  1. Thanks for the extra detail Sin. Never realised they had moved.
  2. I blew a turbo first time out, but still drove it home (very slowly). Painful exercise, but started my upgrade path to a car solid as and twice as quick.
  3. If I can find someone with a full motorcycle licence and bike to replace me on the 15th Dec for a paid job (Any takers?). I can attend the 14th at Wakefield.
  4. Remember there's several straights. Going clockwise Main straight Between corner 1 & 2 up the hill (excluding the kink which is part of the main straight) Between corner 5 & 6 two corners that can be straight lined Between corner 7 & 8 the back straight I've overtaken on all with no issues. Just remember if someone wants to jostle for position, let them have it, keep your car in one piece.
  5. Yes, if you start smoking the tyres you will be asked to leave. Minor drift with the intention of going fast is fine (see James video I posted a while ago). You should be looking to limit wheel spin as it slows you down. A track is a good place to learn. If you want to drift do a 5th gear drift day. Don't worry about it, unless you are trying to drift you will be fine. I've looped the GTR once on a Ferrari track day, happy I did not make contact with anyone else.
  6. Since you asked Richard 1. Re Helmets: As long as it's ADR approved then it is not an issue. I use an open face, most use full face. 2. Re: No speed limit, but its NOT racing, read the regs fellas.... It's not racing in the formal sense, but going as fast as you want without a start and end and no timing. As for the regs, read with a grain of salt, "No late braking into corners" Ha... no clarity on that one at all. Moving around the "Pots" are we smoking weed? 3. I agree that it's really not as serious as you guys seem to put it on this thread. It's pretty much arrive and drive as long as your car is roadworthy SAFE 4. The day goes from 9-4, depending on the number of groups you could get 10-15 mins every 30mins to every 1/12 hours. Being a Saturday it will have a lot of cars/groups. 5. You will need to purchase a racing licence on the day unless you already have one, simply show your drivers licence and hand over money. 6. Confirming passengers are for driving training purposes only, and they are strict on this one. 7. Confirming you just fill up with fuel at Goulbourn 10 mins from the track, put some 98 octane in, if you normally use lesser fuel, it can help a little. 8. No one uses the garages, the carports have shade and power, and are free. Things to really worry about 1. Clothing – jeans (Cotton), a long sleave shirt (Cotton), Fully enclosed footwear. Helmet (Why: you won’t get on the track without them) 2. Put new oil on your car, over fill it by 500ml, use good quality and possibly slightly thicker than usual (Why: Oil degrades and loses it’s protective quality, under extreme cornering your oil level may be insufficient to lubricate the engine, a little extra is extra insurance. Your oil will be subjected to extremes of heat on the track, better oil handles the heat better and thicker oil keeps lubricating at extreme temps longer. 3. Take oil to the track (Why: your engine may use it, keep it topped up) 4. Fill up fuel at lunch (Why: Lack of fuel in a hot high revving engine is not good for it) 5. Take money or your own lunch. Take time for lunch. (Why: driving fast takes a lot of concentration particularly if you are new at it, refresh and keep your fluids up) 6. Take it easy and build speed over the whole day. Take the last session carefully. The number of off’s and crashes in the first session and last session far out weighs all the other sessions put together (Why: Experience builds speed, Speed doesn’t build experience) 7 Inspect your car all over including brake pads before you go, get a workshop to do it if you are unfamiliar, it doesn’t hurt letting them look over the car at least once. (Why: At a track you are abusing the car far beyond what the car was designed for, brakes are designed to wear under normal circumstances, but on a track they wear 20 times faster) 8 Have some spare cash in case you need to fix your car afterwards (Why: I’ve broken a few parts and worn out brakes pads/brake discs and tyres so many times. It sux to have the car parked for 6 months trying to save for replacement parts) 9 Be respectful on the track, let people pass, if you’re getting stressed trying to overtake someone, slow down let them get away and continue on. Remember the more distance between cars the safer you are. Since there's interest, I'm checking the days I have available, I might be able to attend.
  7. Doing a day/night to take shots?
  8. No issues here all day
  9. Which started all this with a moderator acting in this manner, and didn't like being called on it. Then he abused his power and made up crap to cover his ass. You misinterpret in an appalling way, my comment and then direct an attack at me personally. My comment clearly related to trolls and them coming back under another IP, even something I could accomplish (with little IT knowledge). I am trying to have a informed discussion, possibly on differing opinions. Perhaps you meant to say "Trolls are a pain but will be dealt with when they arise" Your fellow moderator failed to follow the rules. Great result. This occurred before you enforced this behaviour.
  10. I'm in this year and agree the shots last year were great.
  11. Sure you can have mine Why would you want used?
  12. I can. Don't bother, worked better then the Federal RS-R but not that much better.
  13. He's in Brisbane and possibly dreaming. No posts since September and absolutely no details.
  14. Congrats on an awesome PB. 2 secs better a lap now then me. That's got to change
  15. Lots turned up. Even the cops who got tired of waiting for us to leave, so came down for a friendly chat. (it was really friendly) Note to those coming, please don't drive fast/like a dick before cruising into the area.
  16. You should see him in your rear mirror drifting grumblebee around the fish hook, looks so awesome and makes an easy 0.5sec on me around there. from 5.30
  17. www.natsoft.com.au then select timing then circuit racing

  19. Actually, yes. Unfortunately. "HOONS" has a bad day.
  20. Great too see some SAU (NSW) members at the track. Rain held off, not a best time for myself but fastest road car I believe. Adam Burgess was in another league though.
  21. Be nice to see some r35 owners on the forum. Doing a track day with a 2013 built one this Sunday but they are in a different club.
  22. Those that paid a 3 year membership last track day?
  23. Good having a slightly cheaper car to repair. Hate to think how many months my car would be in the garage saving up for a new axle. Anyway track day this Sunday will be so much fun. Rain Rain Rain. GTR V HSV 4wd V 2wd. I'm never going to wear out these old Michelins at this rate.
  24. Sorry to hear that James. Hope you can put her back together quickly.
