  1. The subject of speed cameras came up at work as it seemed many had been booked in the last month. What was interesting was that someone was booked on the monaro highway near the roundabout for 85 in the 80 zone. Maybe the lack of government funding due to the financual crisis has encouraged them to reduce the tolerance to 5%.
  2. Soted over the last couple of days and nights in Civic Farrari 512 Aston Martin DB9 Merc SL? V12 Must be driving the nice cars before they need to sell them.
  3. low oil possibly, high oil does the opposite for the oil pressure
  4. New Aussie spec GTR, only just behind the Porsche GT2 around their track. Now further evidence that it can beat the Porsche turbo (not the GT2) around the Nur.
  5. Just rated the GTR as the best chick pulling car in Australia How say you girls here?
  6. So do we have any results? The website has not been updated yet which is unusual.
  7. I agree. I'll most likely be there Jayce. I think I know the location but I'll PM a request just to be on the safe side.
  8. Turbz etc... You wanted a race I offered sutton road racetrack , you never turned up If we offer you a drag down the Sydney Drags you won't turn up As for burn outs, go buy a falcon or commo. Skylines are performance vehicles of style. Your comments are either from a child trying to get attention or an under cover cop trying to get members into trouble - neither are wanted here.
  9. Luckily many of these cars are found again, best wishes with finding it in one piece.
  10. The only skylines I've seen at out there are Canberra cruisers, but they don't seem that bad, maybe a little young compared to SAU, certainly not as he was treated. Still anyone can go there, thats why SAU left. I'm not out this week but was out until about 9.40 last week, but had to leave for a warm bed
  11. I tried to find re-treads or re-moulds for my tyres awile back and found no one. Still people doing it for trucks etc but nothing for cars. I had a great re-mould set on an old car a few years back, very sticky. Unfortunatly the cost of remoulding got so high a new tyre was nearly the same price when you take into account the labour.
  12. Great result for such a challenge. Same no Skylines as winners
  13. I'm another one that can't go now, booked to go to Melbourne. Shame I'll have to wait 12 months for a 2 lapper. Money's been put towards the next two events. My times were ok, hoping to slip into the 47's Still not too bad considering all the people that beat me on the day came in fully preped race WRX sti/EVO's. I have all the grip I need right now, the body roll is the main problem. I wanted to see the upgraded GTR beast go around the track.
  14. I'm in and confirmed. How many from your household Michele? Donnon??? Reece?? any one else?
  15. I'll bring one out friday night (assuming it's dry)
  16. Effective range is limited to ensure accruate reading, in perfect conditions over 1km is possible. They do not need to flash. Unless on a special funds grab they are set to 10% of actual speed (not what your speedo says). ie 88 in an 80 zone your gone. The above is based upon conversations with speedcamera operations, friends that have been booked ect.
  17. Soft suspension would cause a bigger weight transfer to the rear wheels (ie weigth) due to the forward momentum, like a motorbike. GTR's are a bit light in the rear end and with solid suspension they to can spin a very little bit. But as I said not much of a problem at these power levels and good tyres.
  18. Sure it's not just the clutch packs?
  19. There's several members here that seem to have a knack for door knocking god bothering, and can't decern a jovial post. Good luck with the prob and let us know the outcome.
  20. My GTR makes about the same power with similar turbo's and boost on the same dyno. I beleive the dyno is not "low" reading, just more truthful then some others. I currently have some really crappy tyres on the 17's and I do not have any problems with wheel spin except if launching on boost. You obviously have some major set up problems or 4wd problems. You have not mentioned if your front wheels are receiving maxium torque. What does the dial say when you start wheel spinning? For best drag style launching a softer rear end is the best for weight transfer, but at those power levels you should not need it. The tyres you have should be fine, but if you need better tyres on a budget try Federal 595RS-R's. Most swear by them here. I hope that helps a bit.
  21. Come on Restless you got to come back to us and tell us the outcome now.
  22. I'll prob be there about 10 tonight
  23. Sure, and I can do it with less kw. See you on the 17th sutton road track.
