to say what they will do. Without any mods I would guess they would be laggy, with supporting mods as responsive as standard, with a stroker sky's the limit.
  7. Seems quite reasonable car for the price. GL with it. Any dyno pics or interior pics?
  8. Great moment. Your cam makes you look very fast around the track. If you're interested in getting better times, maybe consider a pro training day. Certainly has helped me.
  9. Likely to attend, still negotiating a leave pass for theday.
  10. Maybe consideration of who brings these things up and then does not turn up? Plenty of big talkers in any car club, and skylines are not especially reliable. I wondered why the club started this event aiming to lose money (mentioned in the first thread), certainly not expected to the extent that occured this time. For the regular SAU track guys, $30 extra entry costs (say $200) doesn't make that big of a difference. Also having up to 60 cars is easily accomodated as cars start breaking at half day. They day doesn't even stop for a lunch break so I'm happy for 5 or 6 sessions at the start of the day. Even opening a 1/2 day option for those who want to drive down on the day and just do the later sessions. Mixing it up with other car clubs is always a good idea for extra numbers, though the NSCC guys make me look slow.
  11. And there is certainly a reason to upgrade.
  12. Agree, you need to spend money on good PADS if you already have brembo's for most people, (R32 GTR non brembo calipers are rubbish). However for me at around 310kw, proper semi-slicks and more corner speed then I should have at times, I am right on the limit of the brakes with a full weight car doing sub 1.10's. I have trouble locking the tyres and the braking is not progressive. Also looking at the very fast guys they all have the kit or have race cars. So I made the decission to order a AP brake kit, at substantially less then $8K. It probably won't speed me up, but might get me more confidence and added saftey. So in summary, anyone that has GTR brembo's in a full weight car should be fine using good pads up to and below 1.10's, but at that stage you might want to consider how your braking is working. Or you can just buy the AP kit for the look and knowledge it is cool .
  13. Mite difference in vehicle weights there. EBC yellows worked fine on the track for me, however on very cold days they just had no grip, so were not suitable for early morning hill climbs or street use.
  14. Good ideas include: External oil cooler Fresh fully synth oil, around 10w-50 rating Overfill oil by 1/2 litre Oil catch can plummed correctly Monitor oil levels and pressure regularly Baffeled sump Extended sump Dry sump Rich tune (also gives you a flame thrower effect on those chasing you) Monitor air fuel ratio's Good brake pads like nismo. Stay away from EBC reds (personal opinion)
  15. The voice of reason there. Plenty of good ones and not so good in the for sales section. From the sounds of it, it sounds like a dog and should stay at the caryard.Once rust gets into them look away unless it was driven by Sir Jim and you have very deep pockets.
  16. You certainly were getting better. That first spin was a bit scary for me, I was not confident that I would stop in time. Shame you didn't have rear/side mounted camera, seeing a GTR on full brakes coming at you would be scary but cool at the same time. I should really listern to someone who knows the track as well. I currently just go out without thinking about the track that much. I seem to make most of my time up in braking (or not braking) into corners. Be great to compare data loggers one day.

    No skylines?
  19. Also thanks Eric for lending me a SD card when I found I packed the wrong one. If anyone comes accross a large yellow and black phillips head screwdriver, I must have misplaced it.
  20. Another good day. Big thanks to all that put their time into making the day run so well. Thanks to Dinessi for slowing down and letting me chase him, alowing me a PB of 1.08.788. Big thumbs down for Mich Pilot sport cup semi slicks, big dollars for little improvement over the Federal RS-R's.
  21. Wrap up thread?
