Well they certainly make a sucking noise apart from that they do little else compared to a highflow replacement filter until you get 350+rwkw. From what I understand they are legal in the ACT, however in NSW you will need to enclose them in a box. This is a good idea as it prevents engine heat from being sucked in. There's other requirements about intake noise but I don't think a little extra noise would matter, if boxed you probably would not notice an increase. If you are northside many people recomend Trojen motorsports, but fitting pod filters can be done by anyone including yourself.

A wash would probably do :-) No video from me at the hill climb, I've been tasked elsewhere.
-
Yeah if we have a new member I'll make an effort to bring the GTR. We need a map of the area. See the little yellow man, go there. Off the roundabout.

Let Rebecca take the GTS-T, Mark the GTR, Chris the GTT. You can drive the truck with the open wheeler

Expression Of Interest For Drag Night Early In 2009
a20089 replied to a20089's topic in Australian Capital Territory
This is just an expression of interest. I'm not going to hold you so it seeing as it will be 2-3 months in the future. Are you interested in taking half a day off work on a Wednesday to drive to Sydney to attend a drag meet. We will probably get home about 1am. -
Still looking good for the banner to be ready for this event :-)

I am proposing a show and shine day with the Supra club at the Wheels show in March 2009. Initial thoughts were to have the people of Canberra viewing our cars in the morning, casting votes on the best exterior and best engine bay. (no interiors as we don't walk half of Canberra looking inside our cars. Count the votes at 1pm and go home like we normally do. This is an event that anyone could win and encourages these with more bling then swing to come on out and show their great looking cars. This is a $0 cost event for entrants with maybe a few $$ for a couple of prizes. Will we see the clean lines and silky black paint of Donnon's car overcome the custom paint job Ross's car has had? Only the people of Canberra can tell us.

Have you ever got an official 1/4 mile drag time, ever wondered what your car would do? and do it legally? Here's your chance to find out have some fun and maybe win some prizes at the same time. From speaking to the officials what I can organise is for a special slip lane so we can race Supra V Skyline for the night, or if there numbers are not so high, Skyline V Skyline. If we get enough numbers there may be some minor media attention HPI etc. What people will have to do is be able to leave Canberra at about 1pm on a Wednesday. This event will be on regardless of numbers and the cost will not change due to numbers. NSW SAU and NSW SUPRA's are most welcome I will book a date with at least 4 weeks notice. I will be going for some fun and pics. Please post your interest in this thread. How the Drags work Location: Eastern Creek Raceway, Sydney Time: 5pm Entry and Scrutineering with racing from 6pm to 10pm Date: Every Wednesday night Cost: $50 to race Notes: Scrutineering from 5pm until 7.30pm (unless 200 car quota filled before 7.30pm) Important Items to bring: Current Drivers Licence, Long sleeved shirt and pants, Helmet More information: http://www.wsid.com.au Each competing vehicle will be entitled to two crew members. Crew members will be required to sign an indemnity and will be issued with wrist bands. This will allow them to accompany the vehicle to the start line area while the vehicle is racing. $20 each or $20 for spectators. The only open vehicles that will be allowed to compete are street-registered hot rods. (Sorry Michele, you will have to bring the GTS-T If the vehicle runs quicker than 11.99 seconds the driver is required to hold a current ANDRA licence. You can purchase if/when you run between 11sec and 11.99 sec ($150 I think with a $20 discount applied?). Seriously you will be looking at needing 300kw+ for this. I've been told Ross's 430kw Supra did a 12.7. All vehicles must have an exhaust system with functional mufflers that will ensure the noise level does not exceed 95db when measured at 30 metres. That is very loud.

I know Donnan loves his GTS-T look a like, but a GTR should be proud to wear the GTR badge.

Had hoped to be out, but too many drinks for me to be there. Next time.

As some have suggested we will leave the Futsal Stadium in R31-R32-R33-R34-V35-V36-R35 order, gts-t's before GTR's. I know we probably won't get any R31's or V series cars but the order is there in case they appear. This is as much for me as anyone else, please wash your car, this is a display showing your beast in all it's beauty. Please let me know who's coming and what car you are bringing in the main section thread.

Thanks Cejay for mentioning this and organising last year, it was great. I've put my hand up to organise our group and now I've read my emails I can formally organise this. Wow great to hear it's back on the road, but ouch six big ones and no new turbo's or computer.
-
I won't go that far, but they are getting better. Now they need to do a real comparo with a GTR
-
Check the fuse under the dash, yes in the R33. Also does it go away when you start the car up again or all the time.

Movies in full quality. Some have bad wind noise, it's only a camera. Look at the file name to see what it is. Skylines Act Formally Challenges The Act Supra Club
a20089 replied to a20089's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Though the day was more about getting out there and having a go, congratulations must be made to Donnon who took the trophy home for having the fastest "non-disqualified" Skyline or Supra there on the day. Mark G for having the fastest Skyline before being disqualified for not staying on the track. And CJ for winning the most improved on the day with a personal best on every session. Special thanks to Mazman who turned up with a very big turbo and came 4th overall. Video's will be posted. -
